This place has a nice pub atmosphere and I've dropped by here for a drink few times. I ordered the scampi and chips for a snack and was actually quite filling although kind of standard. They serve a very extensive range of beers and cider and all priced very reasonably. Their cocktails are quite steep though the ice cream based ones are delicious. The atmosphere is very friendly, less of a family place and more of a professional / student crowd. Will definitely continue to come back here.

I came here to watch the Wimbledon Final with my boyfriend. We both looked around and thought that this bar might be the best choice around where we live. It was also one of the few pubs to actually broadcast the final. However, when we arrived, they could not turn the sound of the match on as it would require turning off their music. This was a little annoying but we decided we would settle for this. We ordered chips to nibble on. They were pretty nice, but the portion at €3.50 was a little steep. It was hard enough to concentrate on the match without the sound, but this seemed to be a family pub where lots of rowdy children and babies came and were encouraged. At this point, we regretted our decision to come to the pub. Not even halfway into the match, a group also watching the match were asked if it was ok to turn the channel over to hurling to suit another group of people. They said that they were watching the match and the waiter retreated back. We were a little taken aback by the request. Less than 15 minutes later, we were told that the group wanting to watch the hurling were quite large and in order to change their television, the tv we were watching from had to also be changed. They told us we could relocate to the back where one tv was still playing the match. We grumbled over to the tv which had poor reception. To add insult to injury, none of the tables had been cleaned before they asked us to relocate. We had to sit at a table with rubbish strewn over it and glasses everywhere. At this point we would have just left but unfortunately I had ordered a small dish to tide my hunger. I ordered the crostini which was nice, if not underwhelming. Another complaint I had was that after it was set down, a waiter decided to clean the table with a spray. The crostini was very simple, the salsa tasted primarily of tomato purée and at €7, was a bit of a joke. After I finished my meal, we decided to settle the bill which came to a ridiculous figure. Popped in here with my friend yesterday to see what the fuss was all about. She warned me about the "tacktastic" decor of the place and I thought I had readied myself for it, but by the time we slinked up the stairs I encountered a full on visual assault. I can see this as being fun for some people though I remained perplexed and distracted throughout the stay. I'd say this place is really good to get into the mood of a night out or some kind of festive arrangement though. I ordered a chai latte and a slice of their homemade chocolate cake. The chai latte had an amazing texture, one of the best I've had and the slice of cake was lovely and comforting, enough to forget the surroundings. Would come back with a few friends for a bite to eat before heading to a pub or something similar.

A friend took me here yesterday and after reading some positive feedback, I was very excited. This cafe is very easy to miss, even my friend walked past it before she realised. The cafe itself is very quaint, mismatching chairs and a single waitress. I opted for a soup, sandwich and soft drink deal for €9.99. The soup was butternut squash and honey and was super. I had the vegetable club sandwich which was so big, I had to resort to using a knife and fork to avoid impending embarrassment. It was a lovely and filling meal, didn't have room for the salad. With my can of soft drink came a glass with a lemon slice in it which was a lovely touch. The waitress was very warm and is a lovely finishing touch to a charming little cafe. Nothing irritates me more than establishments charging through the ear for substandard food but I would gladly give this place my business and hopefully drag a few friends here someday!

Have only been here twice in total purely thanks to my sister's love of this place. The last time we went was during the weekend and was surprisingly very empty. We started with some prawn dumplings and vegetable spring rolls which were both terrific. For the main we had char siu pork which completely overshadowed everything else. We also ordered a plate of Asian vegetables for some variety. Reluctantly I left the pork for a courtesy bite of the veg for the benefit of my sister (she was paying after all) and was pleasantly surprised. We ordered a pot of jasmine green tea to wash it all down which was beautifully fragrant. The staff were very friendly and treated us well. I'd go as far to say that this is the best Chinese food I've had. Looking forward to going back!

Whenever I go shopping with my sister on Grafton street, she loves taking us to this place. Initially, it is a very novel experience with the revolving belt. However, the prices are a bit steep offering small portions. Several dishes are needed to make up a decent meal. There aren't many actual sushi dishes, rather a flurry of snacks on the conveyor belt. Some dishes are actually quite tasty but hard to justify when you are virtually serving yourself. Nice for a once off but a very expensive habit.

I went here for my sister's Hen Party. I'm not that familiar with Galway but this place was the best thing about the entire weekend. The place itself is a little cramped and seems to be a popular haunt for Hen Parties (though of the more civilised kind). I found the mismatched chairs quirky and charming. The food far exceeded my expectation as it was both delicious and well presented. The bill was not harsh on the purse strings either. I only regret that this little gem is in Galway, and not in Dublin.

I went here as a group dinner with all my friends. It was my first time though one of the girls recommended it from a previous visit. First impressions were very good, I love a place with an inviting decor. We were sat at a booth type table. The cushioned benches were very comfortable and cosy, unfortunately I was stuck with the uncushioned bench which had no back support and having sat for so long, made me very uncomfortable. There were tables with regular chairs so would suggest either going as a couple or a small group for comfort. The menu was a little overwhelming and needed to be explained to us a few times (the waitress was more than patient and friendly). Our order had to be similar to a military strategy to accommodate everyone's dietary requirements. When the food arrived, we were a bit overwhelmed at the quantity. Some dishes were very good and others were just ok. The sharing element of the experience was enjoyable but required a lot of effort passing around dishes was more than exhausting. It was an interesting evening but I would not go back.

The food here is delightfully fresh and comforting. I have been countless times with many different people none of whom, including myself, were disappointed. The menu provides a good variety of options. The only thing is they bring out food as soon as it's done and myself and most of my friends feel uncomfortable to eat before others have received their food. Their dessert, though I find a bit expensive, is also delicious. This restaurant is a bit hard to find as it is situated below street level and easily overlooked. Personally though, I love the decor of this place, very clean with the kitchen in view. Have seen quite a few families and business lunches hosted so appropriate for many occasions! Recommended.

This is a place I frequent quite a lot. The food is already well priced but with a student discount of 2 for 1, this makes this place almost too good to turn down. The food has a nice variety between meat and vegetarian burgers. Their homemade chips are a wonderful addition if you're feeling particularly peckish though I find their burgers are more than enough on many occasions. To be picky, I would say their layout is a little cramped but would not bother the majority. This is a favourite to many I know so recommended with confidence.

This is a great addition to the eateries surrounding Trinity College and is a favourite among my peers. The value for what you're getting is truly incredible for Dublin. The food is hot, filling, impressively varied and pretty tasty. If you go for the takeaway box option, you may end up with an unrecognisable mush due to frantic over piling which seems to be a compulsion few are safe from. That being said, no one in my experience has complained with such prices on offer. The only downside I would say is the frantic bustle at and during lunch time. Queues are heaving and chaotic with people moving back to rethink snubbed roast potatoes. If you suffer from claustrophobia like myself, you are sure to find such an environment distressing. Furthermore, arriving after the peak period means you run the risk of slim pickings. Fortunately his shouldn't affect their sandwich and salad bar however. Things may change after college term however. Still highly recommended.

This is one of my favourite places to go for breakfast or dessert! My weakness is the choc ice option - melted chocolated buttons within a crepe and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I've ordered and enjoyed their savoury crepes in the past however I think that as a lunch, it is not very filling. On the downside, I find that the prices are a little steep for such simple ingredients (in the case of the choc ice anyway). Though maybe this is just my student mentality. This place is great as a treat nontheless and find the staff some of the most friendly I've ever encountered. Highly reccomended.
