I visited this restaurant with my partner last night after purchasing the Citydeal Voucher. Initial impressions were good, nice decor and cosy sectioned off set up, toilets were clean so all seemed good. The deal was 2 mains and 2 glasses of wine for roughly 21 euro instead of 55ish. I would always look to see if this is reflected in the menu and found a Jumbo prawn dish for 22 euro which is fair enough if you ordered it. Service was pleasant as expected and initial order was smooth. Nice fresh popadoms and dips were a good start. It quickly went downhill from here though.
we ordered 2 starters and 2 mains with 2 glasses of house red which was clearly cheap but refreshingly fruity so not bad, with 2 glasses of water. 20mins past with no sign of water, wine or starters so I asked could we get them, water followed but no wine! 10mins later the starts came out, albeit to the wrong table initially, onion bhaaji and jumbo prawn battered, both were nice. The side salads were clearly cut earlier in the day however as they were limp and off color. After finishing, the wine arrived. it took another 10mins after finishing for the staff to clear the table even though they walked by around 10 times! after asking if everything was ok I said we were ready for the mains (starting to get hungry!). 20mins past, no sign, 30, no sign. Then the table behind us got their mains before starters, then had to reorder their starters. The table across from us got served first although they came in after, and they didn't even get the right meal (i think this may have been ours!). From sitting down, it took 1hr 20mins for our meal to arrive, when it arrived, the food was nice, but they had ommitted the Garlic naan which my partner ordered.
This place is a complete shambles when it comes to service, I have never seen a restaurant get so many simple things wrong. I will never go back.
P.S. the table behind ordered jumbo prawns for their main but got standard prawns size!
