Was really looking forward to eating at this restaurant as a friend of mine had being raving about it. It didn’t disappoint!
We were a small party of 4. We were welcomed warmly & seated quickly. The staff was very attentive from the get-go.
Thought the menu gave an excellent choice of popular dishes with a twist.
We all had starters- brie, Portobello mushroom & lamb cakes. I managed to taste them all- delish!
For mains I went for the chicken dish while the rest of our party had the beef. Everything was fantastic. Plenty of side orders of veg & pot brought out & we were all asked if we'd like more of anything. Desserts were equally yummy- but then again I have a soft spot for desserts & again I had to try everyone’s. All of them gorgeous!!!
I will definitely be back to this restaurant- although a little pricier than your average restaurant the quality of food is far from average. The staff was superb- even singing happy birthday for our friend’s birthday & putting a candle in her dessert etc.
My one & only gripe and it is a teeny tiny gripe is this: the restaurant is quiet small & the tables were quiet close together (this is a little pet hate for me) also the tables were small & the plates huge which made for abit of giggling about when different courses came out. But it didn’t deter us from having a lovely meal/ night!

I've eaten here a few times before & always love it- menu is perfect in my opinion for all tastebuds- would always recommend this restaurant to anyone who was new to Athlone town etc. Brought my friend here for lunch on Sat. It was about 3pm when we arrived (no booking-just walked in), we had to wait for a few minutes for a table but we were seated in a comfy waiting area- got a lovely table for two right beside the window- my friend was impressed with the decor of the place & lovely large windows overlooking the river Shannon. Gorgeous day out & sun was shining!
We both skipped starters- I had Roast of the day which was Beef & my friend had Bangers & Mash. Both were lovely- beef was perfect with beautiful fresh veg. After I had the Sticky Toffee Pudding & my friend had the Chocolate Brownie- both devine! Couldnt fault the service at all- staff were extremely friendly & service was quick. It was the perfect restaurant for a lovely girlie catch up lunch! Only tiny fault is- it is a little on the pricey side!

Was there with a pal- we had a voucher for 2 pasta dishes, 2 desserts & 2 glasses of wine all for €22.50! As we went in before going to a movie it was early enough and it was quiet enough- just a few people there.
However staff were really friendly & we were sitted straight away. The waitress was quick to point out that the deal also included a choice of pizzas instead of pasta dishes if we so wished. Food was lovely & service was great. Our waitress was so friendly and nice through out our meal etc. and nothing was too much trouble for her. Even though by the time we got our main course the place has certainly filled up & was getting very busy.
My pal has eaten here serveral times & we went on her recommendation. I wasnt disappointed at all!

Group of us ate here on Sat night. Everyone of us enjoyed our meal. Wonderful atmosphere- very quirky decor. Food was fantastic- I especially loved the desserts- double yummy.
Service was great- really friendly staff nothing was too much hassle for them. Everyone thought it was great value for money. My only gripe is that I should have tried a cocktail.........never mind next time!!! Cheers Townhouse for a wonderful dining experience : )

Excellent restaurant. Theres always a great atmosphere. I went with a group from work was a little bit apprehensive as I dont eat Thai but I found lots on the menu to try! Delicious food but I wouldnt say cheap. But all in all good value for what you get!

Great little place for lunch. Have eaten here many times. Good menu with plenty to choose from they now do a great selection of pancakes too- my fav! Which is something different to the normal lunch menu. Staff are always friendly & quick.Restaurant & restrooms lovely & clean!

I've eaten here twice- first experience wasnt wonderful- went with my hubby. We were stuck in a corner (& not in a romantic way!) We didnt order a starter because there was nothing on the menu that caught our eye. Main course was only ok & dessert was the same. Overall I've eaten in fair less expensive restaurants & enjoyed the food more. Also the service wasnt great- we didnt feel welcome at all!
Second time to eat there was with a group of friends ( I obvisiously didnt choose where to eat) however I was willing to give it a second chance. This time round the menu was better (I think because it was a set menu) & the food was better than I had remembered. The service was much improved- maybe I'm being cynical but it was probably because it was a large group- hoping for repeat clients & all that!!!
