I have eaten numerous times in the Lisdoo and have never been disappointed. I usually have fish and can highly recommend the scampi or cod in batter. The service is excellent and great value for money. I usually eat in the bar as I prefer it to the restaurant

Quick bite whilst up home - we eat regularly at the Lisdoo and have found that the real problem is that it's pretty much the same menu which gets boring after a while. There is one thing you can say about the Lisdoo is that customer service is first class - the waitresses and serving staff are always quick to offer advice on the food as well as friendly chat. Most recently had the fillet stake which was a beautiful cut of locally sourced beef cooked medium rare with home cut fries and home made peppercorn sauce, my mother had their seafood platter which she felt was very filling. The one thing about eating in the bar is that the decor is very dark which can either set or kill a mood. Would recommend the Lisdoo if you are passing through Dundalk Heading North and want something quick and filling to eat.

I dined here with my partner last Saturday night because I saw an ad in the local paper that the Lisdoo Steakhouse were now doing a special 4 course menu for €25 Monday to Saturday. There was a great variety on the menu. I had the warm goats cheese salad to start and my partner had the tandoori mushrooms (I tasted one and it was divine). I then had the chicken breast in brandy and mushroom sauce with tagliatelle, and my partner had the duck breast, which he claimed was the best he ever had. Desserts were sticky toffee pudding and Baileys cheesecake followed by coffees. Food was tasty and very well presented. Service was excellent and not rushed. The restaurant was fairly busy and there was a lovely atmosphere. A very enjoyable evening. I look forward to going back to try something else from this menu.

I have eaten in the restaurant many times and have never a bad word to say about it. The food is always to a high standard (especially the starter for two with duck spring rolls, garlic mushrooms and chicken wings!). I would highly recommend their salmon main course or any of the steak dishes although my firm favourite is the chateu brien which is always well presented and always plenty on it! I would travel here for their gratin potatoes alone. Overall, the best food around.

Was part of a group of 12 (8 adults & 4 children). The food was very good, way beyond expectations & the set-menu at €25 was very good value. Upon arrival the restaurant was quite empty but a few more tables were filled as the evening wore on, though it was never busy. We went early 6:30 as wanted to get home early with the children. Initially the service was good & prompt. But once the main course was served they completely lost interest & ignored us (restaurant was not that busy). We had to ask twice to get our dessert order taking & when quered "what flavours are in the selection of ice cream?" got a classic response "You know a selction of different flavours". We then had to ask for the bill. A lovely resturant with good food & initally good service, but it really went to pot. 9:30 by the time we got out.

Steak was cooked as required tho not d best quality but value matched cost reasonably. Sauces were rich n flavoursome and noce n hot. Toilets not gr8 but place welcomed children despite pub customers also

I love this restaurant. You can rely on it for good food every time. The steak is amazing and they have the nicest gratin potatoes I have ever tasted. Also lovely peppar sauce. Service is generally ok.

visited here on the way home from Newry and throughly enjoyed my evening there. the place was packed and the food is a bit expensive compared to other places but the portion sizes more than make up for it. the service was a little slow though there did seem to be a huge amount of groups in there which probably accounts for the wait but the food was worth it absoultely mouth watering food.

In March we arranged for a 60th family birthday party in the Steakhouse. The food was excellent, the service was very good for such a bit group. The bar more reasonably priced food, again great service but the menu has recently changed, sorry to say, not for the better.
