This was our second visit in six months and again, table was not ready when we arrived and we were left without glassware when we were actually seated. The menu was much better with all dishes perfect for the season. The venison and pork belly received rave reviews. Only let down was the pheasant, very dry despite being served with a jus. Blue cheese and spinach ravioli to start was lovely, pigeon delicious and the warm smoked salmon was very tasty. Would definitely return however the restaurant does not have an appropriate place for people to wait while a table is being set which should be looked at as it is very uncomfortable standing around the front door and around other peoples tables.

Not the first visit to Odessa however disappointed. Food was fine however not as nice as it has been on previous visits. Main was slightly burnt but still edible. Staff were great.

Bodega! (Waterford)
54 John Street, Waterford, Waterford City, Waterford

Fabulous! Group of ten, all delighted with the food they received. Started with the prawns followed by the roast chicken, delicious. Great service and lovely staff. Will definitely go back.

Bon Appetit
9 James Terrace, Malahide, Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Fabulous! Food was delicious and although not busy, the atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommend the beef carpaccio and the pork - absolutely stunning. Desserts are slightly disappointing in variety but still good.

Rotana Cafe Restaurant
31 South Richmond Street, Dublin 2, Portobello, Dublin

Work night out - big group to serve but staff were super. Very attentive and fast. Lovely food with a great variety. Shared a variety of starters which we would recommend so as to try all the good dishes. BYOB is also super - good value night out.

ZAO Thai Restaurant
96B Omni Park Shopping Centre, Swords road , North Dublin, Santry, Dublin

Quick decision to go for a meal - really good food. Only fault was that the vegetables with the main were slightly undercooked perhaps a personal preference. Quick service and good atmosphere. Will return.

Hartley's Restaurant
1 Harbour Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Sensational. Had a three course lunch with a cocktail to finish and not a fault can be found. The portions are perfectly sized and the service is attentive but not over the top. Looking forward to returning.

Diep le Shaker
55 Pembroke Lane, (Off Pembroke Street), Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Started with a fish cake which although full of flavour, was fried in too much oil leaving it somewhat soggy, portion size was huge. Followed this up with chicken and spring onion dumplings which were delicious. The chocolate brownie had far too much chilli which just overshadowed the rest of the meal and was inedible. Cocktails and wine were fab. Would definitely return however I would avoid the brownie at all costs.

Brogan's Bar and Restaurant
24 O'Connell Street, Ennis, Clare

Had lunch here while visiting Ennis. I had the garlic chicken with veg, chicken and potatoes were beautifully cooked while the cabbage was a lovely warming side. The carrots were a bit on the 'mushy' side and were clearly mashed before being properly drained. The stew was not what I would deem traditional stew but again was nice. The atmosphere was non-existent, assuming this was because it was New Years Day and people were not around however it did have an open fire which was lovely and cosy. The service was fine but not overly attentive.

Bay Restaurant
369 Clontarf Road, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin

Had heard great things but was disappointed. Started with prawns and was actually shocked that I received only 3 tiny prawns, very mean portion size. Followed this with the risotto and beef, was fine but I do think the risotto was under cooked while the beef overcooked. Dessert was delicious, beautiful fresh fruit, gooey meringue and fresh cream. My partner in crime had the sorbet and she also thought this was fabulous and fresh. Would not be a big fan of having so much nutritional information on the menu but this is obviously a style the restaurant is going for and suits some people. Did find the whole menu somewhat overpriced and expensive for the quality of the food. I was brought the wrong starter, we had to order the same drink twice before it arrived and the bill was incorrect.

Wrights Findlater Howth Restaurant

Delicious all around! Apple crumble could do with more apple but otherwise the entire people for 7 people was lovely. Service was prompt and pleasant and the food presentation perfect. Will definitely return.

Dada Restaurant
45 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Uneventful! The food was nice but nothing amazing. The main issue was with the service, the starters were from the set menu so no option which was fine but they were served as the main waiter was taking the order for our mains. Nobody had space to actually start eating and as we were a large group and out of politeness, we all waited for everyone to give their order before starting on what were now cold starters. The main waiter also interrupted a person in the middle of their speech to ask did we want tea or coffee. He could have waited two minutes. We were all also rushed out of the restaurant as they needed the table. They should not have taken a booking for such a big group if they really did not have the time to serve properly. The starter was different and was the only highlight of the meal. Everyone said Dadas was fine but nothing special. Disappointed as I had heard such good things!

The Morehampton Brasserie (Previously the The Restaurant @ Donnybrook Fair)

Lovely food with generous portions. Good variety on the lunch menu and a lovely, bright place to visit. Staff were friendly and would visit again.

JD's Steakhouse
4 Rathfarnham Road, Dublin 6W, Terenure, Dublin

Started with the deep fried brie, delicious and the portion was huge, would have preferred it without the bottled sweet chilli sauce. JDs chicken to follow was unreal! So good and a great hearty meal for the colder evening. Service was brilliant as was the price. Great value and will be back.

