I went to this restaurant with some friends before Christmas. It is one of the nicest restaurants in Limerick, I have been there several times and have never been disappointed. The starters are just fab, especially the pork belly. All the main courses are really good, I have tried beef, lamb and fish and all have been exceptional. My friends hadn't been in the restaurant before but were most impressed with the meal. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is great. Lovely location overlooking the Shannon. All the desserts are yummy expecially the lemon tart. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good night out with excellent food and service.

I recently went to this restaurant with my husband and I have to say it was fab. We were not sure what to expect but the food and quality of service blew us away. We had the prawns and French onion soup to start. Prawns were the decent sized ones with a beautiful dressing and the soup was the real French version. We had the beef and lamb for main, both were melt in the mouth and came with really good sides. The dessert platter was perfect to finish. The waiting staff were very attentive and really knew there stuff about the wines. This is an un-assuming restaurant with amazing food and a really good atmosphere. We will be back!

Fabulous! I have dined in this restaurant several times in the last year and each time the experience has been great! Last night was no exception. My Mum, my aunt and myself couldn't say enough about this place. From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out we were treated with A1 service and all for a very reasonable price. We loved the ambience and the food ! All 3 courses were super. I highly recommend the fois gras, duck & bacon salad and the Beef Bourgignon. My Mum also loved her Veal dish and the Dessert Platter for two went down a treat! This is definitely the best restaurant in Limerick and has been for several years now. If you go here, 'Bon appetit ! ' You won't be disappointed.

always a fantastic experience. The staff are friendly and efficient with great knowledge of the dishes and eclectic wines of the list. The food never fails to impress, always beautifully presented and amazingly flavorsome. The atmosphere at the weekends is buzzing and despite the restaurant being full you never feel rushed. nowhere else in Limerick compares.

We had a lovely meal except for a draught next to our table, when we complained it was not apologised for so it but a dampener on what was otherwise a good night. Most of the staff were very friendly.

My husband and I went to Frech Table for my birthday dinner yesterday. The place for a Tuesdday and just after Christmas was fairly busy which shows the quality of the restaurant. Atmosphere was quiet but not dead, overview to the river added some romantic, service is just right no annoying but definitely sufficient. We both loved our starter and our main which was fablous, but the dessert was just about. The overall value I should rate it high still with the food, service and price, for a fine dinner place.

Everything about this restaurant is fantastic. I have eaten here on a number of occasions and never fail to be impressed. The service and food were excellent. I met several people I knew here on the night and all were equally impressed. The location is not the most convenient, however, the restaurant stands out and is well worth a visit.

I visited this restaurant with my mother, both she and myself were disappointed with our last visit to a Limerick restaurant so hoped to be pleasently surprised. The menu is small enough to be perusable at lunch, (it was a daytime excursion) yet varied enough to suit most tastes and needs. I paticulary liked the idea of serving both large and small portions of the salads. Both of us went with the fish of the day, as avid fish lovers. It was beautifully cooked, indulgent yet simple, the way fish should be. the sides of veg and potatoe were just enough and the presentation perfect and neat. We both commented that if we had been handed it up at an evening sitting we would have been delighted. Crepes for dessert were lovely, a nice light option and delightful to see as it is marketed as a French restaurant. And to top it off, the ambience is good, nice plain decor and soft music, if not the most elegant of locations, and also the price is impeccable considering the exception standard of food. Will definitely return.

Had dinner here last night and was very impressed. The food was excellent. I had prawns to start, which were delicious. My friend had the Toulouse sausage, which was also tasty. I had rabbit for main course and my friend chose veal. They were both piping hot and very good. I skippped dessert, but my friend had the pear and almond tart which was served with a scoop of ice-cream. The service was pleasant but efficient.Perhaps the only criticism I would have is that there wasn't enough of a lull between courses! Having said that, I didn't feel rushed at any stage, we lingered over a glass of wine for a while after we had finished eating. The bill was also reasonable. Overall, a very pleasant experience and good value for money. I look forward to returning soon

This is by far the best restaurant in Limerick. The food is fantastic. The staff are extremely knowledgable and unintrusive, they really are excellent. It is not particularly cheap but they never rush you out and do not charge extra for vegetables etc and offer more. There are no hidden charges like in some other restaurant. Well worth a visit. Excellent, keep it up!

