What a let down. My boyfriend and I called there for a dinner. The place was dirty and freezing. There was very few people there. I had the Chicken Curry with 1/2 chips-1/2 Rice... the chips were cold and my boyfriend had the Cajun Bap with coleslaw and Chips... his chips were cold too and his bap bland. The presentation of the food was a disgrace. I had a coke and he had a fanta... the total bill came to €29.85 which I thought was a joke.

Called in for a quick bite, ordered a burger. The chips were horrendous, manky frozen things dripping in grease. The burger was big but poor on taste, rubbery cheese with no flavour, limp salad from being under heat lamp. Service wasn't hectic brusque and unhelpful. Chef out in the bar having a chat is not appropriate either. Not calling in again.

Myself and my girlfriend were looking for someplace convenient to grab some lunch/dinner. I hadn't been to Finnegans in a few years, so we said we'd head there as it was convenient. I should have just not eaten anything today...it would have been a much more pleasant experience than the one we had. My girlfriend ordered the garlic mushrooms for starters, followed by the chicken caesar salad for mains. I ordered the chicken gougons, followed by the sirloin steak, medium. The waitress was pleasant efficient. My starter was very tasty, and I couldn't fault it. My girlfriends garlic mushrooms were undercooked, and hard in the center. We had to sent them back. The waitress ( a different one this time) was very nice about it, and brought us back a new starter. The mushrooms were better this time, but still not great. Our mains came shortly after we finished out starters (at least we can say the service was efficient!). My girlfriends Caesar salad was generous in portions, but mediocre in taste. She left most of it behind. My steak was like rubber. The worse I have ever paid for. The mashed potatoes were dry and cold. My vegetables were drowning in parsley sauce (not called out on the menu). I ate about a quarter of my main course, and left €15 worth of vile food behind me on my plate. When settling up our bill, the lady at the till barely acknowledged me, and didn't enquire at all about our meal, and whether everything was ok. I spent about €50 in Finnegans today...

And so back to Finnegan's! A down to earth menu with a tasty 'Mixed Grill' (all day-breakfast with chips). Relaxed atmosphere and decent service. A good place for our department lunch before we broke up for Christmas.

Not too fond of this place, always very busy, long waiting time to be served and then waiting ages fro the food. The portions are big but not worth the price charged. I have often asked for portion of gravy or another drink and am often forgotten about. Wouldn't go there by choice.

A busy place on a Saturday, the staff are a little run off their feet but the food gets to you soon enough. If you think gastro pubs with a retro feel are the hight of culinary fashion and decor, and you don't mind driving half way to Tipperary, and you are desperately searching for an uneatable quantity of familiar food then you will be sorted here! The food is of good enough quality too, in fairness. Although, the vegetarian selection is completely without imagination. My veg main was nothing to write home about. The usual meat meal with the meat left out and a few beans put in. The deserts here are notably tasty.

I have been a customer of Finnegans many times over the years - I would have considered it a reliable, consistent place and reasonable value for money. But was disappointed by my recent visit. I feel the service has disimproved the prices have creeped up somewhat and generally we get a jug of tap water which is fine but it does not taste right at the moment.

Love this place! Was here twice in the last few weeks. Food is always delicious, minimal wait and wholesome. Had the salmon the last day, good size portion, no room for desert! Also would recommend the roast beef and chicken! Starter-vol au vonts yum! Staff friendly, pub is cosy and lovely beer!

Finnegans provides all you need for a wholesome meal. The portion size is generous, the wait time is minimal and the atmosphere is very cosy. The curry is highly recommended and they even do half chips half rice which is great. Its not fine dining but its honest, good, wholesome food. Highly recommended for a stop off.

Finnegan's is great to stop into on the way or coming back from limerick. It has a great atmosphere and the food is hearty. Only downside is that it is often very busy and you may be waiting for a table for quiet a while.

Finnegans is a real traditional "eating house", which serves roasts, soup & sandwiches and a few more deserts. Always busy at weekends it says something about the reliable quality of the food, had an unpleasant experience one sunday evening when I just wanted a coffee and I got a very rude response from the host about where I could and couldn't sit if I wasn't having food!
