Mitsuba Japanese RestaurantPosted on 20 May 2011
After reading the wonderful reviews not just from Menupages but food critics, I was really looking forward to dinner. I was quite disappointed. Yes the sushi was good with generous portions and the menu looked fantastic. I was then told that 3/4 of the menu is lunch and the last 1/4 (that I had looked at and thought was overpriced) is the dinner menu. I really wanted teppanyaki and was told I had to be seated at the teppenyaki table (which looked great). Had the steak and prawns which was ok but quite European in style which for the price I could have gotten somewhere else and better cooked and presented. I would go back FOR LUNCH as seemed to be very reasonable and great choice but definitely would not go back for dinner.

Masterson's Steak House & Wine BarPosted on 24 September 2010
Really good value early bird with large portions. The steak was delicious and cooked perfectly and the chocolate cake was delicious. Really lovely service and great being able to get all wines in carafe as well as bottle. Super busy and great buzz. Will definitely be back.

The Harbourmaster Restaurant & BarPosted on 16 August 2010
Was here for lunch on Saturday by accident and they were very accommodating with our request to sit outside in the sun even though they seemed short staffed. Lovely food- great chips! and very nice atmosphere. Brilliant value for money and I will be back soon.

BANG RestaurantPosted on 16 August 2010
Good experience of the new Bang Cafe, lovely food and good atmosphere. Only problem was they did not seem to know about a promotion they had where you received a free bottle of prosecco with 2 main courses ordered. They seemed very reluctant to pour glasses even though I had asked about it on the phone when booking. The early bird menu was very well priced and very good size of portions.

Cape Greko (Malahide)Posted on 16 August 2010
Only my second visit here in a year as had forgotten about it living in Dublin city centre. This restaurant is fantastic. Great service- very friendly, delicious, authentic Greek-Cypriot food and wines and great value for money. The meze platter is a perfect starter for 3 to share with a big Greek salad. I then had the mixed souvlaki which was delicious and hugely portioned. Everyone in my family (who have lived in Cyprus) left feeling wonderfully nostalgic and wanting more. Bravo!

Fire RestaurantPosted on 16 August 2010
Went to Fire for lunch with family. Arrived at 1- we had reserved through menupages and asked for outside seating. Should not have worried as we were the only people in the whole restaurant. Due to this service was faultless and food delicious. Small detail is the dishes were a little small for the price. However the antipasti platter on the terrace in the sunshine was perfect.

Bistro OnePosted on 23 June 2010
Had a fabulous dinner here on a gorgeous Saturday evening. Staff were excellent, loved how it seemed to be full of locals, food was delicious. It was a little expensive but don't mind paying for the freshness and local produce used. Asparagus risotto was a taste of summer and poached salmon great too. Big plus is all wines in 25cl and 50 cl carafes as well as bottle. Great value and nice touch for those who want more than a glass but less than a bottle!

Campo de' FioriPosted on 30 September 2009
Went for a potential in laws meeting my family dinner so it needed to be perfect. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere is great, steaks are fantastic. Everything was very Italian including the family who run it and the chef who won't cook the Fiorentina steak (amazing) anything above medium rare. Great wine selection and service. It is a little more expensive but well worth it for the experience.

Restaurant Ten FourteenPosted on 10 July 2009
Would recommend to anyone. The early bird is especially good value. Were very accomdating letting us move inside and then back out with our wine after dinner as restaurant was a bit stuffy and we were very full! Lovely atmosphere- full on a Monday evening.

The Winding Stair RestaurantPosted on 01 July 2009
Went for a Saturday lunch in this charming restaurant with a friend from Scotland. It was an excellent choice as had a brilliant 'Irish' menu. The specials especially were fantastic. Had a lovely table by the window overlooking the bridge and the river- couldn't have been a nicer setting.
The only fault I would have is the food was a little too overpriced for what was essentially a nice honest meal.Would maybe have had 2 starters instead of a starter and a main as starters were delicious and huge portions.
However if you had to pay for setting, service and atmosphere I think it was worth it.

The Bull & Castle Beerhall and Steakhouse (FXB)Posted on 01 July 2009
Went with my dad and partner for dinner when he was over visiting- we just got the early bird menu and it was excellent value for money. The men had huge bowls of mussels for starters and I had the pate which was delicious. Partner and I had steak for main and Dad had steak and Guinness pie. All very tasty although pepper sauce tasted a bit funny.
Atmosphere was great and was cool to be able to go upstairs to the beer hall and relax with a delicious selection of beers/ales that Dad loved. Definitely go there again.

Millstone, A Dublin RestaurantPosted on 16 June 2009
Headed to the Millstone for the first time for 'brunch' on Saturday morning. Not sure if people know about it as was not too busy for what was a thoroughly enjoyable meal. A lovely, cosy restaurant, the perfect place to nurse a hangover and set you up for the day. My partner had the full Irish with extra sausage option (lovely touch) and I had smoked salmon and poached egg. Was absolutely delicious and the service never intrusive yet friendly.
Will definitely be back to try their dinner menu!

The Market BarPosted on 16 June 2009
Quite disappointing after reading all the wonderful reviews, I was really looking forward to having some top quality tapas with good atmosphere. I did not like the fact there is no music as tables were pretty close together and kept feeling as if we were being listened to! The tapas was nice enough but not worth the price tag. There are other tapas bars in the city with better food at a decent price! The bar area can be fun.
