Cornstore Cork crowned Hospitality Queen at Cork Food Festival

As Cork’s Irish Examiner Food Festival drew to close last Sunday, the Cornstore Cork were celebrating as they left Fitzgerald’s Park with one of five specially created awards by the Bridgestone Guide for this year’s event.

The Cornstore was awarded ‘Best Service/Hospitality’ by Bridgestone Guide editors William Barry and Joe McNamee, being described by McNamee as “friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable”. Speaking of the win, Cornstore Sales and Marketing Manager Mags O’Connor said, “We are delighted to be part of such a fantastic celebration of food but of course it is always nice to be acknowledged for our team’s hard work and dedication”.

17 of Cork’s best restaurants took part in the four day event along with many of the county’s top producers and suppliers. Attendees were treated to a selection of tastings from all participants, cooking demos from some of the countries biggest names in food such as Rachel Allen and Paolo Tullio, live musical entertainment and of course some welcome rays of sunshine. The Cornstore’s tasting menu included a Tiger Prawn Pil Pil starter with Pil Pil oil made from olive oil, roast garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper and some secret seasoning. The Pil Pil oil was on sale at their stand from their own brand ‘Cornstore At Home’ range of products. Main course was Harissa Spiced Monkfish with cous cous and coriander yogurt, while dessert was a choice of Lemon and Rhubarb Posset, or Raspberry & Milk Chocolate and Elderflower & White Chocolate Macarons.
