This has had a sign on the door since before Christmas saying something like"closed until further notice due family problem". At this stage I have a feeling that it may not re-open. Pity, I really loved their pizzas

We went to this yesterday last saturday for a birthday meal. Food was excellent and we were not waiting long either. We found the pricing to be very good considering its so close after christmas and it wasnt hard on the pocket for the quality of food and service you receive. i would definitely recommend the fillet steak , I had mine medium and usually it is near impossible in most restaurants to get it right , however this steak was perfectly cooked and a large size also. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone , especially for special occasions as there is a great atmosphere and the night is made even more special.

I have eaten here many times and recommended it to several friends who have enjoyed it also. My all time favourite starter has got to be the rice balls with spinach and cheese (Arancini) although it's a bit heavy before a main. Tagliatelle Pollo Funghi is gorgeous but the chicken seems to be frozen precooked chicken pieces. The biggest drawback is how quickly the food is served. We can leave our house 15mins away and eat 3 courses and be home in 70mins, we timed it. It leaves you feeling uncomfortably full and over fed. As soon as you put your fork down the waiter lifts everything and returns promptly with the next course. I find the seats extremely sore on the back of the leg so maybe its a good thing the food is served quickly. The desserts are the usual frozen desserts which are not prepared on site, another minus point I think.

Moved out of Ashbourne 2 years ago we re visited the town to see some friends, we decided to go Big Cicero's as we use too, on arrival we been met by member of staff which he did remember us straight a way and the place was busy enough, seen some changes in menu specially introducing Early bird menu very reasonable and also 4 course set menu for € 23.50 with € 3.50 supplement for steak we all did have this menu with different starters which were delicious and also we all had steak all in fact cooked to perfection and very tasty, after all that we still managed to have desserts(tiramisu) which realy compliment every thing else, the service was just superb .we use to visit Big Cicero's on regular basis before we move out of Ashbourne and we think to start that again, it is great see the food, service, atmosphere, and value always getting better and better in our favorite restaurant . 100 % hat off for Big Cicero's well done.

Visted Big Cicero's on Thursday 03/12/09 the food was fantastic, my husband had pizza Du Chef, which he said was the best he ate so far and my son had seafood pasta which was delicious, I ordered for myself fillet steak cooked medium to rare which was cooked to perfection and served with very tasty brandy and mushroom sauce, the waitress served us was very friendly, pleasant and very helpful in advising the menu. Will defiantly return here again and highly recommend this restaurant for great night out, great service, food and value

We had guests over from England and all went for a meal as this place is local and we've enjoyed food there previously. We ordered steaks and pizza, which were ok but my wife had a baked potato which, when the foil was removed had not been washed and had a big lump of dirt still attached to the skin. We informed the staff and were met with bemused indifference. We saw them take the offending item to the kitchen area, where they all had a look, but no-one offered an apology or explaination. On this experience, I will not be dining there again

If you have kids and want to grab something out that's not Macdonalds this is a good place to go. For couples or people who like to eat well in a comfortable atmosphere, this is not the spot. Cheap and cheerful, the food is decent, I used to go here a lot, the service got worse and worse and I stopped going.

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner on a Sunday. It wasn't that busy but we were waiting a while to be served. However, when we were everything was great after. The food was delicious. We shared a garlic bread with cheese and then both ordered pasta dishes. I thought it was a great idea that you could add either chicken or prawns to your dish! The only thing about the restaurant was that it was very dull - grey walls with no art at all to lighten the place up.

Visited this restaurant recently for my other halfs birthday. Having visited the other Italian in Ashbourne and being very disappointed, we decided to give Big Ciceros a go. We were not disappointed at all. Service was very prompt and attentive and all the food we ordered was fantastic. The menu was extensive and would have something for everyone. We will definitely be going back and recommend it to others!!

This restaurant is just one of those nice, reliable places where you can go and order good food at a good price and know you won't be disappointed. It's always busy and the staff are nice and friendly. Always a favourite.
