Booked a table for two as we felt we deserved a fine stake as a nice treat on a Saturday night, We were not disappointed. As always it was truly succelent, cooked to perfection and not at all bad value for money. Accompanied by a lovely bottle of red the whole evening was memorable. Service was good for a very busy evening where the staff were run off thier feet, but always smiled and acknowledged us. The deserts were so hard to choose as all seemed nicer than the next and when they arrived they were pefection. A great evening in a perfect city cente location.

Went here for a meal with the family and was not blown away to be honest, service was good and fast but quality of food I think has slipped, portions were small too, a bit pricey also.

Went out for a birthday party with a few friends. Atmosphere was good. Food was good but not a great selection for vegetarian's. Staff and service were very good, waiter was very friendly. We ordered a pitcher of sex on the beach cocktail which was way overpriced for the size of the jug. Overall a good night, but I wouldn't be too keen on returning.

I am a steak lover and love this restaurant. The waiting area is really cosy. The staff are friendly and the food is good. The sides could be better though. Not the best chips or veg.

And so back to the Texas Steakout! I had the burritos again - top class. My companion had the vegetable enchiladas. She was very happy with them and with the restaurant generally. She hadn't been before. We were slightly undercharged so that made up for the overcharge of my previous visit!

I ate in texas staekout on Sat night there was 6 of us and we all loved this restaurant. The menu is very extensive and caters for all tastes. The 4 course menu for €24.95 was superb. I had the goats cheese for starter and chicken with mushrooms for main, and sticky toffee pudding for desert and I could not fault anything. I also had a cocktail from their great cocktail menu!! The service was very good even though the were extremely busy it did not affect the quality of sevice.I will definitely be going back for seconds!!

A friend of mine told me about this site and i have been going mad lately reviewing my dinner hot spots !! Texas steakout is a great little spot. I usually go for the 10oz Fillet, herself likes the spicy Mexican stuff but i am bit weak for that. Steaks are always top notch, i cant fault them. I'll be back again before the Christmas for a treat.

I really like this place.Went here on saturday night for a special occassion and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the loaded potatoe skins and they were piping hot and delicious! For main course I and my friend had the "two amigos platter" which consisted of a taco each, an enchilada each and fajitas-delicious and so filling! I must say also that our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. i would definitely go back.

Never, ever again! Went for lunch yesterday with a group of friends. Menu was not expensive...but choices were really limited! No vegetarian options or salads... Went for the ham and mushroom vol au vent. Ham was horrible and tasteless...and the sauce seemed out of a tin. Very salty...vol au vent was undercooked...not a great start. Chose a chicken dish with bacon and tomato sauce. The presentation was terrible...the chicken was covered with some fatty bacon, a tomato sauce which which tasted sugary and some melted cheese. At least the broccoli from the vegetables side order was al dente! Not a single waiter came and checked on our meal at any stage... The only person who enjoyed the meal had ordered BBQ ribs...so I guess I will give them that! Not a memorable experience...at all.

Had lunch here recently on a rainy tuesday. I've always thought of this restaurant to be too expensive but thier lunch menu was ok value, most things were 10euro. Not alot of choice though, but what I did have was qiute tasty. Bap filled with steak, mushrooms, onions and cheese. It said served with salad and fries but my salad consisted of a single lettuce leaf, which was dissapointing. Service was fine but the place was dead(which can often go against you)

I love, love, love this restaurant. Its sometimes a forgotten gem amoung all the other great restaurants in Limerick. Evertime I eat there the food is good, the staff are very welcoming and the atmosphere is so comforting and enjoyable. I find you just unwind automatically, relax and enjoy your meal out. I could happily sit there chatting over a bottle of wine for hours. I love the big open fire and the warm cosy feeling I get when stopping off there for my lunch/dinner on those wet windy wintery days shopping in Limerick. Definitely a must try for those of you visiting Limerick. Enjoy :-)

My husband and I visited this restaurant on a busy Friday night. We were seated promptly. Our order was taken and our drinks arrived. We had loaded potato skins (a bit dry and could have done with a bit of sauce) and deep fried brie (huge scrummy portion) to start. We followed that up with a steak, cooked perfectly, and the fajitas, fabulous. Had the death by chocolate and the apple pie for dessert. The pie was dissappointing, it had bits of core in it. Overall we loved the experience, the service was brilliant and the meal was fantastic value.

