Paid a return visit to the Jasmine Palace as we were so impressed with it last time around. On this occasion we were seated in a different area altogether and there just wasn’t the same ambience. A lot of dishes have been taken off the menu too. Not sure if this is just for the early bird or if it’s right across the board. Our meal was good and the service was prompt, but there seemed to be a lot of staff just standing around, which was a bit off-putting. Our return visit was disappointing, and it does seem that things have been allowed to slip a bit.

It’s been two years since we last dined in the Jasmine Palace. They still so a 3-course early bird for €17.50 which is very good value. The menu however is not as extensive as it once was and the atmosphere was somewhat lacking. However, this was probably due to the early hour of the evening. Food and service were good. It’s a nice place to have a meal but can’t quite put my finger on what the difference was this time around.

Had lunch before the Munster v Northampton match, but was extremely dissappointed in it. We waited 35 minutes for our starter to be delivered, and this was only after we queried the delay. We were told that the computer wasn't working !Our mains were one house special satay and one green beef curry. Both were bland and tasteless. I have eaten at the Jasmine very regularly over the last few years and enjoyed the experience. However, no acknowledgement or apology was made about the delay in service. This, together with the poor quality of the food means that I will not return for a long time.

Group of 4 of us went here for the Sunday buffet €19.50 all you can eat, Food was brillant I cant say a bad word about it, how ever the service was not friendly, I know this was a buffet but we felt very rushed. They replace your cutlery for you and twice I had to go ask someone to replace mine after they had taken it away, each time it felt like you were interrupting the waiters. One friend decided to go up for a 3rd time to try some other starters and her fork and knife were never returned. Instead a spoon was put in front of her for dessert. She asked for extra cutlery and never got it so she couldnt eat her last dish. We each got a drink each and once we were empty no one asked if we wanted another one so we ended up leaving earlier than we probally would have if they had been nicer.

Went here on Saturday 22nd of January with a group of eleven friends. The restaurant was very busy after the rugby match; we had a table booked for 7.30pm and did not get our table until 9pm. Though the food was good as usual we were very disappointed with the service - we got no apology for the delay.

Had dinner in the Jasmine last Saturday night.Had a table booked for 8.30pm but still had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. They have a nice relaxing area to wait where you can enjoy a drink. It was worth the wait as the meal was excellent.I especially loved the Creme Brulee.Excellent value for money, three courses for under twenty four euro per person. The waiter that served us was very efficient & friendly.Great atmosphere in restaurant.Wil be back gain soon

Ate here for a friend's birthday. wasn't too keen on going as not really into Chinese food but was delighted their menu included all sorts of other dishes. Had Pork starter, extremely fatty.but the Prawns main were dee-lish!! Service was brilliant, prices for food were very good but thought 5.25 for bottle of beer bit steep. Liked the fact it was very child friendly. Twas a Sat nite about half 7 and nearly every table had children at it. Now I know it's not just chinese I'll go back

This is a really special restaurant. Always busy, the food is always delicious and there's always a great atmosphere in the restaurant. Decor is lovely, not incredibly pricey but the little add-ons are a bit disappointing.. service charge for our group was 10% (there were 14 of us, we ate and drank quite a lot). Overall though, a really great restaurant. It's not your typical chinese restaurant, go here if you want something special. I highly recommend the earlybird or all you can eat buffets on Sunday for real value for money.

I went here for a party and we had a great time. The food was very nice, the place had a nice busy atmosphere and they played happy birthday for the birthday girl which was nice. It took a while for the food to arrive as it wqas so busy, but it was worth staying just for the dessert. I recommend the sticky toffee pudding to everyone!

We went here for an early dinner and ate from the early evening menu. It was really good value for two courses at €17.50. The Jasmine has been a little erratic of late but it was very good tonight. The service was very efficient. The drinks are overpriced still.

I organised a birthday for my father here. We had a great night the staff were very nice and efficient. Very helpful when booking and organising a cake. Couldn't fault the food. They played happy birthday over the speakers when they brought out a cake which was a nice touch. Good atmosphere, will definitely be back.

Went here for a low key birthday dinner. Food excellent - really recommend the general tso's salad and seafood hot pot. The food prices have dropped here recently and 22.50 for 3 courses was excellent value.. Paying 5.25 for a long neck bottle of bulmers is quite steep tho! The place was full and at times it was quite loud.... Service was a little bit up and down but nothing too shoddy. The 5 happy birthday interruptions with very loud music blaring in just over an hour got a little bit waring! Also, it's freezing!

Had a very enjoyable meal here with my husband and a few close friends. The services was tip-top, and the food was absolutely gorgeous. We were in for about 6.30 which allowed us to opt for the early bird menu, excellent value, and deliciously tasty. Starters; Mains; Desserts; Cappachinos; bottle of wine,(with a coke for the driver!) was settled for less than €100.00. Definitely the best value for quality food in the current climate. Well recommended a visit!

