777Posted on 06 June 2012
Went here with a group of 9 last Thurs. we sat inside the door on a round table which was slightly cramped but not too much of an issue. We started with a round of cocktails which are pricey at €11 but delicious nonetheless. We ordered several starters to share amongst us taquitos, prawns, pork all delicious for mains I had pork belly and we ordered several sides corn on the cob, papas bravas. I also tried a colleagues steak and I can't fault any dishes the food was genuinely fantastic ALL OF IT! Wine list isn't too hot since there's a bigger focus on cocktails and tequila but we had a nice Sauvignon blanc which did the trick. Nobody opted for dessert but the filter coffee they serve is surprisingly good! The bill was probably a tad greater than expected and there's no doubt it's a pricey meal but if you fancy a treat it's well worth a visit. Food is really top drawer and although it's small and slightly cramped 777 is a super new addition to Dublin dining. I'll defo be back anyway!!

PichetPosted on 25 May 2012
Tried Pichet for my mothers birthday and had high expectations. When we arrived there was a good crowd there and the restaurant itself is really nicely done and design etc is pretty cool! We ordered our mains and I had a rabbit terrine which was good and for mains I had beef which was also very good no complaints at all, well cooked, presented and very tasty. Wine selection is good too and there are some nicely priced good wines available. We had arranged a cake for my mothers birthday so we asked a waiter if they could light the candle and bring it over which they duly did but we were very abruptly told that we couldn't have it for dessert. We had no intention of having it for dessert and had ordered desserts already so the manner in which it was dealt with was disappointing and ticked me off slightly. Ah well, dessert and coffee was nice and when the bill came it was no more expensive than any other good brasserie in the city. There was something missing however, maybe it was just the night that was in it so I intend to go to Pichet again and give it another whirl with one of the girls and see does it live up to what I've been told by lots of other people!

The Market BarPosted on 22 May 2012
Whenever I'm meeting my friends in town we always choose Market Bar as our first port of call for some yummy wine and tapas. There are a lot of good tapas restaurants in the city but none better than here. Patatas bravas, Meatballs, Calamari, Nachos, Mixed salad are the usual suspects and there is rarely a crumb leftover. They have an Argentinian Malbec which I love to wash down the food. The atmosphere is lovely, it's big and airy and on Sundays especially it's very popular with parents and young kids who can run around without annoying other customers. Staff are great and food arrives quickly for those who need to get in and out quickly. Overall it's a cool spot in a cool part of town and I will return again and again!
