The Chili ClubPosted on 24 June 2010
A wee bit cramped but we were a large party and got fitted in at a nice circular table in the corner.
We went for a starter selection to share and it was really delicious, with a good mix of items on the plate.
Again lots of shared main courses, duck and Pad Thai particularly tasty. Some could have been more spicy but I think the general irish palate asks for milder rather than a spicy shock.
Overall a great choice for a group dinner and reasonable value.

Jaipur Restaurant (George's Street)Posted on 08 March 2009
Cosy atmosphere with friendly unobtrusive staff and great food. Not a massive menu but still a good choice between traditional menu favourites and some of their own more original recipes. Delicious lamb shank. Great tasting basics of naan bread, raita, dal. We will definitely go back. Only slight gripe was that some of the serving plates were so cumbersome that it was hard to share our main courses without running out of table space!

The HousePosted on 05 February 2009
Lovely. A treat for midweek lunch, full of mums and babies but they manage to maintain the nice cosy atmosphere. Delicious food - soups, puddings, sandwiches - haven't had a bad thing there yet.

Wrights Findlater HowthPosted on 05 February 2009
It's a cosy place with a good atmosphere and should 'tick all the boxes'. However the food can be hit and miss. Chicken pasta and steak sandwich(special) were tasty if not spectacular. Fish and chips seemed to be done in a hurry and cod slightly undercooked. Thai curry tasty but not particularly authentic flavoured. Service seems to depend on what staff are on - some are delightful, others struggle to communicate. Overall a pleasant enough experience, but don't expect any wow factor with your meals.

Pricey, even by luxury standards.
We ate here on a Saturday night as a special occasion and fully prepared to push the boat out price wise. However our pleasure at all the positives - beautiful space, wonderful staff, faultless service - was somewhat diminished by the mind blowing prices. I had a lobster ravioli to start which if pushed I could have swallowed in one bite and it came in at a cool 44 euro. Mains were better value, we had the duck for two which was truly delicious. Amuse bouches and petit fours, all the little 'extra's' were wonderful, I just wish there had been a little recognition of differences between starters/ desserts and the main course prices. I've eaten in Michelin restaurants a few times, not many, and I would say that some of the dishes, not all, were worthy of the title.

DeepPosted on 17 November 2008
Visited on a Sat night and added 2 people to table (4 to 6) in the afternoon, no problem. Nice atmosphere with some unusual art. No spirits menu so couldn't have gin and tonics but they still managed an Irish coffee afterwards.
Starter platters were great for sharing- hot calamari, mussels, smoked salmon, etc. Main course of fish & chips came with tasty pea puree, a little overbattered but the batter was tasty and the chips delicious. Desserts were rich and indulgent, we only had room for one. A fun place which stacks up well against Howth competition, doesn't take itself so seriously but serves up good food.

Kinara RestaurantPosted on 13 October 2008
Authentic flavours using spices rather than heat. Some dishes can be a little bland if you're used to spicy Indian food. Always busy and quite crowded - don't go for an intimate private conversation, but the atmosphere is good. Lots of choice and a brave effort at incorporating Irish produce into an ethnic menu.

Casa Pasta (Howth)Posted on 13 October 2008
Fantastic for families - busy busy so try to reserve, they have a great kids menu and always a few specials alongside the favourites. Cheerful and professional service, feels like an Italian restaurant should. Kids can colour on the tablecloths and parents can enjoy red wine, good food and a buzzy atmosphere.

One Pico RestaurantPosted on 13 October 2008
Excellent all round, nice ambience and very professional staff. Varied and far reaching wine list. Menu has a good balance too, just enough choice to satisfy everyone. Couldn't fault the place.

King Sitric Fish RestaurantPosted on 12 October 2008
Very disappointing given the huge prices. Front of house pushed us in the direction of a couple of dishes which were very poor - tempura prawns which was frankly a load of popcorn prawns thrown around some absolutely plain noodles and a bottle of Kikkoman soy sauce plonked on the table. Appalling. Main turbot very bland, again for the high price. Pudding not available as on the menu but best of all the courses and nice petit fours. I've eaten here last year and had a great meal, don't know what was going on last night. Also waited an hour for our table. Must do better!