Came for lunch here and was very impressed, The food although it was only 7,95 the portions were huge.I like the cosy basement atmosphere and the staff were fantastic without being too intrusive. Truly a great restaurant well worth a visit if you are after some really great steak and chicken but come hungry.

The forgotten hero of Limerick.... a lovely restaurant... a visit to the Texas Stakeout is never disappointing. The staff as always were lovely, nice buzz around. Their loaded cheese and mushroom potatoe skins are to die for. At 24.95 for a three course meal its a bargain!!!

I came here for lunch on Saturday and was delighted we stumbled upon the place (we aren't local) I had the burger and by boyfriend went for the Mexican platter, we both cleared our plates, I also had a glass of the house rosé wine which was most pleasant, our entire bill was under €30.00 and the food was of such a high standard, as was the service, would love to return some day. Also love the fireplace at the entrance, adds a very cosy feel to the place.

Have eaten here twice .First time for dinner with my husband .Opted for the steaks , as in a steak restaurant .Bit disapointed .The steak was fine , but came with damn all else .Portions very small , and if we had not had starters , would have left hungry . Also as it was a sat night , was quiet busy , the service was a bit rushed , and we felt as if we could not linger over coffee . Second visit was for lunch with the girls .And this time the portions were much better .Service great , and lunch menu much better value for money .Food was a better standard too . This is a great lunch spot , would give the weekend nights a miss though .

I was in Limerick for a girlie weekend in November. We decided to go into The Texas Steakout for something to eat after driving up from Dublin. I have to say I don't think I have ever enjoyed a meal so much. There was a great selection to choose from and all the girls enjoyed what they ordered. The resturant is so homey and warm we would love to have stayed there all day sitting by the fire. We had a few more friends coming down the next day and we went back again the next day for lunch, this time we had the lunch special menu and yet again we where not disappointed and the value was great. We will definatly go again if we visit Limerick again.

I ate several times here during my stays in Limerick. It's actually quite a nice restaurant for Irish standards. The atmosphere is nice; western style without the idea that you're eating fast-food at Buffalo Grills’ (For those who don't know this is a French chain of western style restaurants) The meat is nice, especially the roast, but I dare swear the cook was force-fed his veggies when he was little and didn't like it. The vegetables served at the side are, without exception, cooked and mashed to death in such way that the stuff lost all its flavour so it is even more bland and smoother pureed than any babyfood I know off. Service varies from very attentive and correct to virtually non-existent. The worst thing in the place is the coffee, they have good equipment but a good barista would help. It's not some exotic kind of tea guys; you're bloody not supposed to see the bottom of the cup! The prices are ok, maybe a bit too high for the quality of the food but eating out in a nice atmosphere is something worth too. And the locals like to go there (for those questioning why I went back after these negative experiences)

I don't often visit the Texas Steakout, as while I find the food good, I feel it's overpriced. However we decided to treat ourselves on NYE and were delighted to find they now do a set menu. We got a 3-course meal for €30. The food was of its usual good standard too. It was very busy as usual and as expected on the night, and did start to feel like we were in a crowed room. Which is what we were in really, but usually you wouldn't notice too much in a restaurant. The service wasn't too hectic, but passable. At one point we were served baked beans as a side dish with a fajita. We had to explain that we had ordered refried beans. Rookie mistake on the waiter's part. Also, once the desserts had been served, we had to actively work at getting more drinks off them. It's nice not to have waiters always asking if you want a coffee etc, but ask once at least, please :)

For stone walled, cosy, candlelit ambience this place cant be beaten. Its a little haven on O' Connell Street....not to mention the food! Portions are generous and delicious. Staff are very attentive. Be sure to pre-book your table though as this place is often booked out due to the great name it has locally. Top marks from me!

This is a very popular place for work groups etc I but have been disappointed with it. Although the menu is extensive, there is definitely something for everyone, the quality is below par. This, to me, is fast food in a restaurant setting. A lot of dishes are served with one of three dips... guacamole, bbq and sour cream. All are bought in bottled stuff. And you can taste it! Such a pity, if this place used more fresh ingredients and made their own sauces... which I would expect for the price... it would be fantastic!

Ate in a big group of friends. Have eaten here many times and the standard and quality of the food has always been excellent. The service was still very good even though we were there in a group. The only slight downfall is that the customers are packed in and sometimes you feel as if you are sitting too near the people next to you. But if you want to be sure of getting a good meal, Texas Steakout is the place for you.