I would highly recommend this restaurant. The ingredients were very fresh. The food was cooked to perfection. It was tasty and the portions were perfect. I would personally recommend the prawns to start. The confit duck just fell off the bone. The creme brulee was delicious. They also served a delicious amuse bouche which was salmon tartare. They also served mini fruit tartlets before dessert. The service was excellent, very friendly and well informed staff. The ambience was lovely.

I visited this restaurant for the first time last month. It is a lovely experience, with friendly staff. There were 5 of us, friends catching up. They sat us beside a elderly couple which I didn't feel was the best idea. (Well you know what women are like for talking) I felt like we were disturbing their meal. With regards our food that we ordered, I got a lovely cheese platter for starters and fish, then finished with a beautiful bottle of dessert wine. But I felt the food was very expensive for what was served. I was very pleased with the food overall. I thought the actual restaurant was quite hard to find from the dock road, lack of advertising or sign posting on the road. It was a lovely experience but would not recommend it for a restaurant to catch up with friends and have a chat

came here without a booking and they gave us table, was really looking forward to evening has comes highly rated, a nice waitress served us and was friendly. so i went for the toulouse sausage & wild mushroom which was very disappointing was very dry and not much wild mushroom, maybe i got unlucky because people talk about this dish in particular. had the trio of fish for main course which was really good and cooked just right, so much happier now! then had the nougat glace with berries for dessert which was the nicest dessert i had in years. so in the end was quite happy, only thing i could say was person in charge on night did not even ask us how was everything even though he cleared our mains. will return again though.

My wife and I arrived wihout a reservation but were quickly led to a table and given menus and the daily specials. Fresh bread and a jug of water soon arrived. The waitress was excellent and the food arrived soon after ordering and it was amazing. We had 3 courses and coffee and everything was perfect. There was a pleasant buzz of conversation when we arrived and the restaurant was nicely full as we left. The service and atmosphere were excellent and the food was exceptional considering the very reasonable cost. We will be returning very soon.

An unplanned extra night in Limerick, left my husband and I having to find a place to eat. Our driver said he knew just the place, as he had taken his wife and family there for an anniversary. We were duly booked in and dropped off by the Shannon at the French Table, a fairly new Restraunt we were told. This was one time when taking a recommendation really paid off. From the moment we entered ,until we left, we were made to feel special, the food was absolutely outstanding, and the reccomended wine surpassed our expectations by a long way.The service was faultless, the ambiance excellent, and the entire visit was a big success, and good value for money. I have not been moved to submit a review for any Restraunt until now , but the French table deserves its 5 stars and I wish them well, they deserve their success.

Ate here on Friday Night last with my partener and I was really impressed. The restaurant was quite which was surprising considering the reveiws i had been hearing about it!!! The food was the best I have ever had in limerick, just simple, hearty and authentic, excellent value aswell (no extra charge for sides) I had the fois gras to start and the Rib Eye for main and it was purely delishious, the only fault i had with it is that it left me with no room for dessert!!! The coffees were served with beautiful petit fours which was a great touch. The service was perfect, we were served by the owners who were obvious experts in their field, attententive and friendly without being obtrusive. Lovely people with a great manner. Food excellent, Wine excellent and Service second to none......best place to go in Limerick by a mile.

Thank God for this lovely place! We had lunch here today and this was the best Birthday lunch one could wish for. Nice and tasteful interior, very clean and the food and service were perfect in every way. After some bad or not great experiences lately with other restaurants I dare saying this certainly deserves to be called one of Limerick's best restaurants. My hubby and I can't wait to come back here for a dinner soon and if that will be as gorgeous as todays lunch we'll be here once a week! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

What a find! The French Table is well worth a visit for quality and price. We munched happily on some delicious bread and homemade crisps while we browsed the menu. Starters of prawns and Toulouse sausage were very good. The special that evening was pithivier limousin (a meat pie) and was professed the best pie ever by my husband. I had the trio of fish (sea bass, monkfish and lemon sole) which was perfectly cooked with a delicious buttery sauce. Sides of new potatoes and veg were included in the price of the mains. For desert we had pear and almond tart and chocolate mousse, both outstanding. Excellent value at €101 including a bottle of Riesling. We'll be returning on our next vist to Limerick.

