Like others I had heard mixed reports about this little place off the main streey in Dunshaughlin. We were out visiting friends in that area and they suggested we call in on our way home to try it out. Initial impression was of a clean welcoming place inhabited by families from the locality. It was a Saturday evening about 6pm when we arrived in and there was a busy buzz about the place. Mostly tables of four or five seated. We were one of only two couples seated at that time. We left it to the Chef to surprise us for choice as we liked most of the menu (this worried the waitress a little I think!) For our mains we were served Braised Shank Of Lamb & Bistecca Di Manzo. Both dishes were excellent and I would find it hard to fault the food in any way really. The Veg portion was a little on the small side. Service was pleasant (not outstanding but polite and efficient). We thought the drinks were a little over priced. Overall experience was very good and I wouldn’t say no to being brought there by others. (not too sure if I would go out of the way to visit unless I was in the area anyways.) for a local place in a small town in Meath it was great.

I wasn't planning to go back so soon but was invited by my brother for my birthday. Service was very good again and, as before, plenty of free car parking in a quiet area. This time, however, I was seated facing a large painting on a wall - a bit claustrophobic which a simple re-arranging of tables would have avoided. The only real problem I had was the ravioli which was noticeably undercooked and, by way of explanation, was assured it was cooked the 'traditional' way. Now, I love ravioli and can eat it until the cows come home - but I could only manage a couple of mouthfuls and had to leave the rest. Shame really.

I hadn't heard great things about this restaurant which was probably why I was pleasantly surprised. There was big group of us for a birthday dinner and also a huge party of kids & their parents who were very noisy. The waiter went out of his way to make sure we were seated where ever we felt most happy. He was wonderful throughout the meal. Same cannot be said for the other server who was more than a little grumpy. I have a block when it comes to Irish/Italian restaurants but this was one of the better ones. My starter of Calamari & king prawns was delicious (calamari was slightly overdone but not enough to give out about it) and my main of Ravioli di Carne was a little underdone. The pasta was a little more than al dente. But I tasted other people's meals and the flavour was definitely there. I could taste the nutmeg from the bechemel in the lasagne which is no mean feat. We got complimentary limoncellos at the end of the meal and 2 slices of tiramisu & banoffi with a candle in each for the birthday people. We were all most surprised. The olives and bread are plentiful and my americano was delicious. All in all, a very good & enjoyable meal.

I've been there with my family on Valentine's Day. Restaurant staff was courteous and cheerful, as allways. They advised us some specialties of the day and we so glad we agreed. All vegetables are tasty and fresh. And pizza is really worth to taste! Portions are generous, so make sure to leave room for the delicious Italian desserts! Feels like staff is really devoted to his restorant. In general, its worth to drive an hour from your place!

Last night was our 3rd visit - it gets better & better. Friendly welcome. Special menu and for €16 it was really good value. Calamari & chicken wings starters both delicious followed by tasty grilled steaks cooked to order. How do they do it at that price? Quietly tucked away at the end of cul de sac they have managed to created a warm atmosphere. Great for parties. great value, generous portions and nice red wines. Will definitely be back.

have to agree with last comment! lovely restaurant, helpful polite and friendly staff, lovely place but..........have been eating in venice since it opened, which is almost a year now and there has been no change to menu at all. most restaurants will alter menu with each season, this is maybe why the place is not as busy as it could be, more variety is needed from the early bird to the lunch and the a la carte, they all need a total revamp and new dishes added!

Another nice meal in Venice. But really disappointed they STILL haven't changed the early bird menu. once again another great meal in venice. seven of us went for sunday lunch and everyone had a great meal, not one complaint! Friendly staff, chef came out and had a chat with us, the only downfall was that the restaurnat wasnt very busy which took away from the atmosphere. great to see they are doing a takeaway menu too. at last dunshaughlin has a decent restaurant instead of just pub grub!!!

Was there with family. The restaurant was empty, but this didn't affect quality of food or service in any way! Quite contrary, we had an entire hall to us. The food was great - one of the best I ate here in Ireland, I guess. We ordered spaghetti bolognese and the portion was very generous - enough to feed you for the entire day. The dessert was also spectacular (we tried 3 - Tiramisu, Ice cream, and profiteroles). Will definitely come back soon.

We want back to Venice because is the place where we want to eat. A restaurant that’s friendly and unpretentious, casual but nice enough to make dinner feel a little special and it won’t take forever to find a parking space. Earlier this year a important family event was hosted by Venice and everything was perfect.

The first time I ate here, I wasn't too impressed. I tried it again after a friend said that it was brilliant and it there was a full house. The food was gorgeous and the staff were brilliant even though they were very busy at the same time!

Absolutely delicious and its difficult to please everyone in the family. On the recommendation of our teenage son who had been raving about a fabulous meal he had there with a few friends we decided to try it out. Youngest son an expert on Arribiatta proclaimed it was a little hotter than he normal has it but nonetheless the best he had ever tasted. Husband had Calazone and hardly spoke while eating it, savoring in the moment, As for the rest of us no complaints. The plates were wiped clean. The chef serves the table which is a nice touch he had a few friendly words with us and everyone couldnt have been nicer. We are dying to go again but don't want to over do it. We hear that the take-away is just as fabulous so its a great alternative to Chinese and Fish and Chips on a "sit in and watch Britans got Talent night".

My wife and I visited this restaurant last Sat night and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I dont know why the last reviewer had such a bad experience. The food was very tasty..I had pizza and my wife had pasta which cooked perfectly, al dente. I hate overcooked pasta! We were given this lovely crusty pizza bread before we ordered our food which was very nice. We ordered the house red, a lovely wine and at the end of our meal we were offered complimentary liquors..bonus! The atmosphere was warm and comfortable.. there were half a dozen other tables. The staff were great, really friendly and efficient. Ill definitely be returning to this little gem! Great value for money for real italian food!