Have never had a bad meal here, something for everyone in your party on the menu, the staff are helpful and it's a nice cosy restaurent, although a bit noisy at times when groups are in. Platter for two as a starter is well worth it.

We turned up here on valentines night without a booking as we had a very unfortunate experience in another restaurant. They fitted us in no problem, The staff were very helpful & pleasant & the food has never disappointed me in the ten years i have been going there. Def recommend it if your looking for a good fillet steak. Serivce is extremely quick. The wine is also extremly good value with the house red coming in an €16.50 & very tasty.

We went to the Texas Steakhouse on Friday night and it was the best meal I have had in a very long time. Although the place was packed the staff were very helpful and attentive; the food was superb and the atmosphere romantic. I had the Nachos which I can highly recommend my husband was also happy with his ribs. We both had the Fillet steaks and they were second to none. My only complaint is that everything is an extra portion i.e. onions, mushroom, onion rings and the cost adds up. My husband does not eat the fore mentioned so I end up ordering a portion of each just for me when all I really want is one or two. I think it would be much better to serve the steak with a few mushrooms and Onion rings even if it means adding a Euro or two the cost. Also the Pepper sauce could do with having a little kick – bit mild for our liking.

I was excited about eating here as many of my friends frequantly visit this steak house. When we arrived it was quiet and because of this the staff were bored so we felt our experience was rushed. I like a slower service so I'm failing them because of thier efficiency. Food was yum, service didn't do it for me.

Ive eaten here twice over the last few months with large groups of over 12 each time and was never let down, we got a few of the platters for starters and they went down a treat as they have a bit of everything on them, for mains most of us had steak but a few people had chicken and fajitas, nobody was left disappointed, found the price to be excellent, particularly when you compare it to what you would pay in Dublin, if I'm back in Limerick ill defo come here.

We had a surprise party here on a Saturday night. There was 9 people in total. I had dropped in a cake and balloons earlier in the day and specifically asked that the balloons be tied to the back of each chair before we arrived. When we arrived the balloons were nowhere to be seen. I approached a manager and he said he would go get them, no apology or anything. The balloons came out and were literally left in the middle of the table to float to the ceiling. A total waste. The food was nice enough, I wouldn't be rushing back for it. Also it tended to come out in drips and drabs which isn't great. The cake came out after dinner and they had put cream and cocoa powder all over it. I was livid because it was a very expensive personalised cake and I had not asked them to do this. I had to wipe all the cream off it so that we could take the rest of the cake home. It was 11pm when we were finishing our meal and we were the last ones in the restaurant and the door was locked. I couldn't believe it!! A city centre restaurant locking up at 11pm on a Saturday night?!? Overall I was not impressed and won't be coming back.

Texas Steakout is an old reliable in Limerick city, I had thought the quality had gone down a bit but I visited lately and had a fantastic meal, whether you're in a large group or going as a couple, its a great spot with great food!

Texas Steakout Restaurant is ideally situated on the main street of Limerick city, directly in the vicinity of the city nitelife. The variety of food available is so great that no-one will be left disappointed, all tastes are catered for. The staff are very friendly and helpful which compliments the relaxed and exquisite ambience in the restaurant, little would you know the city nite life was on your doorstep. The value of food is very respectable as far as dining out in ireland goes. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for anyone wishing to dine in style and hit the town afterwards. Can't get better.

Texas Steakout is still one of the best places to eat - the food is always perfect and the staff can't do enough for you and are always friendly. The surroundings add to its charm and we have been going there as long as I can remember and will continue to do so, as long as it's around !

The Texas Steakout is consistently good, for casual, fun American dining. Great atmosphere, especially if you are in a group. I would recommend this as a venue for Christmas office parties.

The Texas Steakout offers a wide variety of foods but mainly it'd the atmosphere in the actual restaurant itself. The mussels for starters are beautiful and so are the Texas Steakout House Burgers with the nicest sautéed mushrooms. Also a main part of the meal is the actual middle course itself so go easy on the starters

Best place to eat in Limerick if you have a mixed group...they have great steaks, a decent veggie section and great Mexican food. Mains are quite big, so go easy on the starters if you want dessert! Staff are friendly and service is great. A definite winner.
