One of the best value restaurants I have been to in a long time. It was nice to go to a Portuguese restaurant for a change. If anybody has been to Mr. Chicken in Almancil you will love this place. My overall rating would be 8/10. The food was great and there really was a huge variety to choose from. So what did I deduct 2 marks for??? In someways its a bit like McDonald's. You go up to the counter, order your food and pay for it. A meal is then served to your table about 15 minutes later. Great if you only want a main course or a starter. But if you want a dessert or coffee you have to go through the whole process all over again. The other negative was the chips were cold. That said, we had 2 half chickens with peri peri fries, a portion of peri peri wings (10) with fries and all you can drink soft drinks. Total cost for the three of us 47 Euro. Really good value for money and I will certainly go again.

I brought a client here for lunch. Luckly it was based on his recommendation! We sat down and had a look through the menu. I have to say it didnt look bad. However, when we went to order we were told the Chef was off sick today and they only had soup and sandwiches. Ok. We both had a sandwich. It was probably the worst one I have ever had! Toasted Chicken and onion. How could you get it wrong. The bread was damp, and the chicken was all dark meat. We had two coffees, bowl of soup and two cokes. 28 Euro

Siam Thai (Dundrum)

Siam Thai (Dundrum)

This is probably the best Thai I have ever been to. The menu is fantastic. I particularly like the way the menu is laid out. For example, on the menu, you will chillies with ginger. You then choose whether you wish to have it with Beef, Chicken, Prawns or just vegetables. Tom Yum soup is gorgeous. I could quite happily have it as my one meal a day if I was stranded on a desert island The Chicken pad thai is as good as I have had anywhere in the world. If you like it spicy, just ask for the chillies, sugar, fish sauce and lime juice! I would suggest that if you are going to go to the SIAM Thai that go between Wednesday to Sunday They have a piano bar upstairs and it is a great place to relax and have a few drinks after your meal.

Kites

Kites

I was given a gift voucher for Christmas for Kites and I decided that I would take my daughter there as a special treat. I would have to say we could not fault the food or the service. The only reservation that I would have about Kites is the cost. We each had a starter, main course and a dessert. Three diet cokes between us. Total cost 98 Euro. It is a nice place, but you can certainly get better food, at a lower cost else where

The Real Gourmet Burger - Dun Laoghaire

The Real Gourmet Burger - Dun Laoghaire

What can I say... It’s a High Class Burger Bar! I had been dying to try the Burger Bar for a while and it was really good. On the plus side, Staff were extremely helpful, the quality of the food was much better that some other Burger Bars I have been to. On the down side, I am a big man, and trying to sit in the schoolhouse chairs was a little awkward. But that’s not there fault!!! Chips were reheated instead of fresh. However I would recommend you give this place a whirl.

I have eaten here several times over the past year and I have to say I always enjoy meal. Three of us went for dinner hear the other night and we all really enjoyed our meals. If you like spicy food ask them to make it spicy.... but be warned it will be spicy. I had a lovely clear spicy mushroom soup Tom Yam Hed to start. The others had a chicken satay and Thai spring roll. For the main course, we had Thai Green Chicken curry, Chicken chilli Basil and Pad Thai, they were all fantastic. The whole meal came to just under 90 Euro. No Coffee, no Dessert. A little expensive, but the quality of the food is fantastic. The portions are not very big, but on the plus side you don’t walk away hungry. This is definitely a restaurant I would recommend.

Foru of went for dinner in this restaurant. Service was great and our waitress was very helpful. However, we went for the food. We all had a mixtures of Starters and Main courses so we all got try a bit everything. The Food was fantastic, but VERY VERY Expensive. 3 Course meal, with a bottle of Cheap Wine, 25€ cost 250 Euro!! The only bad part of the meal was the cheese board that we ordered. It was terrible. The Crackers / Biscuits that we received were disgusting and the cheese was plan and dry. We informed the waiter of this when the bill arrived and he could not care less. Would I Go Back??? It certainly would not be one of my first choices and I could certainly find restaurants that are better value for money
