Visited this restaurant last weekend and really enjoyed the meal. They were doing a deal called "Dining in Limerick" for 25 euro. I had garlic mushrooms and my friend had a selection of bruschetta, followed by a lovely steak and then lemon tart for dessert. The couple who served us were very helpful and friendly. It was a lovely relaxing evening and I would definitely recommend it for a nice night out, great value!

went here for lunch, had chicken&brocolli risotto, service is painfully slow if the place is packed or its just you and your party!!Staff are lovely though. Risotto was nice, a bit shy with the chicken and maybe could have been a bit creamier, good value for portion size though.

The food is gorgeous. The service is quite slow but I don't mind waiting for good food. The stuffed mushrooms are to die for. Friendly owner.

went for meal here last night a party of 6 of us where we were seated was very cramped. when the starters arrived 5 of us got them 1 was left waiting for a couple of mins but the starters were really nice, mains were delicious and went without a hitch then desserts 4 ordered them 3 recieved and 1 left waiting this time for about 15 mins which was ridiculous. there were 2 servers although nice seemed incapable of coping when the place got a bit busy.dont think i will be going back there for a long time we all were very disappointed with the service there...

The only thing I liked here was decor. I ried the spag bol but I found the sauce very bland. The service wasn't great as we had to call staff a few times for wine, water extra cheese etc. Prices seem reasonable as portions are big. My partner had the pizza which he enjoyed and I found myself picking at that to fill me up a bit!!

I have eaten here many times. Wonderful Romantic restaurant. Small but the atmosphere is so special. Food is delicious but the menu needs refreshed. The house Red is a very nice wine. Good Value for Money

12 of us ate here for my birthday and I was thoroughly unimpressed. We were left at the table for at least half an hour before anyone even approached us with menus and then had to try and get their attention for another 10 minutes as no wine menu was provided. We eventually ordered wine, which arrived quickly yet waited and waited again to order food. As so much time had passed we just had mains which were nothing special at all. My prawn spaghetti dish may have had 4/5 frozen prawns, and the carbonara was tasteless. The staff were rude and bordering on obnoxious. This experience left a very bad taste in my mouth and certainly would not return to this 'restaurant'

I've been here for luch a few times and have tried their pizza as it was recommended to me and I must say it was delicious, I've ordered it since. I decided to try something other than a pizza the last time I was there and had spag bol which was a mistake I found it very tangy and it had an unplesant aftertaste. The garlic mushrooms for a starter are delicious and along with a pizza would be a lovely treat as the place is relatively expensive.

La Piccallo Italia on O'Connell Street in Limerick is simply the best restaurant I have ever been to. The service is brilliant, the staff are friendly, there's a great atmosphere, the food is mouth watering and this all comes at an extremely resonable price. I thoroghly recommend it.

I still can't believe they don't sell beer! My non-wine drinking husband nearly keeled over when we found this out... it's the first Italian restaurant I've ever been in that doesn't sell birra at the very least. La Piccola Italia came highly recommended to us as being a truly authentic Italian restaurant so we were interested if it would beat our benchmark in Bray. Sadly not. The restaurant was absolutely packed for a wet Thursday evening and we were seated at a very cosy table for two near the door. We ordered garlic bread and tomato bruschetta to share as a starter - they were both very good, but I was surprised that no garlic or basil joined the tomato. For mains, I chose Scallopini al Limone & Himself had the Chicken Scallopini with a white wine & herb sauce. My veal was a little too acidic but his chicken was fabulous. One piece of sharp practice I detest in restaurants is serving absolutely nothing with the main, but asking you what type of potatoes you would like, and then charging you extra when you receive your bill at the end of the evening. It's a petty thing to do & I'd much prefer if restaurants were more honest about what you do get in an upfront manner. I had Tiramisu for dessert and himself had a mixture of icrecreams which included a really good Hazelnut icecream. Service in the restaurant wasn't a patch on the food and we had to almost stand on the table waving a napkin to get more drinks, despite the bar being 10 feet away from us! In fact, once we asked for the bill, we were ignored for 20 minutes and I had to walk to the bar to pay the bill of €79

Went there with a large group, they could certainly handle groups. Atmosphere is lovely, has a nice feel to it. Would def recommend the bruscetta.
