We called in here for lunch last week en route to Dublin and what a treat. The place was very busy but we were seated immediately and shortly after that, our order was taken. The menu had a great variety and the staff were very friendly and efficient. My partner had the lunch special of 3 courses for €10.50, the homemade burger and pepper sauce followed by fresh strawberries and cream, finishing off with coffee. I had the chicken burrito with wedges. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and thought it good value. We will definitely visit again.

Hi went out for a meal to the black bull inn in drogheda with my partner sunday night and was far from happy with the results, we arrived at 9 o clock got seated and drinks quick enough and put in our order appox 9:15 by 10 o clock we still hadnt received our starters we were gettin slighty inpatient, at ten past 10 a waitress came over to explain to us that she had totally forgot to put our order through yet and she was going to do in straight away.I personally think that it was very unfair as there was hardly any body there so they were not over busy, we left and had to settle for a bag of chips as it was too late to go in anywhere else, i personally wont be going back any time soon

Exceeded all expectations, staff were great - helpful and friendly. Food was really tasty and there is certainly no skimping on portions. It looks nothing like I would've expected from the outside. Beautiful decor and comfortable seating! The Black Bull Inn may even be my new favorite place to eat!!! :-)

This is just a super duper pub! We have been there a few times with friends who live in the area and always thought it had a great atmostphere. We decided to grab a bite to eat last weekend. We both had the mexican burger and it was great. I cannot fault it only to say that we had the smaller size (8ox I think) and the chips/wedges that came with it were too much. Service was just spot on. Again, I cannot fault the pleasantness or efficiency of all I encountered here. I dont be in the area very often, so its hard to say when I will be back, but I just wish it was closer to my house. 10 out of 10 on all counts.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here recently, we dined in the restaurant and it was very civilised, the bar and lounge areas were hopping but we'd a much more serene atmosphere in our section! The service was second to none and the food was well cooked and very tasty, all three of us were very happy with our meals. We dined off the a la carte but our meal was still reasonably priced! Will definitley be back for more!!

Visited the BlackBull for a birthday party lunch with 18 people in total over the weekend and we had a fabulous time, the food was top quality and the service was excellent trying to serve 18 people at a time is a challenge but the staff served everyone together and extras if needed.... we all ordered off the set lunch menu which had an excellent variety from fish, chicken, turkey ham etc., suitable for everyone taste.... for 18 people for food only as we keep a separate bills for drinks but the food bill came to 266.00 which I think was excellent for the quality of food that was served to us, great value for money and definitely worth a visit, this is a very busy place so you might have to wait but well worth it, booking is advisable

This was my second visit to the Blackbull, myself and Mam went on our way home from visiting a friend in Duleek. As it was just 5pm we decided to go with the early bird menu which was €21.95 per person and seemed good value. This is available Monday to Saturday 17.00 – 20.00. I had the homemade soup of the day which was tomato – this was tasty. I then had the chicken curry with rice and chips which was a little too mild for my liking. To finish I had the selection of ice creams. I did not think there was a great selection of food on the early bird menu but enjoyed what I ordered. I did think the a la carte menu was a little pricey for a pub grub style restaurant. The service was good and efficient. The décor is now a little date and in my opinion in need of a refurb. I did not enjoy my visit as I did last year.

Ate in the Black Bull last Saturday evening and was impressed. The staff were all extremely pleasant and efficient, even though the restaurant was fairly packed! We had garlic mushrooms and chicken wings to start and they were lovely. For mains I had the lamb and boyfriend had roast chicken and ham and they were both very tasty. Served with choice of sides, we both had the veg and potato gratin. Had the Malteser Cheesecake to finish and it was nice, if a little slow to appear. Overall, I enjoyed my experience in the BlackBull and will definitely return, mainly due to the friendly staff and value for money (2 starters, 2 mains, 1 dessert, half bottle of wine and 2 soft drinks for €60!).

Had lunch here and it's lucky we arrived lateish - closer to 2pm, as it was still very full with people still arriving. There are great offers on for lunch at the moment. I had the soup of day, a sandwich of my choice and a cup of coffee for €6.50! I think the 3 course hot lunch is only €10.50. My eating companion (age 4!) had chicken gougons and chips (€6.25) and reluctantly allowed me a bite of a gougon! Top class. She ate the lot! Very pleasant indeed!

On way home from a difficult meeting in belfast, I called into The black Bull as I was always happy with the service, food and the prices were always reasonable. We (3) gave our food orders - the service was pretty poor - I was actually disappointed with the portions of food for the main course - the were the size of the starter menu. There was an impression given that there was enough food on the plates because of the amount of salad (garnish) presented with the our starter & main course!!! This is not good considering the price of the food!!!!!! I will say my desert was good! Could you do something about the noise levels please.

