I came here last Sunday evening with my fiancé and his parents. We had not booked a table but this was not a problem. We were seated immediately and were well looked after during the meal. We decided to not have starters as we were not very hungry. I chose the veal in a mushroom sauce as it is my favourite dish and I was not disappointed. Everyone else chose pizza which they enjoyed. We were reasonable full afterwards to decided to just order two desserts between the four of us. Once I saw that they had chocolate cake I knew that was what I wanted and we were very happy with our choice as it was delicious. It wasn't too heavy but not too light either. We also ordered a bottle of wine, we had hoped to have rose but they were out of stock so we ordered a white wine instead. The only problem was when we went to pay we were charged for both bottles!! Thankfully we realised the mistake before we had left the restaurant. It was a very relaxing evening. Although most tables were occupied it was not very noisy nor did we feel rushed to leave. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Known by locals as the best place for Italian in Kilkenny. Never dissapoints, (apart from when over booked and waiting too long for tables, best to book in advance) Great food, make sure your hungry as portion sizes are quiet large. Great service and run by Italians-true sample of a good Italian restaurant.

was very unimpressed with this restraunt,we were told by many people to go here, but will not be returning.our starters came out straight after we ordered them, and same with mains,as soon as we were finished starters they were out,i ordered the wrong mains and i will say they were nice about changing it,but as there was a very small selection i just had 2 pick pizza,it was very overpriced as well, and it said in the kilkenny report that it had reduced its prices but they clearly havnt.i wont be recommending it to any1,

We went here for an anniversary meal as it was years since we'd been. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and a modern, but its such a shame that the service and food didn't live up to expectations. When we arrived we were seated immediately and handed menus. Twice within 4 minutes we were asked for our order. Once or order were taken it only took 2 more minutes when were served our starters. I had just put down my fork when straight away our plates were taken and the main meal served. The minute our meal was finished the plates were taken away again. The whole experience there was not relaxed and it seemed like they wouldn't let people enjoy there meal and were only interested in getting people out of the restaurant as quickly as possible. I bought a bottle of wine and by the time I was finished my meal there was only 1 glass gone out of it. I took my time drinking the rest no matter how many times they cleaned the empty table beside me while looking at my table. The food was very average I went for a pasta dish with a tomato sauce and was very poor value for money.

Love, love, love the food in this fab restaurant.. Went for lunch on Monday , got the bruschetta to share as a starter and then lasagne.. Bruschetta was to die for.. thin dry garlicky base and the fresh tamatoes on top were bursting with flavour thanks to the basil and olive oil.. The lasagne was another taste sensation.. really meaty and not loaded with cheese.. Have eaten in this restaurant many times and everytime food and service is fantastic.. Especially love the meatballs and pizzas.. Also lovely desserts.. New early bird option is great value.. Best italian in Kilkenny

Was in Kilkenny on Saturday night and decided to try this restaurant. At first glance it seemed very nice and modern. We were seated quickly and waitress took a drinks order. The house white wine was like vinegar so i got a coke too. When we ordered our food i got the brushetta and my partner got the garlic bread. The waitress said that the portions were big and hoped we were hungry. To say BIG was an understatement - the garlic bread and the brushetta were bigger than a pizza which is ridiculous. The brushetta was just chopped tomatoes on a pizza base and for €8/€9 its robbery. The 2 of us were stuffed before the main course even came out. I got the breaded chicken main course and it was tasteless cos it had way to much cheese and he got the veal which was also tasteless. I would never recommend this place as i have eaten in many italian restaurants and this is one of the worst ever. The prices are way too high and they need to rethink their portion sizes or illustrate that the garlic bread/brushetta would do for sharing. The service was good which is the only good thing i have to say.

This was a restaurant that I had been looking forward to dining in and finally booked last Sunday. It was an early evening meal so the restaurant was quite only 10 -12 people so I can't really comment on the atmosphere. I found the service OK but they were been distracted by each other. I had the Parma with melon, which was not fresh, my partner had the Soup. For main course I had the Risotto Alla Pescatore. The rice over cooked and the cream sauce drowned any taste from the sea-food. The Penne Con Pollo and Funghi was better but not by much. Needless to say we did not finish the meal nor stay for dessert. I have no problem paying for good food but this was not good food it was very bland even by the lowest of Italian standards. The price does not reflect the quality of the food. I believe this is the lowest rating I have given and restaurant.

NIce layout, good service and average/good food, but its the price that kills this place. €17.00 for a bowl of pasta is not on. High 20's for a steak! I havent been in a while and would like to eat here again but i wont as the prices are so high for what you get. You cant charge these prices in a restuarant that has plastic laminated menu's.

Came here with my friend and our 2 children for a special birthday dinner! We loved it! The kids had a mixture of garlic bread, pasta & pizza-there were clean plates all round! The staff were very accomodating and great with the children (the goodbye lollipops were a hit!)

A beautiful restaurant, with lovely interior, friendly staff and wonderful Italian food. We had the early bird midweek which is amazing value. I have been here on the weekend and there was no difference between the a la carte and the early bird menu.. and will return again for both

i decided to try this restaurant as it had been recommended to me however i was gravely disappointed, firstly as we were entering the restaurant all the staff were outside smoking, when we booked we asked for our table to be no where near the bar or the door and thats where we were placed even though it was empty towards the back of the restaurant, we then had to ask for our drinks twice after already waiting 15minutes, our waiter was totally unprofessional and at one stage during taking our order he walked away to make a joke with his colleague, when the food finally arrived i was disgusted it was totally bland and completely over priced, this is certainly not a restaurant i would revisit or recommend

really cant get to like this place and have been back on a few occasions (mainly due to lack of alternatives). I consistently feel let down by the quality and value. The prices are soo expensive for what they are giving you. Some of the starters (bruschetta) are priced at 8.50 for gods sake for bread and tomato!

Eat here on a sat night. There were 9 girls. Very disappointing i have to say after hearing it was a great place to go. The service was very poor. No atmosphere in the place. Felt very rushed. Also the menu on the internet is different to the one in the actual restaurant. Very pricey, The one good thing about it was the food. Lovely food but could have been served a bit warmer. Overall quiet disappointed. Pity.

I used to love italian connection but lately think that it is a bit pricey for what you actually get. Don't get me wrong the food is nice but I think its a bit pricey for what it is.

From the time we arrived, the front of house staff treated us superbly, the service was excellent, and most of all the food was very very good, we eat a lot of Italian food, and were taken back by the price we thought it was a little pricy but the portion size and quality certainly put our fears to rest. A lovely dining experience, would highly recommend.

By far my favourite Italian restaurant in Kilkenny. Modest prices for authentic Italian food. Would highly recommend the garlic bread, which is done on a pizza base. Pasta dishes are oozing with flavour and are of a very generous portion size. Only drawback is the close proximty of tables, sometimes it can feel like you are listening to other peoples conversations.but the food more than makes up for this small inconvenience.

I like the pizza here. It can be a bit hit and miss though. Sometimes excellent, sometimes ok. I've had a few work lunches here and they have gone very well. Lasange looked good.

Not anywhere near the top of my list of places to eat in Kilkenny. If you're not into pizza and like other italian foods I wouldnt recommend it.
