Lennox Cafe Bistro does lunch!
Lennox Cafe Bistro in Dublin’s Portobello has long enjoyed an enviable reputation as the ideal spot for indulgent breakfasts, long lazy brunches or coffee, cake and a chat. But with the addition of a new express lunch menu even busy business people can grab an hour and enjoy the excellent food that is at the heart of the popularity of this Lennox Street eatery.
Between 12 and 2p.m. each weekday, the Express Lunch menu will offer a selection of up to 10 quick and tasty dishes, updated daily, with the promise that you can be on your way back to your desk within 45 minutes. Typically priced from €8.50 to €14.95 dishes could include a daily special sandwich served with soup or house fries, a warm chicken mixed leaf salad with roasted peppers and balsamic dressing, Lennox Fish and chips with house tartar sauce or the much loved Cajun Chicken Quesadilla. All prepared, presented and served with the signature Lennox Cafe care for good food and ingredients.
But, it’s not all business. If the mood takes you, there’s a short but perfectly formed selection of prosecco, red and white wines by the glass. Lennox Cafe’s sumptuous homemade desserts and coffees can make even a short and snappy lunch feel like a much needed break.
For those with more time on their hands, the decor and character of Lennox Cafe makes it ideal to sit back and relax. From the coveted front terrace tables, which can be enjoyed winter or summer with the help of cosy blankets, through to the busy bistro style ground floor and on up to the first floor dining room, there’s a space to suit everyone. Owner Sally Ann Luykx’s flair is everywhere. The ground floor is lent a spacious feel with dark toned furniture and tactile cushions set against a palette of pale blues, blonde woods and sparkling mirrors. Upstairs, large sash windows pour light into a jewel box of a room beautifully decorated with a welcoming fire, stripped floorboards and an enviable view out onto the leafy streets below.
Lennox Cafe Bistro is open from 9.30am on weekdays for breakfast until midday when a lunch menu is added, which runs until 5.30pm. The Express Menu is available from Midday to 2p.m. On weekends a Brunch menu is available.
