Had lunch here yesterday, Have heard people raving about it for ages. Obviously these people have never dined anywhere good! We had the steak sandwich and the venison. Steak was full of fat and grizzle. Was almost a 10 inchs of fat on my plate, how could a chef over look this?? and then hide it in a sandwich.. far too much rocket and onion, this was served with a bowl of mushy chips that tasted like the oil need a change, was horrible. My friend had the venison. She said it was ok, she ate it as she was hungry and after waiting 25 mins for our food we were starving. The house wine we couldn't drink, awful. Don't know how they got the cat to balance on the bottle. When i complained about meal and wine, they took the wine of the bill. Won't be back. Food is terrible, service is very slow and we couldn't even see to eat as the place is so badly lit. No atmosphere and over priced.

Wonderful evening in Chapter One last night. Very friendly greeting and service by all we met. Food was fab, starters amazing, buttermilk soup, salmon and the duck sausage was delicious. Mains were filling and cooked to perfection. I had the beef which was melt in the mouth. Dessert was to die for, maybe the most delicious chocolate mousse I've ever eaten. The staff went out on a limb for us as we had a birthday celebration among our party. We will definitely be back

Visiting the restaurant, looks alone the place is awful, cramped and has an unpleasant smell. 5 courses, 1st, chicken soup. Could of been an oxo cube with 3 tiny pieces of chicken for all we knew. 2nd, Tasteless greasy pies and chicken croquet, which was a potato croquet, didn't taste any chicken, Mains - Drunk chicken, which was like microwaved uncle bens. Uttlerly bland. Lamb dish with garlic and onion sauce, so over powering, almost got sick. Lamb was like leather and smelled awful. Desert was the best but wasn't great. one flan and some warm sponge with sultanas. Skipped last course of tea/coffee. Wine was good, the waitress was fabulous and very kind. Overall 0.5 out 5. Won't be back

My sister and i had lunch here last a few weeks ago. We fancied fish and chips and a salad and a glass of wine and i have to say the wine was the best part. The beer batter fish was soggy and tasteless, which is hugely disappointing as we hadn't even added salt and vinegar yet and the chips were rather tasteless. Tartare sauce wasn't even as nice as my local chip shop and the peas well.. I could of done without them, for 15 euro for fish n chips.Will try something else next time as it's close to work, but not recommended

A group of us had dinner here and we were disappointed. Hoi sin duck rolls, were flat and tasteless, next i had the steak, which was so full of fat and grizzle i couldn't eat it. My guests had Panang beef and the fillet and agreed it wasn't up to much and another had the Bo. We all had rice sides and a few bottles of wine. The meal was below average and we left hungry and quite out of pocket. Service wasn't even that great. Would not recommend this restaurant as there are so many better ones for better value. Won't be back.

3 of us had the 3 course deal at Pichet, great value for money, lovely food and amazing service as always. Country style terrine is a winner in my book. Pithivier, delicious and the dessert selection is fab! I had the brownie.We also had some fantastic fries on the side. So good. Will be back very soon, Recommended to everyone. They also do great cocktails.

A friend and I visited the restaurant last week, it was really busy but we got seated. We both had Tuna starters, there was alot of raw tuna on my plate and it looked like a hamburger pate, so not very appealing and quite off putting, tasted alright. I went for the steak as a main and my friend, the squash veggie option, wish i had of went for that too. My rump steak was awful, cooked correctly on one side and rare on the other, was very fatty and so to each piece i could eat, i could not eat the next. It was served with fries and a lettuce, unfortunately the fries and lettuce was horrible, done in the same tasteless oil. Huge let down. Won't be back

