Had a great meal at this restaurant with my wife. There is a good menu choice with the option of a 5 course menu for a set price or you can order from the more extensive full Menu. We ordered from the full Menu. The food and food presentation was fantastic, especially the Venison, which was cooked perfectly and tasted spectacular. They also provide plenty of side veg. For desert I recommend the Baked Alaska, which is a bit different than I've had before but is really good. Overall the atmosphere was good, with lots of couples and groups filling the tables. Our waitress was very attentive and checked with us regularly. I will visit here again whenever in Wexford.

Had a very nice meal here with my wife and will be back. It was a Saturday night so the restaurant was pretty full and the ambiance was nice and relaxed. We chose from the A La Carte menu and decided to try the wine recommended with each course, this was a novel treat and the wines went well with the food. The amuse bouche was extremely tasty and a nice surprise. Starters of duck and prawn were lovely. For main course my wife had the sole on the bone with toasted almonds and was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. My John Dory was very nice also but would prefer the sole. We shared a chocolate fondant which tasted amazing. Finished off with a large cheese board. Bill came to €134 excluding tip which wasn't cheap but was worth the treat.

How to spend a lovely evening! 6 of us eat here on Saturday night and we really enjoyed the night. The atmosphere is very relaxed, staff are very friendly, efficient and not intrusive. Prior to us receiving our starters we received a complimentary dish which was yummy, this consist of a little pot of shredded chicken with tomato served with a variety of breads. A nice touch. For starters I had Pan fried red mullet which was very tasty. The others choose Confit of Rabbit, Home Rolled Black Pudding stuffed with Toulouse Sausage and Pan fried Dublin Bay Prawns, served in a Filo basket. Everyone was very happy with their starters and I particularly like the way they provide a recommend wine accompaniment of each starter and main course and a recommended coffee or each dessert. A nice amount of time is given between courses so when my 8oz fillet of Beef arrived I was ready for it. However I didn’t see the point of the toast and I thought the fillet to be a bit on the small piece given the cost. The others loved theirs which all consisted of Venison Steaks. I did plan only looking at the dessert menu but having seen the table next to us the girls had to order desserts while the 3 guys had French Coffees instead. I had the baked Alaska which was absolutely heaven! And unable to avoid temptation I tasted my friends chocolate fondant which also belonged to the heavenly of desserts family. We were almost 3 hours there and it was a lovely way to catch up with friend and spend a very relaxing Saturday night. Downstairs from this restaurant is a great pub which we headed to afterwards. I look forward to my next visit to Wexford and to this great restaurant.

I ate here on a Saturday night with my boyfriend after hearing great reviews. The atmosphere was very good and the restaurant filled up quickly even though we sat at 6. The décor is a cross between Irish café and French bistro. It would probably look more French if they got rid of the wood panelling. Service was excellent. We had the 5 courses plus 1 glass of wine for €25 which is an amazingly good value menu and is the main reason why we left happy with the meal and looking forward to coming back for an á la carte. However if we had been paying á la carte prices we probably would have been unhappy with the standard of the food. Both our starters weren't great. The mussels were ok, but didn't taste of much. The goats cheese and bacon salad seemed to be dressed entirely in olive oil. The leaves were saturated in it. The bacon underneath the cheese completely overpowered the flavour of the goats cheese and if I hadn't been so hungry I probably wouldn't have eaten it. Both our mains were good. The rib-eye was strange though. It was perfectly round and very thin. It tasted nice but was the strangest looking steak I've ever seen. It looked almost processed. For dessert, the poire belle helen was very good and came with its own jug of chocolate sauce. A nice touch for chocolate sauce fiends like myself. The tarte tatin was ok but a bit of a let down. The apple had obviously been cooked separately from the pastry and then stacked for service, to save time I imagine. Unfortunately it lost flavour in the process. The apples weren't sticky enough or caramelised enough and the pastry was a little dense. All in all, for the price of it we couldn't really complain and it was good enough for me to want to come back to try the á la carte. However if I received the same standard of food and paid significantly more I would be fairly unhappy about it.

Thank you for your review. The wood paneling you refer to cannot be changed as we are leasing the premises and we are not allowed to make that change. As for the restaurant looking like an Irish café, I can assure you that no café looks like our restaurant. The menu which you had was Bistro food and that is why we can give such an amazing offer to customers who chose to eat from that menu. I agree that if you paid a la carte prices for the same food you would not be happy. That’s why we have 2 menus for customers to chose from. The goats cheese salad is dressed in walnut oil, and if there seemed to be too much oil for your personal taste, we would like to take this opportunity to apolagise. The mussels are local mussels from Wexford and they are very mild in flavour. The Rib eye steak is cut directly from our cube rolls, which are rolled in cling film tightly to make cutting easier which gives it the round shape. To say that the steak looked processed,,,, You say the apples were obviously cooked separately from the pastry for tarte tatin, this is not true, and it would be extra work during service to put a tatin together rather than having the whole thing prepared.. Once again we thank you for review and we look forward to seeing you in the future.

even though we visited on a tuesday night, le tire bouchon was busy with a great atmosphere. we opted for the5 course menu. i had the goats cheese salad which was beautiful, very well balanced. the strawberry and basil sorbet was gorgeous and very refreshing. for the main course i had the sea bass which was melt in the mouth, the mash that accomopanied it was quite sparse however. the tarte tatin was beautiful, however i would question the need for the rice risotto which accompanied it as in my opinion it took away from the dish. overall a pleasant experience.

We have been going to this restaurant once a month for about 5 months, we found the value for money amazing - even the 60€ menu for Valentine's day was amazing value! W could barely finish our dishes. You cannot fault the service nor the food. The atmosphere is nice and you are never rushed. The staff is friendly and attentive without beeing on top of you. We always book our next dinner when we leave, it is that good!

As a lone diner I visited this restaurant on a Monday night, I was pleasantly surprised to find a large number of people there of a Monday night. I went for the special menu , which was very good value for money. The sorbet was wow (Strawberry & Basil). The service was excellent, polite, courteous staff. Most enjoyable experience will be back again.

Can't fault it. Atmosphere great, lovely buzz but not too much noise. Dinner was amazing had a bit of everyones, I hate duck but it was fantastic would definitely order it there. Pasta beautiful ....fresh flavours and light. Steak fab! Chef...gorgeous! 11 of us dined out with a few fuss pots thrown in and everyone had a great meal with not 1 complaint. I would highly recommend this for groups or romantic couples.... what a great addition to Wexford town.
