Steps of Rome is the perfect little spot to go for a tasty bite to eat before going out. The food is delish, service is quick, authentic Italian staff and great value for money.

Went to Nico's for the first time with my boyfriend after a recommendation. The minute we stepped through the door it was like being transported back to an old Italian 1980's dining room - absolutely fantastic! There was a pianist playing soft romantic music in the back ground and although we didnt' have a reservation we were brought to a table straight away. Both our waiters were Italian and extremely helpful and friendly - we ordered a gorgeous bottle of Pouilly Fumé (which was a little expensive but totally worth it). For starters I had the ravioli pasta served in a consumé followed by the Nico's pasta special (cream, mushrooms, peas, garlic and serrano ham) - both were absolutely delish! It was a fantastic night full of atmosphere and great food - will definately return!

Reserved a table for 2 here to try something new. Was impressed by the surroundings, nice decor - very 'Brasserie' feeling. Went for the mushroom and spinach ravioli for starters which was absolutely delish. My boyfriend had the squid which unfortunately was cold. For mains I had the chicken - the meat was gorgeous but the herbed mash was completely over powering. The mash was green and had a very strong taste to it - which was disappointing as I am a big potatoe fan! Will go back though- great potential

Went to Alfies with the girls 2 weeks ago on a Thurs night - we arrived quite late in the hopes of getting a table which was no problem at all. We had the most delish cocktails to start - and at only €5 I couldn't believe it! I must admit when I saw the price I thought they would be all fruit juice - but no, they were proper delicious cocktails. We shared starters and took the nachos and garlic bread which were to die for, I had the chicken kiev for mains and was so surprised to find that I got 2 whole homemade chicken kievs on my plate - enough to feed 2 people! They were delicious and served with creamy mashed potatoes. They girls had pasta and they too had massive portions and loved it! Great food, service, and cocktails - perfect for a girls night out!!!

Greenes Restaurant @ Hotel IsaacsPosted on 05 February 2010
My friends and I went down to Cork for a hen party and we stayed in Hotel Issacs. We booked a table in Greenes for 9pm thinking it would be just your usual hotel food - but we were absolutely blown away! It is tucked neatly behind the Hotel with a beautiful waterfall outside, on arrival we were entertained by a fantastic piano player in the lobby whilst they got our table ready. The atmosphere was buzzing and there was great energy. The food was outstanding - I had the beef which was cooked to perfection and one of the best steaks I have ever tasted - great wine, service and the price was reasonable. Fantastic experience - will definitely return!

I have to say to dine in Patrick Guilbaud's is one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life! Ok it is expensive - you would quite easily spend €200+ for dinner for 2, but it is seriously worth it. We went there for my boyfriends birthday for a lunch sitting at 1.30pm - we were greeted by the finest trained waiting staff who brought us out to the small courtyard garden which had a roaring fire and beautiful seating where we made our lunch choices and enjoyed a delicious glass of champagne. When we were ready we were escorted to our beautiful table and our food was brought to us with excellent timing. It truly was a magical experience, expensive but absolutely worth it! Oh and the vanilla creme brulee is to die for!

Went for lunch here with 2 friend's two weeks ago and all I can say is - YUM! All three of us are big foodies who are hard to please and we all left with full belly's and smiles on our faces. Great value at €15 for 2 courses - I had the soup to start followed by the pork meatballs which came with pomme puree and buttered carrots - absolutely delicious. Our waiter tended to our every need and his timing was impeccable. This little gem of a restaurant would seriously blow a lot of its competition out of the water! If that was my experience for lunch I can't wait to get back there for dinner!!!

I absolutely love this place! Ok it is not gourmet cuisine, however the atmosphere and style of eating is fantastic. It has fantastic dark black walls with hundreds of wine bottles stored everywhere - you really feel like you are in a different world. The service is great - speedy and friendly. Delicious wine with an excellent Wine list and great cocktails. I usually go for the chicken croquettes, patatas bravas, garlic & tomato bread and a tortilla - all for about €12 - €14, such a bargain! I would highly recommend Pintxo's for a night out.

We go here quite often for the Sunday Brunch menu and always LOVE it! I have gone a few times for the evening menu, however I find it a little expensive. The room downstairs though is very cool for dinner out with the girls before heading out to town. About 1 Sunday per month we head here for breakfast and are never disappointed. It is very reasonable for the quality of food you receive and the bloody Mary's are to die for! The portions are large and filling and the staff are friendly and always accommodating - definitely recommended!

I attended a hen party in Fire restaurant and was so excited to go there. When we arrived the atmosphere is electric and the decor is superb. However, I felt the waiting staff had an almost 'stuck up' attitude and were not very helpful. The food itself is tasty, but extremely overpriced for what you receive. I ordered a steak medium well and my friend ordered a steak well done. Her steak arrived like a piece of charcoal in the middle of the plate - no sauce, and tiny for the price. Nothing is cooked with love, you could feel it was more a mass production - however it has such potential with the beautiful decor.

I visited this restaurant with my boyfriend roughly around the time that it opened. Unfortunately we were not impressed - we were left standing waiting for a table for a good 5mins even though there were tables free. The burgers are ridiculously priced considering you do not get a side of fries or salad included. We had really high expectations as you would when you are paying that amount for a burger in a "burger only" restaurant, however I found the burger to be very bland, nothing amazing at all. The chips I had ordered were just frozen chips and we were really hoping for some home made chunky ones. Overall very disappointing.
