8 of us had dinner here about 2 weeks ago. We had heard a lot about the restaurant. We found the steaks to be perfectly to everyone's request. I had the steak fajita tower and it was sumptious. However I would just suggest that the steak be cut in thinner strips to help with the eating of the food. My caesar salad was uneventful and overpriced for what was a very small portion. Will try the restaurant again another time I'm sure.

Great service and excellent food. I had the cajun chicken caesar for starters which was more like a main and the steak was fab...with home made chips too! The service for our group of ten was seamless - couldn't fault it. Would highly recommend.

I ate here with a gang of 11 on a Saturday night. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad for Starter and then had the Chicken & Cashew Nut dish for my main, both from the Early Bird menu, washed down with a nice bottle of white wine. The service was great, especially considering we were quite a large group. I’d definitely highly recommend Ripley’s and the staff were extremely efficient and polite. It can be difficult finding restaurants to accommodate large groups and the spacious surroundings of Ripley’s is perfect for birthdays/hen parties or large gatherings!

Have been here on a few occassions and have always liked the food! Can be a bit pricey especially for the fajitta tower, which is good but lacks sauce and needs more spice! Really enjoy the starter platter and thier deep fried brie is amazing, with the cranberry dip. The highlight of my last visit was defiantly the malteaser brioche pudding-UNBELIEVABLE!!! I find the service consistently good and the staff friendly.

Nice restaurant - quite busy when we were there but still the staff were prompt and friendly. Very vast and varied menu(maybe a bit too varied) and a good kids menu. We had platter starter and steak and prawn fajitas for main course which were very tasty. My only problem with this place were the prices - too expensive for what we got. Overall it was a pleasant dining experience but a bit pricey !!

We went to Ripleys for a birthday dinner with a large group. Ripleys is ideally suited to big groups and is popular for birthday, hen, and stag parties. The decor is a little strange - bamboo in a steak house? Perhaps it was a chinese restaurant at some stage - and it does tend to get quite loud if there are a few different party groups in, so we haven't rated it very highly for ambience. That said, if you were in a big group and if you were the ones making noise then you would probably really enjoy it! The food is a decent standard considering the high turnover and how busy they get, (there was a queue out the door the night that we were there), but the service can be a little brusque.

Had luncg here yesterday. I was in a bit of a rush so i was pleased that the waiter came over and took my order quickly. I had the chicken fajijtas which were delicious. Not too spicy just right. The restaurant is in a good location just off high street. I will visit again. The steaks looked very nice and i will be back for one someday.

The menu looked promising and quite long , as there was a wide range on offer, BBQ Burger, you get two huge burgers, cheese, BBQ sauce, onion rings, chips and salad. It's quite nice too but chips were not fresh cut, I would guess they were frozen . the steaks was good. But on reflection the menu may be too varied . The one thing that would bring me back here was the DIVINE malteser bread and butter pudding, the tastiest dessert ever, and one that was almost tempting enough to order seconds!!!!

I had a very tasty meal here about three weeks ago. For starters I had the caesar salad, for the main course I had the classic cheese burger and for dessert I had the Bramley Apple Crumble. The caesar salad was delicious. The dressing worked well with it. The classic cheese burger was gorgeous and I loved the tomato and onions. (It also came with fries) The apple crumble was absolutely fabulous! I can't pick a best or a worst! Food was amazing. The service was great and with a smile. I will definitely be dining here again!!

Had a nice meal here a couple of weeks ago. Menu is varied enough to keep most people happy. There were 2 Caesar salads, 1 chicken burrito & a soup to start. Mains were 2 steaks, a steak hot pot & a chicken stirfry. All washed down with a couple of bottles of reasonably priced wine. Two of us shared the brioche & malteser pudding & almost came to blows over the last piece! Mmm!!!! There was also a portion of profiteroles which lacked sauce-it was barely drizzled over the plate. But overall it was a pleasant evening which didn't cost the earth.

Went for a set menu which was a great decision! The BBQ food selection was great, I went for wings & ribs which is a decision I certainly stand by! Will certainly be returning next time I am in Kilkenny!

I did enjoy my meal here but for a steakhouse the steak wasn't the greatest. Found the black forest cheesecake a bit too rich, would try a different dessert next time. Starter was the best part of the meal.

I had lunch here yesterday. The place was quite busy for a midweek lunch. The Steak Pie is a nice dish, Warm and hearty on a cold winters day. The service was good and the the price was resonable

I love this restaurant so much. I go there the whole time with my friends or with my family. I go there especially for the same dishes over and over again because they are fantastic. The Deep Fried Brie starter is divine. The Chicken Fajita Tower is amazing. Staff are always friendly and we'r never waiting long for our food. The Malteser dessert is also fab. I've also tried the BBQ Burger, you get two huge burgers, cheese, BBQ sauce, onion rings, chips and salad. It's quite nice too. But my friend and I are big Mexican lovers and nearly always gety the Fajita Tower. You can get this as Vegetarian too and with other meats. It is simply delicious.

