I second the previous reviewers comments on the scones - they are DELICIOUS - esp. the berry ones.And don't get me started on the cakes - they are really really good.I don't know if they do the baking themselves or get the stuff in but wherever it comes from, its divine.
Their coffee is also very good.The only bad thing I can say about the place is that its a little bit squashed inside but thats about it.

Popped in here on the way home from town on Sat evening.Wish I had read the reviews first though.
I don't agree with previous comments that its reasonably priced.
The food is average at best and overpriced for what it is e.g. €18 roast pork with apple sauce - no veg or potatoes included.
I ended up having the chicken & ham (€15 no veg/potatoes inc) which was passable but too expensive.
Service was good however and the staff were polite & friendly.
I would not go back - theres much better food and value to be had elsewhere on the southside.

Had a meal here a few weeks ago after reading all the rave reviews.Well they can add one more.
The service is excellent (friendly but not obtrusive) and the food is really good value for money.
Our bill was less than €70 for the 2 of us for 3 courses + bottle of wine + complimentary drinks.
I will definitely be back.

Went for food here a few months ago and was very impressed. Wasn’t crazy about the actual dining room - it had a cavernous feel to it. Who cares though - the food was fabulous and very reasonable. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful - the wine she recommended perfectly complimented my chicken & mushroom pie. The only downside to this, is the place is now THE place to eat in DL so the days of just showing up and getting in the door are gone - boo hoo. Great to see the likes of here bringing quality food for great prices to the Southside.

A little on the pricey side but having said that the food is good quality (also love their green curry) and service is excellent. It's a special occasion rather than everyday kind of place but is all the better for that. Would definitely go back..

The Horse & Hound is a nice pub - good atmosphere, clean and comfortable surroundings. The quality of the food is good but over-priced for what is really just above average pub grub. Staff are friendly and pleasant. I would go back if the food was better value for money..
