Went for Friday night margarita’s … and the rest !
Cocktails were amazing and the food was even better. Had to wait from 8 to 10.30 for a table on a Friday night, which gave a bit too much time for pre-dinner drinks, but it was still a great night. (of course it was!)
Everything on the menu looked great, so i asked the waiter to recommend a starter and main .. which were Yellow Fin Tuna and the Fish Noodle main. (details below). My boyfriend went for the chorizo to start which was amazing, i would definitely order that next time and then the pork belly for mains, some would say not very Mexican but it was delish !
The décor in the place was very trendy .. atmosphere was great. Service was excellent.
I can’t wait to go back, only thing i will definitely be going as a group so that we can reserve a table and not wait two and a half hours to be served and secondly so we can get a table and not be put at the bar.
What we ordered:
Atún: yellow fin tuna sashimi, pickled cucumber, chipotle mayo, habanero mustard, crispy shallots.
Chorizo: pork sausage, queso, crema, salsa habanero.
Fideo con Mariscos: grilled fish, langoustines, mussels, clams, chile bisque, fideo noodles.
Panceta de Cerdo: pork belly, corn pudding, grilled pickled carrot, Chicharrón.

The YardPosted on 15 May 2012
LOVE this place.
Went on sat night after reading reviews on menu pages. Was staying in the Ferrcarrig for the weekend but wanted to get out of the hotel for a night. It is brilliant. Casual enough inside but the food was amazing. I will definitely be recommending it to anyone I know visiting wexford.
I had the duck and mango salad to start … gorgeous, but big enough to be a main course. (I wasn’t complaining!). Then out landed my main course, could have done with more time before this landed, Surf and Turf. It was just too much food.
I shared as much as I could and still couldn’t finish it, I’ve been to Argentina where steaks are served big, and this was well up there! But I did keep thinking I should bring my dad here, he would love it.
We stayed for ages, had two bottles (between two of us)! And the atmosphere was great. I did get a fright at one stage, about 15 girls walked in with a ‘bride to be’ sash leading the parade, but they didn’t take over the restaurant or take from the general mood, thankfully.
Looking forward to my next night in wexford to go back.

The Chili ClubPosted on 15 May 2012
Sunday night thai green curry - best i've had in Dublin !
I always order my curries extra hot, i'm a bit of a chilli fiend, and Chili club did it Aces!! most places are too afriad to load on the chili's for the poor irish people but not here, if you like your food extra spicy this is the place to go!
Staff were friendly but not intrusive, very helpful when asked questions but keep a distance from your otherwise.
We had a mixed apetizer to start, in my opinion fairly standard but had a delicious bottle of pinot and the thai green curry jsut made my night!
Will definitely be back.

Rustic StonePosted on 15 May 2012
Glad I gave rustic stone a second chance … Given that it’s Dine in Dublin week it was a good excuse to get out of the office for lunch.
Ate off the Raw menu, which is food that is cooked below 45 degrees so it holds it’s natural taste and nutrition. We ordered four small dishes between two of us, marinated prawn with avocado and cucumber, Duck with celery, orange and green olives, Mango slices with coriander crab and Carpaccio of salted beef. Then table food - truffle fries! And most importantly a glass of Pinot – the sun was shining after all!!
I have to say the food was absolutely Amazing i will definitely be returning for the raw menu again. And i have to note the service was much better this time round, even if the waitress did forget to offer us the special €15 board that was on offer for dine in dublin.
We both ordered dessert too, chocolate soup which a friend had recommended the last night I went but I was too stuffed after the steak! And I ordered the frozen youghart and sorbet. This came in four flavours, natural and raspberry which were delicious, then Fennell – which I couldn’t decide if I loved or hated it and then for the so healthy it shouldnt exist – carrot!!! Other than adding nice colour to the plate I couldn’t warm to it.

