took 2 friends that were en-route thru limerick here for the early bird...shouldnt have bothered.it was appalling. chicken wings for starters were cold, ordered rice anc crispy chicken for main..whilst chicken was nice, rice was very dry and came with no sauce at all, 1 of the party had stew and it was very unappetising looking. another ordered penne pasta dish, a stir in sauce at home would have been a better quality dish...I was ashamed and nnoyed with myself that I had brought them here.

I had lunch here on monday, it was ok, almost what you'd expect from hotel food really service was a little slow but friendly not cheap though. On the plus side though it is decorated quite nicely and it is comfortable

I ate there last sunday with a group of friends. The food tasted absolutely delicious, fresh and tasty. It was very reasonable aswell.Service was v good. There was 6 of us in the group and everyone was v happy with the food and agreed we would return there again soon. I read the last 2 reviews of this restaurant and was surprised that they were not good. Maybe the hotel took this on board and improved things.

OK for hotel food. I stayed at the hotel for a weekend, and the hotel itself is lovely. Food wise, the George is OK, but not the best. I had simple chicken goujons, which seemed to be straight out of a packet from the freezer. Not worth the ~€10 that I paid for them. A friend had a simple beef burger, and paid ~ €14, again not worth it. Perhaps the next time I'm in Limerick I will try somewhere else.

Took my mother here for lunch last Sunday and was very disappointed with several aspects. They are now doing a meal deal every day but we were not shown this menu. On this there was fish and chips and enchiladas for €15. We ordered these from main menu at a cost of 14.95 and 18.50. When i realised i stated my annoyance to the restaurant manager who tried to fob me off with excuses. Eventually he realised I was not going to pay him so I got the meal deal. The food was tasty but service in taking orders etc was slow. I may venture here again but will be watching their charges

I ate lunch here one afternoon and was really impressed with the food, if not with the speed of service! I had a panini and home made chips, which were absolutely delicious! A whole bowl of thick cut chips with the skin on.The panini had goats cheese and mediterranean vege- lovely and tasty too. The only complaint was the time i was waiting for the food- about 20mins. My work colleague ordered the same, so I couldnt understand why it took so long, as it wasnt that busy. Was pricey enough for lunch, but then where isnt these days? Overall great food, but average service.

I ate here Sunday evening, the staff were friendly, efficient & pleasant. The food was good value for money. While service was a little slow this could be forgiven. However I take exception to the volume of the music. A dj had set up in the bar beside the restuarant, and all speakers were connected. We sat down to eat at 8.30pm. at around 10pm we ended up leaving the restaurant because we were unable to hear one another speak! Absolutely unacceptable!! Not what one expects from a boutique hotel!

We stayed in the hotel and part of the deal included dinner. What we weren't told when booking is that this dinner is from a set menu. Bah! I don't like set menus, and this one was particularly disappointing. Was tempted to go for the 'homemade' burger, but when I asked the waiter about it he confessed they were actually frozen, no thanks. What we eventually ordered was bland and greasy and totally disappointing. Only good point was the service.

Ate here a few times. Twice for lunch and both times we got lunch at around 13.45 after arriving at 13.05 - not good enough at all. Food is drab at best. Had dinner here on one occassion and we nearly walked out on seeing the menu - out of boredom. Very boring menu and we were both hungry. Ended up staying as it was late. Starter was calamari which was overcooked. Steak was pretty good but again overcooked and the cheeseboard was a disaster - a bizzare collection of cooking cheeses. Never seen such a poorly thought out cheeseboard. Only good thing about the cheeseboard was that they gave me a little pot of honey and some good crackers. Don't bother with this place. Oh - and the staff are friendly but poor.

GBK is a great addition to dining in limerick city, been here for lunch on a few occasions and had an evening meal once, the menu has something to suit everyone, lovely decor and friendly staff!
