10 of us from work went for lunch in the Anvil last Friday. The menu is great, lots of really mouthwatering dishes to choose from and the wine list is moderatly priced too which is always a bonus! We pre ordered our food by email due to time pressure so when we arrived, we sat down and the food arrived within minutes. Service is great and the food was delicious. I had the Anvil salad and while it was really tasty there wasn't a lot of it on the plate. The curry, paninis and chicken wings all got rave reviews and I have to admit I had a mild case of food envy. The coffee was great, good quality and a decent sized cup! The only niggle is the noise. I found it quite off putting that I couldn't hear anyone that wasn't sitting beside me. The ceilings are high and the accoustics are terrible, they might have to look at putting in some rugs or maybe some insulation because we all came out with ringing in our ears. All in all though, good food, not too pricey and great staff!