Lemon (Dawson St)Posted on 15 May 2012
Lemon is great for a casual bite for lunch, its right across the road from me in work, popped over last tuesday for a bite.
My favourite dish by far is the Mexicano Extra - Melted cheddar, streaky bacon, tomato, salsa & guacomole.
Service to me is very fast food, nothing special or memorable. But the pancakes taste good if that's what your after.
I think next time im gonna go for one with chocolate and strawberries outside with a coffee ...

BearPosted on 15 May 2012
Went to try the newly talked about Jamie heaslip and Joe Macken restaurant aka Bear on Thursday night after work.
Atmosphere was very similar to that of crack bird, lively and upbeat with friendly welcoming staff. Place has had bit of a renovation with a new bar on the upper floor. Have to say, the menu definitely threw me. If I don’t understand something on a menu I will generally ask the waiter/ waitress, but in this case I had to put my hands up and say I pretty much didn’t have a notion what the majority of the meats on this menu were going to be like, onglet, bavette, skirt, flank … and I wasn’t alone!
The waitress was overly helpful and explained all the cuts to us, after hearing a few terms like skirt and underbelly I was starting to wonder what the hell to order .. so I left it in the waitresses capable hands to recommend a dish, and so we all had the Rosary. We also got a bottle of red and 3 sides, salt and vinegar fries, million dollar fries and some horseradish slaw. Oh and for chilli freaks like myself the Habanero hot sauce! Just realising now i should have got some to bring home.
Food arrived, it tasted divine. I’m not sure if I would ever attempt to cook this cut of meat at home myself, but left to the experts I would definitely order it again.
No desserts on the menu – fine by me but one of the girls did want some Jamie Heaslip flavoured ice-cream !!!
All in all, a good place to grab a casual bite with friends, not to pricy and you might even spot a ruby player or two! (if you’re into that).

Cinnamon RestaurantPosted on 15 May 2012
Ate in Ranelagh’s new Cinnamon restaurant at the weekend. Just popped in for brunch on Sunday, have to say I will definitely be back.
The interior of the place has an old airy feel to it it looks like it’s very much still under construction though.
Brunch menu – loads to choose from; I had scrambled eggs with portobello mushrooms and Tadhg had French toast with maple syrup. Both delicious.
Waitress did forget the bacon with the French toast and seemed v confused about what to do when asked for the bacon, taking the plate of French toast to bring back to kitchen but before she had it even off the table dropping it back down and saying i’l just get the bacon on another plate. Early teething problems that will hopefully be ironed out as this is a great new addition to ranelagh.

BANG RestaurantPosted on 15 May 2012
Tasting Menu is definitely worth a try!
Had been to Bang once before but went back for their 7 course tasting Menu. Definitely worth it.
Just ask for a good table. We were put at the end of the stairs and it was just that busy spot where everyone is passing you on the way out or to the bathrooms and when the door opened upstairs you could feel a chill …
That said, the tasting menu was amazing, I loved every single course we got, standing out especially was the foie gras and the John Dory courses.
We went with the ‘plus wine’ option and I really enjoyed the first three, but then they started to get sweet and I just don’t like sweet wine. If you’re not a sweet wine / port lover I would recommend picking your own wine.
Also, given it was a tasting menu i would have loved if the waitresses had taken more time to explain what the food we were eating was ...
But food was amazing.

Olesya's Wine BarPosted on 04 December 2011
Went to Olesya Wine bar last night with the girls, we just wanted something light to eat to start a night of festive drinking! We had a large couch area downstairs, cosy and private.
We then ordered a few bottles, sparkling wine, pinot grigio and the masi, all of which we got seconds of, and all delish, but nothing on the food that was about to land. We ordered two platters to share which came with breads and crackers.
The Deluxe Platter & the Seafood Platter, Including a bit of everything above. Farmhouse cheese, Cured Meats, Sausages, Hams, Pate, Cheese and Chicken Roulettes, Olives, Pesto Dip. Salmon Gravadlax, Warn King Prawns, Balik Tsar Nicolaj, Herring St. Petersburg & Red Caviar Blinis.
The bill wasn’t outrageous, for 8 of us it came to less than 40euro each. Will definitely be returning!