Have eaten in Jasmin Palace couple of times recently with my husband and with couple of other friends. The atomosphere is very good and service good too. Food is tasty and presented well just that the portion is little small. Currently early bird is quite good value for an ordinary dinne out where not for special occasions. Overall experiences is good and would recommend if anyone want to go.

Had a lovely meal as always in the Jasmine. The decor is lovely and the staff are always very warm and welcoming. I love there spring rolls and their sweet and sour chicken. My boyfriend had the crispy shreadded chicken and he said it was perfect. The food is very reasonably priced and there is always a good atmosphere in the restaurant.

I was really not impressed on my last visit here. Although prices are considerably reduced in the last few months it is really not good value when the food is not good. The service is efficient.

I use to be a fun of Jasmine ,but for 2 years now find the food and service a little bit dissapointing. Revisited last week with the friends. Ordered my favourite duck with veg. and was dissapointed. The meat was not fresh- more likely cooked from frozen. You would expect a little bit class from place like Jasmine. In general new menue was good value and I like new addition -coctails and very good vine list. I hope that I am the only one who was unlucky with my food. The rest of my friends enjoyed the evening.

I went here recently and the service and food were very good and its a very nice place. The only Chinese I like more is in Nenagh. The price is very reasonable as three course offer is €21.50 I think. I had the nicest started ever. It was chicken wrapped in bacon with a delicous sauce, I forget the name of it. The main course and deserts were great too. We also had a bottle of wine and tea for two and altogether it cost around €60, Thats €30 each for a great 3 course dinner and the early bird menu is even cheaper if we had gone before 7. The atmosphere is also excellent and I will definetly go again.

Bit disappointed on this occasion had a starter of bbq ribs which were all bone and no meat. The chicken curry and rice were very average. The chicken was not very fresh and the sauce did not have much taste. 10 % service charge was not a nice desert and I had a lot of hassle trying to pay for my bill as I wanted to pay separate from the people that I was dining with. The temperature in the restaurant was going from cold to hot and hot to cold while we were dining there. It will be a long time before I am tempted back.

Ate here with two friends, it was lovely. We had a starter and main each and shared a desert. Starters were just the right portion size and delicious. Mains the same, noodles cooked to perfection and my chicken dish was scrumptious. Staff were nice and attentice. The atmosphere in the restaurant was fabulous, it attracted us to it in the first place. Only one complaint - music at one point was just too loud. Other than that, great meal and if I am in Limerick again, I will return.

Went to the Jasmine palace restaurant on Saturday and O My God what a night the atmosphere was excellent, jam packed, the staff were very friendly. We got there at 7.30 and went for the set dinner which was 21.50 euro for any starter off the a la carte menu and any main course and desert what great value. I also noticed that the early bird menu was only 16.50 from 4 to 7 for any starter and main course off the a la carte menu also and both menus will run through out christmas what a great deal. I will definatley be returning.

Myself and 2 friends visited The Jasmine for an early bird special on a friday evening. The special included 4 courses for roughly €22.50 each, including a bottle of house wine. This was extremely good value. The starters were delicious- duck pancakes and chicken satay. The main courses were yummy too- kung po chicken, beef and a vegetarian dish for my friend (cant remember what she ordered but it was noodlely and scrumptious apparently). The desserts were nothing special, but tasty overall. The portions were subtantial - whats the point in being stuffed for hours after a meal out- How much food does a person need?! I have found that this is the best Chinese in Limerick city- always fresh and tasty food, and they have the most delicious yellow curry - the best i have ever tasted! I will go back again for sure.

What do people see in this restaraunt anymore?? I mean 15 years ago. The Jasmine was the place to go. I have been many many times, usually invited by guests with varing sucess. Quite recentrly, I visited Limericks long established bastion to Chinese food and was surprised on a lot of levels. The atmosphese was as usual good with a lot of office/group parties and families with a smattering of loved up couples. A LOT of refurbishmenst has taken place ( no doubt with a big bill to the owners) but the food was officially the most expensive Chinese/Cantonese food I have eaten world wide!! the portions were small and luke warm. Everything was an extra (incl Prawn crackers, water etc). I would guess that have 70+ tables which get turned around on an hourly basis. Would I go back?? By choice no...but its traditionally the heatbeat of the birthday/office party scene in Limerick, i may not have a choice !!!

Went for the Al-carte last night and found portions had been reduced and food luke warm. Service was excellent as always, just very disappointed with the food as maybe it was an off night but felt had a lot better from the jasmine, but will return. the prices on the Al-carte are exceptionally pricey compare to what they are charging on the set menu.