We went for the 7 course tasting menu. Having heard alright reviews, we thought we'd give it a shot. We like another reviewer got the table by the stairs, a little annoying as people/waiters like to touch the back of your chair as they walk by. Anyway, first off, Amuse bouche, a cold thick asparagus mousse with salmon roe, didn't like it, tasted like chicken bullion cubes with cod liver oil tablets. Next was organic salmon, it was delicious, loved the ponzu sauce. They didn't have the John Dory, which is what is on the menu, instead we were offered the scallop. 2 tiny little pieces on my plate, can't imagine what size the dory was to be substituted with these tiny scallops. Next was foie gras, i was really looking forward to this and it was awful, sludgy and just melted and disappeared in your mouth. Huge disappointment. Next, the lamb, itself, was cooked beautifully but sweetbreads and some really bitter, terrible tasting putanesca just sunk the dish. Cheese of the day was next, delicious, how can you go wrong, followed by the highlight of the meal, dessert. Amazing dark chocolate pave with espresso foam, vanilla ice cream and praline. Absolutely amazing and saved the menu, thankfully. All in all, 3 out of 7 dishes were good, unfortunately 2 of those were just dressing a plate not cooking involved. Could of done myself at home and I do. Hats off to the pastry chef! Would only return to this restaurant for dessert. O and the wine, 2009 Malbec, was about 2-3 degrees off room temperature, but considering it took 2 hours to serve the 7 courses, it improved by course 5.

I just love going to this restaurant for dinner and our last dining experience was my favourite. The restaurant was busy and we may of waited a little longer than usual, but it was worth it. We had the quail and foie gras starters, they were to die for! Mains we both had the beef assiette, this was probably the best main course i have ever eaten in my life, my companion agreed and dessert was chocolate and raspberry. We also received a selection of sweets for afters as well as little palate cleansers along the way. The one small problem i had was that they have a smoking area which when the door is opened, the smoke files into the main dining room.

We had lunch here and decided upon the tasting menu. It was fantastic. Great Value, amazing service. There were only a few fish courses which i was happy with as i just wasn't in the mood for salmon tartare. The smallest of gripes, was dessert, I always enjoy something with chocolate or something refreshing. We got a brac style cake with dates. Saying that, i'm still looking forward to my next visit. One of my favourite restaurants in Dublin

From beginning to end, this just wasn't good enough. Mix up twice in bookings, arrived to my name not being written in the book! Starters were alright, with duck and soup as our choice, unfortunately the black pudding and scallop was so small, I could hardly taste it. Mains were both beef cheek, one was perfect and the other was tough and the lack of veg was noticeable. Dessert was was just ok, yule log and monte carlo, both had their bad points. Our waiter was a disaster, he decided to speak in a whisper and only to my friend, not to me, not a word and on a rowdy night that it was we didn't know what we were getting. After dessert we were not offered tea/coffee even though we had a prepaid voucher. We took the cheque and ran. Won't be back, save your pennies and pop upstairs to Thorntons

We dined here last week, we had a last minute early bird menu and the restaurant was happy to oblige. The staff were fantastic, after being seated we snacked on bread rolls and they came around a few times which was great, with compliments we had Smoked Mackerel and Cucumber ice, delicious. Would of had The Mackerel as a main it was so good. Next I had the Scallops, followed by Beef Cheek on a bed of Pearl Barley. Amazing! Can't wait to go back

I had received a gift voucher from Citydeals for Solas so I was looking forward to a meal there. When we arrived a member of staff was cleaning the doorstep with a mop and water so we had to wait till her finished to get in. Surroundings were dark and I won't say dirty as I couldn't see clearly but they were not very clean and chairs were uncomfortable. The voucher entitled me to a Tex-Mex meal and 5 beers, great we thought. We didn't receive a menu as they just brought us our alcohol and food. It looked like a treat to get burritos and fajitas, chicken wings and nachos and it was until we realised the only meat we got was the chicken wings! Vegetarian fajitas and burritos, nachos and 3 chicken wings. A little disappointed is an understatement, will not be back.

My third visit to Pichet and not a great one i'm afraid. Had lunch with friends and our starters, not the ones we wanted as our favourites were not available on the day, but still really enjoyed it the Terrine I ordered. Main course was a let down for all three of us, my friend and I ordered steaks and they were inedible, so tough we couldn't chew them and had to spit them out and our other guest had the Risotto and she didn't enjoy it either. Our waiter asked if all was alright and we said we could not chew our steak and that the Risotto wasn't right, he walked off and didn't return. Not the service or the food I was expecting from Pichet as my previous visits were quite good. Will give this restaurant a miss for a while. Sorry Pichet

Used my groupon voucher for Mitsuba on Monday night.. I've never been here so didn't expect much. Ordered Sushi, dumplings and main meal.. Really enjoyed it. Dumplings were amazing. Also found out on the night that they deliver! Can't wait to eat there again