The friendly and helpful staff in the Black Bull are definitely one of its greatest assets. I've eaten here many many times over the years, but only went back recently after not eating there in a quite a while. I was quite disappointed in what I got. I ordered the half portion of calamari, which I thought was pricey at €16. (And the portions have definitely gotten smaller.) Overall it was fairly bland. The presentation was poor, the calamari were plonked in the middle of a big plate with a slice of lemon. Potatoes and veg all arrived seperately. This is the first bad meal I've had here, so I will go back, and review again! However I think they need to lower their prices.

My First Time Here was last Sat. the 04th of July. I went on the Recommendation of a Neighbour. I was very Slow to go as the Outside is not as Glam as I thought it should be but my god the Food does make up for it On Saturday I had the Steak Sandwich and My Partner had the Lasagne We were both really pleased and as new parents trying to find a place that is Child Friendly during the day and that is easy to get to and park and serves REALLY GOOD FOOD that is reasonably priced its hard but the Black Bull Certainly has all the Attributes that I require. It is super and I will deffo be back

I love the Black Bull, always a good hearty dinner during the week. My favorite is the chicken and mushroom vol au vent or chicken curry. I think though that prices are a bit on the high side and that portions have gotten smaller

went there last saturday celebrating my husband's birthday. We were there before many times and never disappointing. However that night I think I made a bad choice and had Seafood with Thai curry Sauce and noodles. It was not great at all. Seafood was very very chewy and sandy/earthy like it has not been cleaned properly. Although it said seafood in menu there were only two prawns and mostly calamari. Presentation, not great, plate too big, too much sauce, it looked like a soup, and the size of the seafood, too small and too little too. HOWEVER the service was amazing. I felt I had to let them know, about the dish and the response and service was very very nice and professional. Dish was taken away instantly and offered anything else off the menu, and no extra cost, and no cost for the disappointing dish either. It made it up for the disappointment of the night. Even though this happened I will definately come back again and again, that's how to get customers to come back. Not because having taken dish off menu as well as the other choice, but because the prompt response and service, no judgement, althought maybe they tried the dish in kitchen, it really was horrible, a real pity because it looked like an amazing thing when reading it from the menu. Anyway, fair played to them, amazing service and staff!!! So busy on that saturday night and waiters were lovely and attentive and fresh above all, running all over the place and still managing to keep a smile and a nice service. The whole place is amazing, a choice for everything in the one place, drinks food entertainment. Awesome.

went here for the umpteenth time today. Excellent as usual.Have been here lots of times and have never had a bad experience. Even on Xmas eve, when very busy the staff remained very helpful and the food of an excelllent standard. Dinner menu is nicer than the lunch menu, althought they have a good soup and sambo combo, very cheap and very filling. Salads are great, in fact nobody I have ever gone with had a bad experience. Highly recommended. More than just pub grub.

I used to live nearby to this place and ate here nearly every week. Now its a treat to go in. Always busy (which is a good thing) Menu is full of choice and food is excellent. My only gripe is on Sundays they only do a Sunday Lunch menu for a certain period of time. I always forget this and as I'm not a fan of Sunday lunch it doesn't suit be, But overall food is great. Sometimes they are too busy to seat you so give you a buzzer while you sit in the bar with a drink and call you, wait is never too long. There is a separate restaurant section that can be used for a bday party (its a bit more upmarket than where you normally eat, its nice for big groups over 8). one of the best pubs for food in drogheda. Outdoor smoking area and beer garden a bonus for smokers/summer days

Had a meal here the other evening for my dad's birthday. There was five of us all together and I have to say the food was amazing. Of the four starters we got the Duck Salad went down an absolute treat. We only needed butter knives for the steaks they were so tender. Deserts were fab and all in all the price was right. The only thing we had a problem with was the drinks, the two cokes and the diet coke we ordered came to the table absolutely flat. We returned them and small bottles came to the table instead which were much better. When we ordered another round we asked for small bottles, but again three glasses of flat coke arrived to the table. Once the waitress snatched them back and slammed the small bottles onto the table all returned to normal and we could enjoy our meal. Another point to make was that the night we visited there was no water in the toilets.... that was a bit worrying but they were working on it and the quality of the food more than made up for it.

I have eaten here a few times, and more recently on Saturday evening. It is great for food and a great choice on the menu. Service is excellent and staff are extremely pleasant and efficient. Don't go when there is a football match on it is always too packed and too noisy plus a lot of kids running around.
