Charming and eclectic, The Mustard Seed is a delightful experience. Little extras like duck filo parcels with pre dinner drinks and supplementary celiac friendly side dishes made this a really pleasant meal. I started with the seabass which was as light and delicately flavoured as you could want. I then had the nettle soup which, aside from being a little under seasoned, was fresh and wholesome. Not stopping there. I tucked into the guinea fowl with wild mushroom risotto. Sadly the rice was undercooked but the fowl was excellent - succulent with a salted crispy skin. The rhubarb creme brulee to finish was tasty and in season. While there were a few misses, this meal had moments of brilliance.

The Mustard seed is absolutely charming, a warm welcoming fire awaits in the hallway, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is truly superb. 7 of us had dinner there and everyone was really pleased with what they ordered. The portions were generous and beautifully presented. I love the fact it is a set menu, especially in mixed company so noone over orders or under orders. Great value.

Excellent place for an occasion! Superb melt-in-your-mouth gastro delights with every course as well as 5 star service. Felt a bit limited though as you have to order from a set menu, at a fixed price. Although they had perfect portions for everything, was too stuffed by the end to really enjoy dessert. However, would definitely recommend to anyone.

Came here for my Birthday and I had the best evening of all time. From food to service it was out of this world.Presentation was phenominal,a truly amazing time. We stayed over in one of the guest rooms, which was very warm and cosy. And I loved the old world charm of the place. It has a real Manor house feel and a nice area you can pick a book from the shelf and relax with a Brandy. Wonderful well done guys.

Very traditional country house with amazing food. The house itself is a little quirky - too many cats around for my liking, sitting on chairs in drawing room etc. but this is a food review site and the food at the Mustard Seed is superb. We had sea bass and duck liver pate to start - both were top drawer. We followed with duck breast and guinea fowl with foie gras. Again fairly faultless. The french influence pervades the menu and having spent a week in the Dordogne in the summer, the menu was truly authentic. Breakfast was v good too. All-in-all a top class dining experience in a small Limerick village.

Wow!!! This is the best restaurant we have ever encountered in Ireland. Super quality!!! Actually, we thought it should have been more expensive because of the high quality ingredients and amazing chef's creations!!! We will come back there definitely and will be recommending this restaurant from now on to everybody!!! We wish the chef all the best!!! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening!!!

This is a great restaurant for a special occasion - a little on the pricy side but you pay for the location and the ambience which is exactly what you want when you are celebrating a birthday. Food was excellent all round - and just enough to eat - not too much and not too little. Bread is amazing.

We celebrated a birthday here. Prices slightly high, but everything was perfect.... food, service, wine.
