This is a nice restaurant, excellent service and quality of food. They had an extensive lunch menu that would suit any diner- from brunch options, to sandwiches, salads as well as mains. I had the burger with cashed blue cheese and my friend had the braised beef blade. Both were served on a brioche bun. The beef blade was a substantial size for what one might think was a sandwich. It was so tender and flavoursome along with the celeriac remoulade which really complimented it. You could add chips, soup or a salad for €2 which was modestly priced. The burger was really good too but I had to send it back as there was a lot of pink meat and blood in it. Some people may like it like this so it was my personal preference as I like mince meat to be cooked through. I also don\'t like when the juicy blood soaks into the bun making it red. They didn\'t mind me asking to get it cooked a little more and even gave me a fresh portion of chunky fries when they returned. The burger was driving with cashed blue cheese and the burger itself was still nice and juicy. I thoroughly enjoyed it

Mak at D6
Fields Terrace, Charleston Rd, Dublin 6, Ranelagh, Dublin

I have been here and few times and the food is really good. It\'s on the pricey side for a Chinese as the main courses are the most of €20 each and then sides are extra. The early bird menu is good value thought and it is until 7. Two starters I would recommend are the BBQ ribs and the chicken wings (although they aren\'t on the early bird menu any more which is disapponting) . For mains the satay chicken and szechaun is gorgeous and the sweet & sour is very good too. We found the beef and black bean a little salty for our taste and the pork belly was disapponting. It needed more sauce and it needed to be served with some stir fried veg along with the pak choi. We didn\'t order dessert. One thing I have to say is that the chicken and beef is good quality and not the rubbery plastic over processed meat you get in some chinese restaurants and maybe that accounts for the increased cost so for that reason it\'s a cost I\'m willing to bear. Overall the service and quality of food is very good.

The Bistro @ Glenroyal Hotel
Straffan Road, Maynooth, Maynooth, Kildare

I\'ve had scones and coffee a few times in Shoda Cafe @ The Glenroyal and its worth a visit if your a scone person like me. They are somewhat pricey coming in at €2.75 each but I\'d rather pay that for a quality baked scones than less for an only ok one. There is a variety of scones to choose from. In fairness the scones are big and they are served with good quality help yourself raspberry or strawberry jam rather than cheap over set stuff you get in little prepared portions. There is butter of low low spread to choose from too. I had a nice large americano and my bill came to €5.90. The cafe is rustic and trendy in its decor and the staff are friendly, very well groomed and I love their uniforms. Will definitely go back X

Oak Alley Restaurant and Cocktail Bar
Main Street, Maynooth, Kildare, Maynooth, Kildare

This spacious and child friendly restaurant is the perfect venue for lunch. The food was excellent quality and affordable with a range of lunch starters from €5 each and mains for €10 as well as more upmarket options should one wish to delve a little deeper into their pockets. We enjoyed the BBQ wings to start follows by fish of the day(hake) and a burger. The home cooked thick cut fries and mattered hake were crisp and freshly cooked. A nice bar man agreed to make me an espresso martini which wasn\'t on the lunch menu and he did a surperb job. We didn\'t order dessert but they had an extensive dessert menu and I\'d have been happy to eat any of the first 4 desserts listed which isn\'t a bad complaint. The staff were friendly and there was a nice atmosphere. It\'s roomy and spacious so it was ideal for young children in buggies as I didn\'t feel we were invading the next tables space. There is a large toilet downstairs with baby changing facilities. I will definitely be going back

The Terrace Restaurant @ NCH
National Concert Hall, Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I really enjoyed the afternoon tea in the NCH. The scones and pastries were really nice. The scones were light and airy on the inside and crisp on the outside, the lightly flavoured vanilla cream that was served with the scones was delish. The sandwiches were nice too but I left there was maybe not enough savoury items on the platter and too many sweet options. I think I would also present the 3 types of sandwiches on different breads- wrap/brown soda/loaf. Having said that the fillings in the sandwiches were very tasty. I loved the china cup and saucer and the coffee was really good too. I had afternoon tea there twice and the second time we got a fresh linen tablecloth and this was really nice as the first time I was there we had a plastic table cloth and it was tea stained so it took from the overall experience a little. Overall this was a very enjoyable experience and the outdoor terrace area is really nice.

Citron @ Fitzwilliam Hotel
The Fitzwilliam Hotel, St Stephen's Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

The food was amazing- each dish was bursting with flavour and the combination of flavours in each dish complimented one another extremely well. The presentation was simply exquisite. It is very reasonably priced considering the high standard of food and quality service we recieved. I cannot understand why a restaurant of the standand with such a central location is not booked out every night. I will definitely recommend Citron to my friends and I look forward to returning again soon