Went here for my birthday dinner. The taxi driver wasn't even sure where is was but it was so central to town. I got French Onion Soup and their special of a trio of fish (fab), my boyfriend got the prawns to start and the special of Casoulet for the main. The atmoshpere was lovely but some hoity toity people there who were looking at me a bit funny when I was laughing loudly but I didn't really mind- I was enjoying myself. The service was great, the hostess explained everything about the specials and we never had to ask for anything- they were always on hand to offer more water or whatever else we needed. Plus it was good value. For a 3 course meal for 2 it was €70, plus a lovely bottle of red for €26. Would reccommend

Restaurant location isn't great and is well off the beaten path. However, the food was excellent and is probably the best in Limerick- obviously the chef knows his stuff - which made it worth the effort. The staff were friendly and helpful but the atmosphere in the restaurant was a little like a library. I would return again for the food and service.

One of the nicest meals i have had in a long time. The choice is wonderful, and everyone around the table was happy. From the wine to the veg and everything in between, nothing was left behind. The staff are very friendly and professional. I will be back as soon as I can, I will also be recommending it to everyone who is eating out in Limerick.

Without a doubt the most enjoyable meal we've had out in Limerick in a very long time! We ate at The French Table for a birthday celebration and as we like our food we were hoping not to be disappointed. Well, the food was absolutely beautiful and the service attentive but not intrusive. Perfect. Treat yourselves to a meal here, you won't be disappointed! Perfect for a dinner for two or a larger group. We had the Goat's cheese and duck tart and the tartare of smoked salmon to start and the trio of fish and crispy potato rosti for mains. Mmmmm....wonderful!!!

From start to finish, an absolutely fantastic meal. A fantastic alternative to the standard steak and chicken restaurants scattered around Limerick City. The service was friendly and efficient. Value for money is a rare treat in a restaurant but The French Table most definitely provides this. A must for anyone who is looking to try something new.

Had a lovely evening in the French Table recently while on a visit to Limerick. I have to say the food and service was excellent. The friendly and welcoming front of house staff made me feel right at home and the food that followed was delicious. Would definately recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes good service, good food and good value for money. Have recommended the French Table to business colleagues and friends since and feedback from them has been equally positive.

Bravo!! Being French myself I had great expections from this new french restaurant. It did not let us down. Very nice to have a taste of home with such a good service. The Trio of Fish and the Rabbit were very tasty. Never tried a Creme Brulée like that even in some of the best restaurants in France!

was in limerick for munster match this weekend and highlight of visit was dinner at the French Table restaurant on Friday night. Food was absolutely superb and extremely keenly priced. From what I've seen of Limerick city I wouldn't be too enamoured with the place but this restaurant is a shining jewel and I would encourage any visitors to limerick not to miss an opportunity to dine here. This is french cuisine at it's authentic and glittering best.It would wipe the floor with any of Dublin's overpriced pseudo restaurants

This was my first visit to this restaurant which had come highly recommended by a friend. I was one of a party of four and our choice of dishes included the Toulouse sausage, the french onion soup and the fois gras for starters. Our main courses were rib-eye steaks, trio of fish and duck. Our desserts were crepes with berries, chocolate mousse, creme brulee and the almond and pear tart. All of us were delighted with our meal and could find no fault whatsoever with our dishes. It was a top class dining experience! The service and staff were excellent and contributed to the overall visit. We were also very happy with the cost which we thought reasonable in relation to the quality of the food. I would have no hesitation in returning to this restaurant and look forward to my return visit. It is a restaurant I would highly recommend.

