This was a family night here with approx 20 of us. Atmosphere was great with a guy singing a few songs during dinner and he was very good. and good laugh too. Food was ok without being fantastic. I wouldn't be in a rush back anyway. Service was actually quite good. Very attentative and looked after us well. Was a good night out and so on but would not go back

Went into this restaurant today with my 3 children. The decor is lovely and cosy, all done up for Christmas and the lighting is gorgeous. The staff are excellent, very friendly and attentive. We had the early bird menu, 10 euro for choice of starter and main course, the kids meals were FREE! I had bruschetta and lasagna, both lovely, the end of my lasagna was a bit burned but i still ate it. Hubby had garlic bread with cheese and penne arabiatta, he said it was nice but way too much chilli in it. Kids food was lovely too and they got a free scoup of ice cream with sauce. I had a glass of wine, hubby had a pint and one of our kids had a 7 up. Bill was 35 Euro in total, bargain. I will definately be back.

Myself and my boyfriend ate here on Saturday night. Had the set menu which was €55 for 2 starters 2 main courses and 4 bottles of beer, however my boyfriend had the steak so there was a €7 supplement, bit steep in my opinion. Good points are that the decor is lovely and the restaurant has a really nice atmosphere, also we were given 2 free bottles of beer at the end of the night as we had stayed for a few drinks after our meal which was a nice touch. Bad pionts would be that the food is not of a very high standard, my boyfriend asked for his steak medium but it was very well done and came out very quickly leading us to think it was precooked. However he did still enjoy the steak! My starter of breaded chicken seemed to just be frozen and deep fried nothing Italian about it, stuffed mushrooms were very greasy also deep fried. My main course of chicken penne arrabiata though was nice. Overall a nice restaurant and as we got the set menu it was quite good value for money, would not go for the A La Carte menu as it is overpriced in my opinion as the main courses all only come with a garnish so everything is extra.

This is a local favourite of mine, I visit the Olive Garden often enough. I have been there with just my partner and also as part of a few large groups and they cater for groups very well. There are always very good value offers on here. Food is typical Italian, generous portions and great value. Restaurant decorated beautifully and staff always so friendly

A large group of us visited here recently. The ambiance is fabulous in this place - always covered in candles and lights on the ceiling. Fantastic value early bird offers and more offers that last through the night. Food is very good and staff make you feel like their friend!!What more can you ask for?!

Having read the other reviews I am a bit gobsmacked....Either I got them on an off day or my concept of good service differs. Myself, my wife and 2 year old arrived at 6pm and asked for a table and were asked 15 minutes, half and hour maybe (the restuarant was half empty then)... I said now please....we were seated and waited patiently, 5 minutes passed, tick tock, still they had not given us a menu, asked if we wanted drinks, cleared the extra cutlery from the table...acknowledged we were here... When I stopped a waiter and stated that we had not been given a menu, we were asked for our orders (Doh!), as there was a torn/dirty 'specials/early bird menu on the table (not what everyone else were given at their table) I preceeded to order early bird menus as at this stage I just wanted to leave but I needed to get the 2 year old fed, hence we stayed... Order food, drinks came 10 minutes later and then eventually the food (not too long of a wait I will say, but the Lasagne was microwaved) and the Carbonara was not authentic (for all the restuarant raves about being Italian, they can't even get a Carbonara right) as I got fatty Rasher/Bacon and not Panchetta and I would swear that cream was used in the sauce....So having to ask for the side order of Garlic Bread (cold) that did not come with the meal we just wanted out so ate and asked for the bill, to my surprise we were not charged the early bird but the Al a Carte Prices (the menu I was not given), which I duly highlighted to the waiter....at this stage I would have presumed the Manager/Maitre d would have come down to us, but all I got was a dirty look from him when he walked half way down to our table...of course the floor staff tried their best to appologise, but it should come from the top....Bill was amended, (luckly as I would have probably requested the Gardai be called to resolve the attempted robbery), and we went...with a promise NEVER to eat there again and to let everyone know!

This place just keeps getting better and better. Wether its a meal with the kids or a romantic evening, it provides it all, excellent friendly service, superb food (The steaks are to die for!) and overall the ambiance of the place is fantastic. Sicilian duo with singing and keyboard completed the evening. We dine here regularly with various groups of people and its always a great evening.

When we arrived the restaurant was very busy with a great atmosphere. The food was very reasonably priced and the quality was excellent. For a Saturday night we were given plenty of time to enjoy each course. The service was top class and the staff were all very friendly. Excellent restaurant and I will be returning many more times.

First time in the Olive Garden..dont let its appearances decieve you.. wonderful restaurant.. cosy atmosphere.. no lighting but simply fairly lights and candles really makes the place feel welcoming! All guests pretty much had the steaks which came out perfectly cooked and huge. Service was extremely welcoming and couldnt have done more for us. Thanks for a great night. See you again.

Having previously posted a poor review I felt it only fair, having revisited the Olive Garden recently, and been very pleasantly surprised to come back here and give credit where credit is due. The athmosphere with all the sparkling lights is magic. The menus have been changed and the food we ate was streets ahead of what had gone before (a new chef possibly?). While the service is still a little haphazard its nice to see local youngsters being employed and given a chance. I'll happily look forward to visiting again.