Dorans at the Beachcomber
179 Howth Road, North Dublin, Killester, Dublin

As a local resident, it is terrible to see such a good idea and opportunity wasted. This place is far too expensive for what you get. We were there mid-week and the place was dead quite and we were refused the early bird menu as we were maybe ten minutes late. The cost turned us off having dessert or returning. For the atmosphere, the place was dead, granted we were there midweek but the place was empty with the music being to low, boring and somewhat 'sad'. Service was ok although it would be hard for it to be bad when there was only us and maybe one other table. Calamari and fish cakes to start were nice and had lovely presentation. I had the traditional fish and chips. Again nice but nothing special. The pea and mint puree was inedible, mint far too strong. My partner in crime had a vegtable pasta dish which not only looked limp and dead but tasted very bland. The waitress did get distracted by another staff member and continued to ignore numerous attempts to get her attention and she then ultimately disappeared. We were also shocked to find out that there was an item from the main restaurant menu on the bar menu and it was cheaper.

Pacinos
18 Suffolk Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Amazing! The portion sizes were huge and every bit delicious as they looked. The food going to all tables looked great. I started with mozzarella sticks with a marinara sauce, so tasty and the breadcrumb batter was so light. The garlic bread with fresh mozzarella was so fresh and just lovely. The fillet steak with 'special sauce' was unreal, perfectly cooked and juicy to the last bits. The service all night was a bit patchy but the food, atmosphere and value can't be faulted so I will be returning.

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Our main issue, and it seems odd, was the service was far too fast. We felt rushed and although we were aware that they needed the table back by a certain time, we had ordered, received and ate both starters and mains within 35 minutes if not less. It made it difficult to enjoy the meal as there was little time for digestion, but one must eat the food while it is hot. The prawns for starter were amazing and served with a beautiful tomato chutney. This was followed by duck on risotto. The duck and the risotto separately would have been perfect. The sauce of the duck was just too heavy with the risotto (especially having had 30 seconds to digest the starter) and it was a shame as both were beautifully cooked. The presentation was also awkward. It was served in a traditional risotto bowl with the duck on top, it made it difficult to cut and not spill over the table. Cocktails were amazing and the house wine very nice. This was my second visit here and was enjoyable however I would not rush back if informed they required the table back by a set time as the evening became too rushed and uncomfortable as staff hovered.

The Upper Deck duplicate
Harbour Road, Above the Waterside Pub, Howth, Dublin

First arrived the place was empty however as the night went on and the place got busier, the atmosphere improved dramatically. The potato skins, ribs and buffalo wings were all delicious to start. The wings were a bit spicy for my pallet however the rest of the group found them very nice. The chowder was also had as a starter and apart from one iffy bit of fish , it was received well. For mains, I had the guacamole and bacon burger, really great combination. The surf n turf fajitas also went down a treat however we were left wondering why it was chicken and not beef served with the prawns. The steak that was had was cooked perfectly. Portions were very generous and overall it was a lovely meal. Will definitely return.

Pacifico Restaurant & Grill
Marine Court, The Green, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

I have been to this restaurant a good six times and on my last visit it has gone down hugely. The food was just awful and although good deals on the menu, not really worth it when the food is not the best and the atmosphere is pretty bad. Was very disappointed as it was my suggestion for our big group having visited a number of times previously and was let down

Moloughney's Clontarf
9 Vernon Avenue, North Dublin, Clontarf, Dublin

Had dinner here with five other people. Although the table was booked and confirmed, when we arrived it was not ready. When it was ready, we were shown to our table only for us to discover there were still glasses and some cutlery missing. The service was slow and as the restaurant did not seem that busy, this was surprising. It was also difficult to get the staffs attention. The food was nice and there was definitely not a problem on this end. Everyone did find that some items were overpriced for what you got. My starter was huge and very filling while another group members portion was tiny and pretty uneventful yet theirs was more expensive. Not likely to return in a hurry.

Toscana City Centre
3 Cork Hill, Dame Street (opposite Dublin Castle), Dublin City Centre, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

Second visit here and the food was as amazing as the first. Great value as the portions are huge and could not find fault with any of it. The service was a little bit slow but the restaurant was very busy with a great atmosphere so this was not a problem. Will be back.

Odessa
13 Dame Court, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

The atmosphere was great, place was really busy and enjoyable. Service was shaky at times however I do feel the waiter we had was new and still learning the ropes. I started with the crab and avocado risotto. The risotto and crab were delicious and the parmesan crisp was perfect however there was not even a hint of avocado, luckily the dish did not need it. My partner in crime started with the pate which tasted as nice as it looked. She followed this with the burger, huge but perfectly cooked to how she requested it. I had the chicken which came with creamed cabbage and a mushroom vol-au-vent in a sauce. The chicken was lovely and juicy, creamed cabbage with the bacon through it was a nice touch however the vol-au-vent let the dish down. There were far too many mushrooms, the vol-au-vent was ridiculously soggy and the sauce did not mesh well with the creamed cabbage. The two sauces were just over powering. The pecan pie for dessert was nice however it was so hard, one suspects it came directly from a freezer. My friend had the selection of ice-cream, all were lovely and the perfect palate cleanser. I would go back to Odessa as I have dined there three times and this is the first time I have found any kind of problem with the food, putting it down to an overly busy restaurant on a Saturday.