Delicious French Food, Great Service and Value for Money is The French Table. I had a meal here a couple of weeks ago and I have to say, this is what Limerick has been crying out for. I eat out quite alot whether it be business or pleasure. From the moment we walked into the warm ambiance of The French Table we were greeted immediately and brought to our seats by the very friendly staff. I had the fois gras with brioche and onion marmalade which was excellent and the main course of grilled loin of veal was the best I have ever tasted. It was so succulent. My husband had the French Onion soup to start and described it as impeccable. He had the trio of fish which was presented so well and tasted even better. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The selection of French wines was very good and it was nice to see different names. The wine we chose complimented the food very well. We chose the creme brulee and crepes with raspberry sorbet for dessert and finished with Baileys coffee. I will most definately be coming back to The French Table and I will be recommending it to all my work collegues and friends.

I visited the French Table for dinner last night with my wife. I returned after having a fantastic lunch there about two weeks ago with work which impressed me alot. From the very start it was a wonderful experience. The ambiance is terrific with the window tables looking out on a beautiful view of the river, lights and bridge. We were made feel so welcome and relaxed, wonderful service. The food was amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection and the desserts were in themselves pieces of art. I would highly recommend The French Table for a very special lunch or dinner. I will certainly be returning over the Christmas period.

I enjoy eating out at least once a week, I see good food as a treat and have been to some of the best restaurants around. The French Table has been one of the most disppointing. When we arrived we were not shown to our table, we were told to choose one and the waiter followed us down with menus a few minutes later. When taking our order I asked for a glass of rose. The food was ok, I had the goats cheese starter for my main but cheese was still cold in the middle of the tart and not served melted as it should have been. i had the lamb for my main and asked for it cooked medium rare. " pieces were cooked as I asked for and the 3rd was welldone, not at all satusfactory. Overall I was disappointed, I found the atmosphere was lacking, the restaurant was too bright and it was cold. Our €4 tip tells exactly how we felt. We won't be returning. There are far superior restaurants in the limerick area.

Had dinner 2 weeks ago at the French table. I'm originally from Limerick but moved to Waterford and I've never had a better meal in Limerick than the meal i had in the French table. it was a Thursday night, really cold out, and the warm atmosphere and welcome we got was second to none. we started out with a nice glass of champagne and some fresh bread. i had the scallops (cooked to perfection) with a nice salad, my partner had the foie gras which he loved. for main course i had the confit duck leg which was just melt in the mouth with a nice glass of cabernet sauvignon. my partner had the lamb which he assured me was beautiful. the veg and potatoes were great. we had lemon pie and creme brulee for dessert again without fault. i finished off the meal with a nice baileys coffee. i could not find one fault. this place is what limerick has been calling out for and i will definitely be returning on my next visit to limerick.

Friendly staff. Thank you! But I would definitely not agree, that this was FRENCH cuisine. The salad started was with pine nuts and sesame seeds, and the salad on the main course plate again was with pine nuts and sesame seeds. The vegetables with main course were overcooked and with butter although I had requested my main course to be without any butter/milk. Well, to my mind, this is not a place of high food standards with artful approach which I expected (probably, because of the restaurant's name:-))

I have had two wonderful experiences in the French Table recently. I was taken as a guest one night. I was so impressed with the food, service and location that I returned the following weekend for a second taste. I would highly recommend this restaurant to visitors and locals alike. I know I will be back again and again.

We visited this restaurant recently as a family of six.It was truly a delightful experience-a real gem in the city with a waterfront location.Service was excellent-atmosphere very warm and welcoming.Food was delicious-amazing tastes,a professional and personal touch to all our dishes and beautiful presentation. The pan seared prawns were the best I have ever tasted. The steak was succulent and cooked to perfection. This restaurant brings fine dining in Limerick to a new level. We are looking forward to our next visit.

This is an excellent restaurant and a welcome addition to eating out in Limerick. It passes all the tests with flying colours - beautiful location, great atmosphere, friendly and timely service and above all the best of food cooked to perfection. I had dinner with a group and we covered almost all items on the menu and all agreed with my comments above. This is the best restaurant I have eaten in for some time and I highly recommend it.
