Bewley's CaféPosted on 04 June 2010
Have been here before a few times with friends purely because some of them have special dietary requirements and this place caters for them. Our visit last night was the worst we've had and to be honest I won't be returning. Our waiter seemed friendly at first however after an hour and a half had passed and we had just recieved our starter we began to question him about the delay. His reply was unapologetic and cheeky. Another half an hour passed and we finally got our main courses, sadly it did not come with any apology for the delay. His attitude was undesireable to say the least but he did offer to give two of us free desserts, however it was after 10pm at this stage and we did not feel like any after all the waiting. The waiter's attitude did not improve and he charged us full price for our meals. Two of us had chosen the set menu which seems good at €15 for 3 courses. IT IS NOT. Each dish is smaller than it would normally be and ours tasted mediocre, very disappointing. Again at the till we expressed our displeasure but all we were told is that it was a busy night...we left no tip and will not be returning!

Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & GrillPosted on 26 May 2010
10 of us went for dinner here to celebrate a milestone birthday. We had requested the best table in the house in advance - it is a beautiful round table by the window. So glad we reserved this as none of the other tables in the place are anywhere as nice. The staff were all very professional and attentive. We all ordered off the set menu. The food was nice but someone in the kitchen seems very fond of olives...they were in everything! No extra veg or potatoes etc accompany the dishes. The food was nice but SO over priced even on the set menu. Smoked Salmon starter is melt in the mouth!

Dante (Dundrum)Posted on 27 April 2010
This place is good for a quick bite after shopping or before the cinema. The pizzas all sounded lovely on the menu and the half-in-half option was very useful. At first glance I thought our pizzas were a bit small but in the end I couldn't manage to finish mine! Really tasty, however some of the cheese on top was not melted so this turned me off slightly, and also the parma ham was one big slice ontop - I would have preffered it cut up. Not much atmosphere, best really for a quick bite, no hanging around! Good value. Oh and for those of you coca cola drinkers, they only serve Pepsi!

Le Bon CrubeenPosted on 26 April 2010
Celebrated a birthday here over the weekend. Was a bit dubious about the restaurant as it is difficult to know from the outside of the place what it will be like inside. I would recommend a pre dinner drink in the Celt next door. Then enter into the restaurant through the adjoining door and witness the transformation! A relaxed, lively atmosphere, extremely attentive staff. I did not think the menu was anything special but the starter and main course I chose (fish cakes & sea bass) were delicious! I got as near as I could to licking the plate without being frowned at by the other diners! House white wine was very tasty, as were the desserts. However another person at my tabel ordered the steak and said it was just mediocre. I agree with another reviewer who says the chips aren't great. Despite these two complaints we had a great meal!

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK Temple Bar)Posted on 22 April 2010
This was my second time eating in this particular GBK. I decided to go for one of the vegetarian options and my companion had the regular cheese burger. My falafel burger was delicious, the sauces that came with it really added to the taste. Likewise the regular cheese burger was cooked to perfection. Both burgers were accompanied by a simple salad, the huge plus to this salad was the fact that it was freshly prepared. It was obvious that the lettuce leaves were from a head of lettuce and not a packet. This little detail made all the difference. It seems to be possible to please everyone here as you can have a burger with out the bun, or any of the other ingredients you may not like. Staff were friendly and helpful. Not mad about the decor inside, reminds me of a cheap cafeteria.

Mulino'sPosted on 21 February 2010
Took my elderly grandmother here for lunch. Booked a table just 2 hours previous and asked for a window seat. My request was accomodated, the staff were very pleasant. The lunch time menu is very good value for money and all 3 of our party found something they liked on the menu. Food was nice but not amazing. Have been here before, just when it opened and it has improved since but still has a way to go.

Port House PintxoPosted on 21 February 2010
The perfect choice for a Romantic meal or to catch up with friends. The menu has something for everyone and the prices should suit any budget. The decor of the place is very intimate and cosy, however if you are seated near to the door onto their outside area it may be a bit drafty! Take some time to relax, enjoy the food, wine & atmosphere and be transported far from chilly Dublin! PS - the toilets have to be seen to be believed!

McHugh’s Wine & Dine RestaurantPosted on 24 August 2009
I have been here a few times now and have never been disappointed. The place is always kept very clean and tidy, and the decor is very tasteful. The staff are all very professional and helpful. However the best thing about this place is the food. The menu has great variety and is good value. There is something to suit everyone, even the lunchtime menu is very good. Homecut chips are the best I've ever had in a reastaurant but over all everything on the menu is really tastey. Will definetly go back again.

SabaPosted on 24 August 2009
This place was buzzing on firday night at about 9.30pm. Very friendly and efficient staff. Great to have the bar area for a pre dinner drink. A table by the window is the best. The food was delicious, the menu has some very unusual options but caters for a wide range of tastes. Wine menu is also impressive. Good value, great service and lovely food!

Casa Pasta (Clontarf) more than just pastaPosted on 21 August 2008
Decided to go here for a quick dinner mid week. Despite the weather and the off peak time, the place was very busy.Service was good but a bit slow because there was only one waitress and one barman.Did not like the way all the tables were squashed in,nobody had any privacy. The food and the prices were average which is exactly what I was expecting, nothing fancy but did the job.

Elephant & CastlePosted on 28 July 2008
Staff kindly held us a table here on a busy friday evening at around 7pm, although once we placed our order the food was slow coming. Worth the wait though as when it finally did come it was delicious. Chicken wings were a generous portion size and the salads the rest of us had were beautiful. Do not go here in a rush though, be prepared to wait but it pays off in the end.

Cape Greko (Malahide)Posted on 23 July 2008
Very impressed with this restaurant, there were 6 of us altogether. EVERYONE at the table enjoyed their meal, the food was delicious. There are so many different dishes to choose from on the menu. Good wine menu also. Very friendly and efficient staff, fair price, lovely table and convenient location for DART etc. Quite busy so there was a good buzz in the place. All in all we really enjoyed our night and will definitely go again. Cannot think of any complaints. Would recommend Ouzo for after your meal.

Millstone, A Dublin RestaurantPosted on 23 July 2008
Ate at this restaurant with family and friends, a party of 10. We had the whole of the upstairs to ourselves on a Monday night. Selection of food was unusual and different with something to suit all tastes, everyone enjoyed their meal. The ice cream on the dessert menu was nicer then usual and the chocolate cake with champagne sorbet is amazing. Service was excellent, interior decor was beautiful and the price was fair. Would return without hesitation.
