The Pig's Ear 4.0 star review: A group of us had dinner in the Pig's Ear to celebrate a birthday. From beginning to end we were not disappointed with both the food and service.

We were seated at a table on the top floor, the restaurant was full and had a great buzz. The tables were far enough apart that we could hear each other without shouting. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The choice of starters was so good it took me a long time to decide on the beetroot and goats cheese. It was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The other starters looked equally as well and were very much enjoyed. For main I had the Ox tongue and beef cheek which was melt in the mouth tender. It was a very filling but delicious. Dessert is where I think the presentation fell down. Both starter and main were presented well, in a modern style but desserts were presented in jars (jam jars, kelkin jars and so on) with sugar in a bag and milk in a milk jug - this just didn't fit with the earlier presentation. However, despite the presentation the desserts were tasty.

I would highly recommend this restaurant and I look forward to visiting it again soon.

The Pig's Ear 3.5 star review: Went for lunch, atmosphere was nice, relaxed, was expecting the food to be really good. The soup starter was interesting but a bit bland, though nicely presented. The Main, Pork belly was fine but nothin special in my opinion. Desert was fine. Coffee ok.

The Pig's Ear 4.0 star review: My sister and I had lunch here on a busy Saturday. What a lovely place, love their attention to details. We both had the pork belly and black pudding - amazing is the only word to describe it. I had a coffee for dessert but my sister wanted dessert and had a fantastic chocolate tart that I helped her finish. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The Pig's Ear 5.0 star review: We were two first-timers for the early evening menu. Very nice atmosphere; the small room was busy but relaxed and had a buzz without feeling crowded or noisy. The ham hock terrine for starter was the highlight (we had heard about this before) but the others were not low points. Our other salmon starter, and mains of pork belly and hake, were all well-cooked and presented, with some tasty little details on the side. Service was nice and relaxed and wine the wine was good. We didn't feel at all rushed. Before the mains had even arrived we'd agreed we would be coming back; a decision based on terrine alone!

The Pig's Ear 4.5 star review: Excellent food, and very generous portions. I was actually half expecting the portions to be smaller, since the restaurant comes through as a bit higher end, what comes to initial feeling and environment. Food was excellent, and as said, there was plenty to eat. Good service as well. Will go back, and bring some visiting friends as well..

The Pig's Ear 5.0 star review: The food in this restaurant is unbelievable. I went with 6 people and every single one of loved our entire meal, from starters to dessert. We all were enticed to order dessert once we saw other tables getting them! The cheesecake in a jar is positively amazing. I like how this restaurant is fine dining, but also does very creative things with food. My only piece of negative feedback is the seating could be more comfortable! Other than that, a great culinary experience.

The Pig's Ear 2.5 star review: Popped in here on Saturday afternoon with friends who I was showing around Dublin. Hadn't been before but wish I had researched it a bit more beforehand, as it was a bit hard to carry a sleeping baby in a push chair up the two flights of stairs. Although there was a nice, good value lunch menu on, we decided to go á la carte. They got the lamb Shepards pie and the beet risotto. The Shepards pie, although the presentation was nice, was of a small portion, and the beet risotto was bland with my friend unable to finish it. I got the haddock starter which would have been better if it were served with crisp breads.
Service was friendly and fast, but the restaurant lacked atmosphere.
Might try the place again, but not for a while.

The Pig's Ear 5.0 star review: I have heard a lot of good things about this place, finally went for dinner on a Saturday. The place was very nice. Had the goat cheese as starter which was very nice and well presented. Had the halibut (with some chicken pieces in it) for main, nicely cooked but my partner said the chicken was nicer than the halibut itself. The salmon was not as good as expected, very red in the middle (personally I prefer it well done). The service was also good.
