The May wine dinner promises an evening of palate provoking delight. We have the charismatic Joyce Austin, who owns New Zealand Boutique Wines in Auckland joining us for a decadent tour of New Zealand. She’ll be landing into Ireland straight from picking the 2012 harvest brimming with tales of vineyard life. You can expect a vivacious summary line-up textured whites, salivating aromatic and spicy savoury reds to top and tail the evening – from all corners of New Zealand. This is your chance to taste the rising stars, matched to a delicious four course menu and hear what makes them special from someone who lives, eats and breathes New Zealand every day. The evening is priced at €60 per person or €100 per couple.

Joyce is an ex Dubliner who has been living in the land of the Kiwis for the past 19 years and traverses the country to find great value wines. Her mantra is simple – to find wines that are packed with interest flavour and texture with a charming Artisan touch. She runs New Zealand Boutique Wines and some would say she has changed the face of New Zealand wine in Ireland over the past ten years. She knows the country and all its regions, history, varieties and tucked away sites like no one else in Ireland – and has a range of super wines that get better every year. The ragingly popular Sauvignon Blanc of course will be in our line – up, and expect a gambit of taste delights with some of New Zealand’s more intriguing wines in the less known varieties of Viognier, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewurtztraminer, Pinot Noir Syrah and a host of others.

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika


Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
