On our way home from a weekend in Kilkenny we made a detour to visit this pretty village. We came across the Old Schoolhouse as it was facing the river and it was a warm spring day so we decided to have some lunch. As we only had sandwiches i'm not sure if this qualifies me to write a review. However the sandwiches were fresh, very generous fillings and made to order. I was transported back to Ireland of my childhood and found it so relaxing. The sandwiches were followed by apple tart, cream and coffees. The tart was home made and full of lovely chunks of apple. The coffee was generously served in large mugs.. It is worth stopping here for lunch just for the calmness of the area, the warm welcome from the staff and the feeling of being in Ireland of a few decades ago. Bliss
