Great wine list but unfortunately its a most unfriendly place. Food is boring and unimaginative and the place is a bit jaded. Very unimpressed and wouldn't go back.

Saba could be a really great place if they could perhaps work on the service a wee bit more. The waiters tend to forget about you as do they're managers who very often come to schmooze the table, take the order and forget about it which has happened me more than once! However the food is very good and the prices are reasonable. So check this place out its defo worth the trip.

Took a day out of the city today and chose Dalkey, wandered into the Guinea Pig which advertises itself as a fish restaurant but has meat dishes if your not a big fish fan. Found the staff to be really nice but the food not too great. However if your a fan of old school this place has it all, doilies on the plates and bread and butter pudding, not to mention heavy handed measures of whiskey in your Irish coffee. Good atmosphere and a real feeling of being somewhere the locals hang out.

Went to Chez Max a week ago to have a goodbye dinner with my friend who's moving away and in our sombre mood we arrived to the restaurant.. However chez max lifts your spirits with a buzzy French bistro atmosphere with music to match. The food was simple but great and the wine list is short but perfectly suited. Definitely going back.

Peploes used to be one of my favourite haunts but as time goes on unfortunately its gone a little down hill. The staff are quite unfriendly and stuffy and not too attentive, however they are a bit too attentive to the point of rude when they want the table back!