I went here with a group of kids 22 kids to be precise. While the kids waited for their pizzas, chips and bolognaise, the parents decided to order for ourselves. The food was very tasty. Ministrone soup delicious and pizza fabulous. Service was very very slow I had to wait about 20 mins for my latte I thought I had been forgotten about. We were finished our food by the time the kids began to get served. They were starving, all in all they had to wait about 1 hour which was too long. I think they could have made a couple of pizzas and chips etc to put on the tables and let the kids share while they were making the rest. The hunger was going off the kids by the time the food arrived and we were fed up waiting not only for our own food but then waiting on the kids to finish theirs. Its my only complaint really, the staff were very friendly and the food lovely.

I went to the olive garden last night with my sister and I thought that everything about it was so good. The food was to die for and all of the staff were all so helpful and friendly and there was no rush with anything.I had tiramisu for my dessert and it was so nice. All of the food portions are really good in size and taste!.The value of the whole meal was so good and there are so many good offers going on at the miniute.I would recommend anybody to go here as it is one of the best italian and in fact one one of the best restaurants I have ever been to.I would recommend families and couples to go here as it is for both. The athmosphere in the restaurant is so nice and calm with music playing, the whole effect of the candles make it so relaxing and I really felt comfortable the whole time that I was there.I will defently be going back here as everything was 100%.

Went for Sunday lunch, having previously been there for night time dinner and had a fantastic time. Brought a gang of kids, all of which were treated like royalty and ate every scrap. Our starters were to die for ( bruchetta Olive Garden) and our main courses were outstanding. When the bill arrived we felt we were robbing them it was so reasonable for what we had. All in all a fantastic visit. Great for couples and even better for the whole family

I am in shock that the last reviewer didn't get what she wanted in her salad in the Olive Garden. I have eaten there every week since Christmas. I have NEVER had a bad meal. I have NEVER had bad service. The food is not what you would call fine dining but hey, it bloody good and lots of it. For €12 mid-week for a main course and a glass of wine - keep up the good work guys. You are a credit to the restaurant business. I would highly recommend it.

Went into this place for a lunch and ordered a Greek Salad. I had heard rave reviews about this place and that they had great offers and great value for money menus. The Greek Salad that i was served was a disgrace. Firstly there was NO dressing on the salad, when i asked for Balsamic vinger, I was told they didn't have any but offered by Olive Oil instead!! In terms of the salad, it was a large plate of wet lettuce with, 1 tomato cut into quarters. 4 olives and some feta cheese squares. This is not my idea of a Greek Salad and i really think if they cannot serve it to expected standards then they should remove it from their menu. When i complained about the price of the dinner sized salad @ €14.95, I was offered it at the lunch menu price €7.95. It really wasn't even worth that. I am not sure how the set menus are here, however after this experiece i would not recommend the Olive Garden and am not planning on returning.

I was absolutely shocked to see such raving reviews below! I should first mention that the setting is really lovely, above the nicest pub in ratoath, and has the same decor as years previous when it was the grandstand and the food was actually good. The menu is boring as is the food. The staff are largely incompetent. The entire setup seems altogether mickey-mouse.

I Regularly Eat In The Olive Garden And Find The Restaurant Lovely. Its A Great Atmosphere On All Nights Of The Week Not Only Weekends And Staff Are Very Nice. Its A Lovely Place To Dine On Any Occasion!! Sometimes I Bring My Two Children Along And A Lovely Friendly Welcoming Atmosphere Is Given Off To The Children And Myself, Also I Go Sometimes With My Husband Alone And A Lovely Romantic Feel Is Given To Us By All The Staff! The Staff Are Always Smiling And Very Chatty Which Adds To The Standards In Which This Restaurant Holds. The Food Is Lovely And Always Cooked Perfect Even When I Ask For Specialities For The Kids. My husband and I eat in this restaurant quite regularly and have always been greeted with the greatest hospitality. I find both the service and the food excellent. We often bring our two children and I have to say the owner and the staff couldn't be nicer to them. At the weekends the atmosphere is as good as you'd get in any restaurant. All in all a very friendly, warm restaurant with a great buzz at the weekends. My favourite is the Penne Pollo Funghi which is excellent and my husband's would be the lamb cutlets which are always top notch! Definitely worth a try!

Saturday night dining. Visited last Saturday, place busy with quick turnover, obviously new wait staff, very nervous, one poor girl was shaking so badly the veg dishes were rattling off each other. It is very unfair on customers and staff to put inexperienced staff on a busy night with no other extra cover. My dish was awful, spicy chicken, well spicy anyway not too much chicken and what there was, was very dry. Side orders extra. Dessert arrived, well one did, the next one 10 minutes later and then in stages. I recommended this restaurant to my friends and felt awful afterwards, except for company, this meal was a wash out. Will not go back!!!

Great food and service. The guy that served us was very helpful and attentive. I had salad and pasta and it was lovely. The only shame was I was in the mood for pizza but they could not do the tomato base sauce without garlic(which I'm unfortunately allergic to) however the feta cheese salad was one of the best ever and the creamy pasta was lovely. The pizza I'm told was very nice if a little too much cheese, and the stuffed mushroom starter is lovely too.

One of my favourite restaurants. Personal service even to very fussy eaters who like to amend the menu and change things around. Wine list is good and reasonably priced. The tables are nicely spaced and the staff really do their best to cater for your requirements. Would recommend the meatballs and lamb chops highly.
