The welcome at the door from restaurant manager was very friendly, & we were shown to our seats - we were offered a choice, & took a private booth.
I noted that the wine list was very well structured, with a number of wines listed at approx Eur25.50, & another group at Eur27.50, All very good wines. After that there were many more up to whatever you would like to spend. This is a touch of realism which is appreciated.
Starters were excellent, but arrived with undue haste after ordering I have to say, as did our mains. This was the only slight blemish (better this way than too slow), but please adhere to standard times. The main of Hereford Rib was perfectly cooked, & excellent portions, with 3 vegetables included.
Desert menu again arrived promptly as did the return to take our order, but we requested a break !
Overall a very enjoyable & relaxing evening - would highly recommend.

I have been here a couple of times, & the food is very good. On both occasions I have gone for the black pudding starter which is a great combination of flavours, nicely presented, & for main I have had the rack of lamb which was perfectly cooked & presented. The other main I had was the organic sirloin, which was cooked medium rare just as I had asked. Staff were very friendly.
When we were there we were seated at the back of the restaurant, which was extremely warm, so they need to sort out some proper airconditioning, as I would not sit there again - I would ask for a table which has some airflow.
Another request - please change the chairs at the back of the restaurant - they're about 3 inches lower than a normal seat height, so when you sit down at the table you sink lower than you expect, which is a bit disorienting, & especially as your friends seated on the bench on the other side are at normal height. Seems like a small thing, but its actually very offputting to have the table height a couple of inches higher than normal for the practicalities of eating.
