Myself & a friend went for lunch Saturday two weeks ago after I purchased a Menupages voucher online. The food was absolutely fabulous. I had Seafood Chowder for Starter, which is one of my favourites anyway, but I have to say this was the nicest I have ever tasted. I went on to have the Pork Schnitzel for main course with apple & red cabbage and again this was a lovely dish, my only complaint being that I was so full from the fabulous chowder and fresh breads that was placed on our table that I couldn't fully enjoy it because of my full stomach! Dessert was the best I've had in a long time, Warm Banoffie Sundae with Whiskey Ice Cream....to die for! My friend had the same dessert and Goats Cheese Terrine for starter which was lovely and fancy Fish & chips with mushy peas & tartar sauce for mains. The fish was slightly greasy which we were surprised at, but we weren't bothered enough about it to send it back so it wasn't too bad! All in all amazing value for money with the voucher I purchased. Drinks are expensive but it is the Four Seasons so that was to be expected. I'm still thinking about the chowder!!!! That's just how good it was. Oh and by the way, every member of staff was brilliant, so welcoming & friendly and helpful, 5 star service for a 5 star hotel!

As always, on my most recent visit to Elephant & Castle last Saturday, the food was delicious, the service very good and friendly, and the price extremely reasonable! Can safely say this place is one of my favourites in all of Dublin :-)

Great food, great service & great value. Always a favourite, my family live just minutes walk from Corks and we all frequent it regularly. None of us have ever had a complaint, not ever a rumble of unhappiness any time we've been! Would highly recommend to everyone!

I love Stoops, the atmosphere is really warm & the food is always fantastic. The only critisism I have about this restaurant (which is an important critisism) is the service. Its a pity because its a real thorn in the crown, otherwise I would give it a perfect score, but the staff leave you completely to your own devices when you walk in. You really have to catch their attention to a) ask for a table and b) order a drink while you wait, and there is always a wait because you can't reserve a table.
When our table was ready on my recent visit last week, we were simply told 'your table is ready right at the back' and we were pointed down towards it with no one actually showing us where it was. Once we ordered our starter & main course, I could not get the attention of anyone for love or for money to order more sides & more drinks. I had to walk up to the bar to order and the girl looked at me like I had 10 heads. Now this could possibly be understandable if they were totally run off their feet, and although it was busy they were not bombarded. I really think the staff are chaotic and not very attentive, which does dampen the experience.

NEVER AGAIN!! Arranged to have dinner with two friends at Il Corvo last night.! From start to finish every aspect was terrible. We firstly ordered cokes, which turned out to be completely flat and tasted as if it was out of an old coke bottle left open for weeks! The waiter actually changed them for us straight away which was fine but much worse was to come! The starter of chickens wings tasted like they had been reheated and were completely lacking any type of sauce. The main course of Carbonara arrived with NO sauce AT ALL!! Had to ask for extra portions of sauce which were bland and unseasoned. Even the desserts were vile, fake hard cream that tasted of plastic sat atop of COLD fruit crumble. Just terrible, this reataurant has completely gone downhill, the only redeeming feature was the nice young waiter who served us. As I said......NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Cactus Jacks (Middle Abbey St)Posted on 14 October 2008
Myself & my boyfriend visited Cactus Jacks last night for dinner. I was looking forward to trying it out as we both love Mexican food. It was so disappointing. The food, although it did what it said on the tin, was completely tasteless and slightly overpriced for what we got. I ordered some sides and they looked like they had been sitting out in the kitchen for at least two days. The food did not taste fresh. The atmosphere was not great, however it was a Monday evening so thats to be expected. The staff were friendly, but the food was a complete let down. Its a shame as I'm always on the lookout for a nice Mexican restaurant. Save your money and try somewhere else.
