Seasonally inspired lunch menu: 2 Course €24.95, 3 Course €29.95. The Saddle Room, a modern steak and seafood restaurant, touches all the senses, the sights and sounds of the open kitchen, the soft touch of leather banquettes and the tastes of the finest steak and seafood. With its dark oak walls and rich splashes of gold, the room has an intimate but lively feel. The Shelbourne Hotel's Executive Chef features the finest in local steak and seafood, modernised to create a contemporary menu tailored to the way we dine today. Get closer to the action in the sleek, spectacular Oyster Bar. Sip the finest vintage Champagnes while our experienced team prepare the freshest oysters available from West Clare, Carlingford, Galway and French Claire. The Saddle Room is a departure from the stuffy atmosphere of hotel restaurants. The casual but sophisticated design, modern menu and savvy service create an atmosphere that is comfortable, cosy, fun and appeals to everyone. Here, memorable nights and perfect get-togethers come naturally.

I visited the Saddle Room for the Early Bird special, which was great value. There was no feeling of being rushed to make the table available for a later sitting. The food was very good, with a good selection from the table d'hote menu. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, without being over-bearing. The one fault I would have is the location of the tables for 2, which are very close together, and the tables are quite wide so I had quite a problem conversing with my dinner companion and had to lean forward all the time. Overall great value for money in a high-class restaurant, but the seating would put me off going again.

The best food I've had in Ireland! The three courses are so well decorated and elegantly served to the table. We all loved the goats cheese as the starter, the halibut was just beautifully done, and the banoffee was brilliant dessert. After three-course meal, we were absolutely stuffed but eager for more. I highly recommend this place, for it's atmosphere, service, and the tasty meals.

For a restaurant and hotel of this standard all I can say is poor, very poor. Food was below average and service to match. Far to expensive for what you get and they seem to be trading on name only now. Shame it was once one of Dublin's top spots.