I was in here for my mates birthday and had a good time. Whilst it is fairly exoensive, you do get good food and good portions. They even brough out a cake for my friend. SHe was more then impressed with that and so were we! It was also on them. I have never seen them to do this before but I'm glad they did, it really made the meal! As for the food it was tasty, I ordered the chicken curry and I have very particular tastes and dont liek some ingrediants and wanted it to be less psicy and they did all this for me perfectly! Good job guys!

just missed the early bird and went alacarte.. didnt mind paying as it was a special occasion a party of 6 of us for a birthday... I have to say we have eaten in the jasmine many times and I felt it was really bad... as a restaurant in which you pay top price for you expect everything to be right.. the service was good but the food wasnt.. they have stopped giving prawn crackers at the table before the meal and they no longer give after dinner mints with the coffee, this is really penny pinching considering the price you are paying for food there and places are now giving better value for money not worse value for money.. the food came out cold and in portions that are served for the early bird and when we complained about the food not being that warm the girl said she saw it as being hot coming from the kitchen eventhough we were the ones eatting it! Bad value for money if eating of the alacarte. I would assume good value for money on the early bird.. need to give more for money not less in times like this!

Me and 2 friends came here Saturday night having not been for years and to be honest I was a bit disappointed. Only 2 of us got starters, the grilled black prawns and the crispy wontons and both were a small portion, and quite tasty. For mains we had sweet and sour chicken, kung po chicken and crispy beef and none of us were overly impressed. The food could have done with being a bit warmer, and having a bit more sauce, I think we all felt that the dishes were a bit dry but maybe that's their intention. The desserts were to die for though, a good thing seeing as Chinese restaurant desserts can be only so so.Two of us had the white chocolate and marshmallow cheesecake which was beautiful and the tiramisu was equally good. All in all it was an enjoyable experience with great service but not necessarily the best Chinese I've had. Definately a place that you need to have each course in to avoid leaving the restaurant still hungry!

Been to this restaurant a few times now. Its always consistently good, however not really somewhere for couples as there does be large crowds and quite noisy at times. Very busy so and would recommend to book ahead especially at the weekend.

Nice chinese restaurant. Good food, nice atmosphere, pity about the waiter who kept checking his phone and forgetting our orders! I had Wasabi prawns which were delicious, although not much of a wasabi taste. I had General Tso chicken, a delicious house speciality. Overall I would recommend this place for a good chinese meal.

Went here the end of March for a birthday party, would be a big fan of this restaurant was always a treat going here. Was very disappointed though to say the least! First there were no prawn crackers being sereved any more on arrival (they are not serving them at all now), then when the starters arrived the portions were absolutly tiny (noticebly smaller than any other time I visited) and then when the mains arrived while very tasty they were just barely warm. Now in a restaurant where you pay €23.50 for a main course you would expect it to be hot. Service was good though as always and staff are very friendly. Not sure about going back any time soon think you can get better value for money

Seven of us went here while in Limerick for the weekend and we found the place great. It was a birthday celebration and we got a cake which was really fresh and good value. The food was great and its a really top class restaurant. Lots of cocktails available too.

I ate here with a group of 16 on Saturday night. The staff were very helpful and attentive, the atmosphere in the place was great and the big round table with the turn top was ideal for a large group. I had pork meat sung for starters which I shared with one other person and it was gorgeous. I had Duck cantonesse style for my main which was also lovely, everyone else enjoyed their food too!

The Jasmine Palace has recently added 2 Japanese tepanyaki grills at the back of the restaurant. The food is fantastic, and cooked right before your eyes. We shared two of the set menus that included miso soup, sushi and then grilled steak and sea-food. A very authentic Japanese experience, and the best food I've had in a long time. Highly recommended!

I have eaten at Jasmine Palace twice recently – once on the Early Bird & once A La Carte. On both occasions I have been highly impressed with the food – definitely above average Chinese. The Kung Po Chicken had the perfect flavour to spice balance and the Sichuan Prawn was delicious – but quite spicy! The Early bird for EUR 22 is incredible value – starter, main, dessert & tea/coffee. Food is taken from the main menu & there is a very good choice. This will definitely become a regular spot for me.

First time in Limerick, but this was one of the nicest Chinese's I've ever had. Modern decor, great food. Was a bit disappointed that the 'crispy duck pancakes' course on our set menu was actually only one pre-rolled pancake each, but that was my only complaint. Food was very tasty. Even the desserts were fab, which is not the case in every Chinese.

Took my mom here for a mothers day meal,as usual, excellent food, restaurant was exceptionally busy & there was a small hitch with our order but we weren't bothered considering the overall great ambience & newly refurbished surroundings.... 10/10!

Never been disappointed with the food. Starters are my favourite. Buffet on Sunday is the best I have been to.

Great Sunday buffet. As one of the longest established Chinese restaurants in Limerick, this is a winner. Great for groups.