The menu looked promising for this menu, as there was a wide range on offer, but both my boyfriend and I were not as satisfied as we had expected. The starters of potato skins were really good, but my boyfriend wasn't too impressed with his spring rolls or the steak he got for main course. The chips served with the steaks were the most disappointing, as they seemed to be the dregs from a bag of frozen chips, which made them all small, hard and even a bit sharp and not enjoyable at all. The one thing that would bring me back here was the DIVINE malteser bread and butter pudding, the tastiest dessert ever, and one that was almost tempting enough to order seconds!!!!

Had a nice meal at Ripley's. Quality of food was generally very good. Service was also good, and the Waiter was very friendly. The decor could be a bit better though, and the view out the window is over Dunne Stores on the other side of the street.

We visited this restaurant on a Thursday night and it was quite busy, even so our order was taken very quickly and when it arrived the food was delicious. The gentleman who waited on our table was very friendly and efficient. Our whole experience was very enjoyable and all four of us said that we would certainly go there again, and would recommend it to our friends. The price was what we expected it would be for this class of restaurand.

Was in for a bit to eat over the weekend after not being here in ages. The food is still top notch and the service is still as good as ever. We had the a la carte menu which is slightly on the expensive side but great quality, some of the best steaks I have ever had! I'll be back in the next few weeks when my brother will be visiting me

This is a great little find down the butterslip lane in Kilkenny. have been here on numerous occasions with both friends and family. I love the chicken fajita towers! The chefs are always consistant here and the food comes out 'the way it was the last time' which is great!!!! desserts are yum-not sure if they still have it on the menu but try the malteser dessert!!! The staff here and friendly and smiley and are happy to help! Only fault i could find are that for being a steakhouse some things are on the pricey side!

Having read other reviews I was looking forward to going. Having went, well... all I can say is that it was "ok". Nothing fantastic. The buffalo wings were *not* buffalo, and very very fatty. The steak was *not* cooked med-rare, it was med-well done (not good for a steakhouse!). The red wine jus, let's just say the red wine was probably "near" to it when it was made, but not likely "used" in it. The sticky toffee pud was microwaved. The prices were a little on the high side. The staff were _lovely lovely lovely_. BUT I was still waiting for a 2nd glass of wine, and had to ask a few times for it (but then it was comp'd, so what odds). I probably wouldn't go again, but if someone dragged me there, I wouldn't complain too hard either. Edible, but nothing great for the prices. The decor was nice, though.

We ate here last night and were pleasantly surprised. It was great value and the service was excellent. The place has a nice atmosphere and although it was not full it had a steady stream of people. We had the rib eye steak which was cooked to perfection and the fries onions and mushrooms on the side were great. Best steak house we have been to in a long time. Good value for the quality and an excellent menu for choice including sea bass, fajita, braised lamb and 6 different cuts of beef.

I had dinner here with a friend 2 weeks ago. its a really lovely restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. there was a hen nigh dining there, a family, friends and some couples and the ambiance suited all. For starters we shared the combo platter which was plenty for 2 but not over filling. I have chicken fajitas for main and my friend had the cod burger. both were divine especially the fajitas. We were not able for dessert but did enjoy a lovely bottle of house white wine (NZ i think) overall a lovely meal will definitely return.

I visited here last week with my family. We had the platter to share for starter which included chicken wings, brie, onion rings and prawns and had two gorgeous dips of garlic mayo and a chilli. For main course most of us had the steak which was cooked to perfection. They had ran out of the wine we ordered the first time but the waitress recommended one that was even nicer than the one we had. The desserts were definatly written for the dessert lover and featured lots of chocolatey and toffee delights but at that stage I had no room left! Really lovely meal.

A lot of people are quite reluctant to visit steak houses, fearing that aside from steak everything else on the menu will be below par. However, on this occasion fears were unfounded. Although I love steak, I opted for the tiger prawn fajitas while my boyfriend chose the rib-eye steak with fries. Both meals were mouth-wateringly good. The steak was cooked to tender perfection with a generous helping of fries. While my fajitas came with a delicious mix of guacamole, sour cream, roasted vegetables, salsa and a sizable portion of tiger prawns. Great food experience all round.

when staying in Kilkenny for a few nights, ate here. T he food was lovely. The service was good and quick and the staff made us feel welcome. The staff checked on us throughout the meal which seems to be a dying trend in Ireland but it made sure that if we had any problems we could get them addressed! Wine list was good. It is definitely a nice place, with plenty of room!
