Vagya RestaurantPosted on 18 April 2012
We ate here recently using a voucher. It was our first time to visit this restaurant, it is isn't much to look at on the outside but inside is much better. The food was very nice, the service was excellent - the staff were very attentive. We will be back again.

White Gables RestaurantPosted on 18 April 2012
We recently spent a weekend away in Galway at the Glenlo Abbey. The White Gables was suggested to us by the hotel as their own restaurant was only available for early bookings. The White Gables restaurant was a fabulous experience from the minute we stepped inside the door. The service and food was outstanding. We both had pate for starter and I had duck and my partner had the steak, both were gorgeous. It was so refreshing to visit an establishment where the owners really care about their food and service.

Washerwomans HillPosted on 18 April 2012
My partner and I went to the Washerwomans Hill restaurant on a Friday night with a menupages voucher; it was our first time to visit this restaurant. On arrival we were shown to our seats and given two cocktails which were included with the voucher by a friendly female waitress. A male waiter then came to take our order, he's only communication with us was "well?" as he stood beside our table, my partner then responded with "well, how are you?", where the waiter responded with "well, I'm the waiter, I take your order." We were both shocked and stumped by he's attitude, he was incredibly rude. He took our order for our shared starter and main courses and walked off without taking our drinks order. I was trying to catch he’s eye to order some drinks, but I honestly think he was ignoring us, eventually I did get he’s attention and ordered a bottle of wine. We got the shared starter of Mushroom bruschetta, which was lovely, very tasty. For main course, my partner ordered a burger and I ordered the sirloin steak, medium cooked. My steak was more well-done than medium but it was still nice although it was a little fatty for my liking. My partner really enjoyed he’s burger. We got profiteroles between us for dessert, these were also lovely. I did notice that the male waiter was friendly and chatty with other tables, so I’m not sure maybe he’s rudeness towards us was because we had a voucher and not paying full price from an al a carte menu. Overall the food was lovely, but the service was the worst I have ever experienced. It has really put me off ever returning to this restaurant, such a shame, because it really is a lovely little restaurant with nice food.

Asian Cuisine - ZAOPosted on 18 August 2011
We have been here a couple of times after the cinema. Once was with a city deal voucher which was great value. It is a nice Chinese restaurant, food was always nice, staff are friendly. It is probably slightly over priced for what it is, but saying that I will go there again.

Louies BistroPosted on 18 August 2011
We would never have found this little gem only for city deals. It is a lovely restuarant, great atmosphere and the staff are excellent. We were a group of four and between us we got, the duck, seabass and two chicken mains. All were delicious. I cannot praise the food enough. I cannot wait to go back again.

Wallace's TavernaPosted on 18 August 2011
I bought a citydeal voucher for Wallace's Taverna and it was my first visit. The voucher allowed use to get a starter, a main and a glass of wine for 2 people for €30.00, which was a bargain. They gave us a basket of bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which I loved. I had a mixed seafood starter and a risotto for main and a glass of the house red wine, my partner had soup for starter and chicken with mushroom sauce for the main and also a glass of red wine. My starter was nice. My partner really enjoyed his soup. My risotto was bland and the portion size was very generous, nothing special really. My partner's main was tasty but the presentation was awful, it looked dreadful on the plate. The wine was yum. The staff were very friendly. Overall it was ok, doubt I'll be back again though.

The Cheese PantryPosted on 18 August 2011
I have recently moved to the Drumcondra area and Monday was my first visit to the Cheese Pantry. We availed of the early bird menu, which consists of two courses for €17.50. I got the beef bresola for starter and the roast stuffed herb fillets of plaice for main, my other half got the chicken liver parfait for starter and the coq au vin for main. We found the food very tasty but I was very disappointed with the portion size of plaice main course, it was very very small, I was still hungry when I was finished my meal, I was so disappointed because it was genuinely delicious. My others half’s starter and main course were a descent portion size and he was very satisfied afterwards, but unfortunately both my courses were on the small size. Saving that it was delicious and I will be back but they really need to increase their portion sizes! It could be the case that the early bird portions are smaller than the a la carte portions but I'm not sure.
