Went for a birthday dinner on a sat night in november to this highly recommended restaurant in Adare. Really nice from the outside as is located in a traditional thatched cottage. Two choices for dining the better value early bird set menu and the a la carte option as well. A La Carte is pricey, up to 8.50 for dessert which is too expensive. Most mains ranged 28-32. Very good choice overall and the food was delicious. Only gripe was there were a number of dishes where sweet potatoe was the main ingredient could do with a bit of variety. We had cod and the seafood selection for dinner which didnt dissapoint, service very friendly though took a while for our mains and desserts to be cleared. Would head back again though and have no problem in recommending.

I went here for a meal with a friend to give it another go so to speak, was disappointed the last time overall, this time where as the overall look of the place is quite plain the food was actually ok. Not a bad price either we went for the earlybird special. Will give it another go soon to see if the standard is constant..!

Group of three had dinner here last night and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The food was tasty and service was friendly and professional. The raspberry parfait was to die for. We had the early bird menu which was on a special all evening which made for good value. I would highly recommend

Lovely restaurant with a real homely atmosphere. Deep fried brie was fantastic. Had to waita while to be seated but it was worth the wait. The complimentery appetiser was a nice surprise but could have been served a little earlier as we got our starter almost immediately after so we had to shove it to one side. Overall well priced and lovely food.

Lovely restaurant in Adare. I suppose you could say it is expensive but being used to Dublin prices I didn't think it was too bad for what you get. Don't miss the starter of scallops and black pudding and the main of Monksfish, both delicious and considering the portion size I thought it was reasonable. Nice setting in a little thatch cottage - yes it is quaint/rustic but isn't that what you come to Adare for? I loved it.

Beautiful, elegant quaint restaurant, been here twice and both times I was very impressed. Pea soup was gorgeous. The waiting area reminds me of 1950's party! Loved it! It's not clad in all those bridgestones for nothing! Food was great, had the steak, which was a perfect size and left room for desert. Very chic little place in gorgeous rose cottage. Will definitely return when I'm nest in Adare.

I love this place. Warm homely and friendly welcome. On arrival you can have a pre dinner drink while reading the menu in a waiting area with couches and an open fire. The dining areas (one on ground level and one upstairs) are small, cozy and intimate. The home-made breads are just too nice! The food from amuse bouche to desert is second to none, consistently good. The staff are professional and pleasant.

lovely restaurant - FREEZING waiting area! While the service was faultless, i thought the food was mediocre. The chef here is obviously trying to impress with flavours but my, what a quantity and odd combination of same!! I wouldn't return for that reason...it did not suit my palate at all (or my 4 friends!!) while each individual flavour was very nice they did not complement each other we felt. Most peculiar...

This is a top notch restaurant - a place to go for a very special treat - the prices are fairly high but you're getting a fab atmosphere, great food and service - suits a special occasion.

We ate here about a fortnight ago and its a noce place to go. We had a nice meal and the service is excellent and the place very welcoming. the food on the night was nice but not outstanding and the prices were a little bit on the high side for what you're getting. Overall though I'd recommend it for a nice meal out.

What a great restaurant, our overall experience was above and beyond our expectations . We had a bad dining experience at a restaurant near by the night before but thankfully our meal at the Wild Geese made up for it and salvaged our opinion on dining in the area the staff were great and spoke great English , I found it difficult to understand a word of the waitress the night before, the food was soooo tasty, original and modern. I will be back the next time I am down from Dublin.

Nice atmosphere with a very welcoming pre dinner drink in the sitting room in front of the fire. The upstairs restaurant is small but atmospheric. Unfortunately on the night the food was not up to the prices. The starters were very poor quality - my partners starter (spring rolls) were badly burnt at the ends. My main course (John Dory on shitake mushrooms with bok choy) was also very disappointing. The fish was nice but the mushrooms and sauce were extremely salty, in fact inedible. In their favour it was well handled and we were not charged for one main course. We did not ask for this it was simply deducted. Just as well at €14 per starter and €30 per main course.

Amazing restaurant, I stayed in Adare for 1 week and dined in most of the establishments there but this was by far the best with the blue door being my second favourite. The menu is very creative and it was so difficult to decide what to have! My friend is a vegetarian and the options for her were fantastic. The staff were fantastic as with most places in Adare. Desserts were by far my favorite thing of the whole meal, all homemade and homemade ice creams too! Great atmosphere also, I would recommend this to people looking for great food and atmosphere. I will be back!

Had a lovely meal here on Sunday evening. The menu was generously varied, and they had a good early bird menu. A la carte is on the expensive side, with starters at €14 and mains at €30. For my starter I opted for Baked Bluebell Falls Organic Goats Cheese in a Curry Crust with Panfried Balsamic Pears, which was an unusual but lovely combination of flavours. For mains I had Pan seared Fillet of John Dory topped with Crispy Potato Crust served on Pan fried Jerusalem Artichoke, Shi-Take Mushroom and Bok Choy. It was very nice but the sauce was extremely salty, which was the only flaw for me. For dessert I had the Iced Hazelnut and Pecanut Parfait served on an Orange and Ginger Salad, which was delicious, as I love nuts! The welcome we received was very warm and friendly, and the service was consistently so, however I found the dining room a little cold and lacking in atmosphere. A little background music, nice lighting would have helped also. Overall, it was a good experience, good food, and I am keen to return to sample more dishes from an interesting menu. (Note to Menupages: the menu is not as shown on this website - but the restaurant's own website has an up to date one)

We ate there a few months back just before Christmas and felt it was a truly unique experience. We were welcomed into the 'sitting room' for drinks and to look at the menu before dinner and our order was taken. Shortly afterwards we were brought upstairs to our table, I felt the atmosphere was wonderful and the restaurant itself was totally different to anywhere I've dined before. The food was excellent as was the service. There was nothing I could fault about it apart from the fact that I live so far away!

Entering the restaurant we had high hopes for a nice meal - plenty of Egon Ronay and Georgina Campbell plaques outside the door, and an interesting looking menu. The sitting room area was lovely and cosy and we enjoyed a drink there in front of the open fire. The dining room, however, was a bit on the cold side. We had the three course set menu, which was pretty good value, however the food wasn't to my liking. I thought every dish was too fussy - far too many flavours. Service was good although I think the staff need to be assigned particular tables as we were almost served from someone elses wine bottle, and were asked for our dessert order from two different staff members - a few crossed wires I think, however they were very friendly.
