I absolutely love Bassetts, its such a beautiful location, its always been a family favourite for a special occasion but I hadn't been in ages. I had the Duck which was beautiful, cooked perfectly and my boyfriend had the monkfish. He said it was probably the best he has ever had. The only drawback is that its a little on the pricey side

Disappointed in the service & attention to detail. The setting is fantastic, we arrived for lunch on a bank holiday Monday, there were about 4 other tables occupied. The chef knew the diners beside us & so was out talking casually to them. At no point did he ask any other diner how were their lunch/day etc, which I thought lost the ethos of local touch. I had 2 starters instead of a main course – both were devine, well executed & full of flavour. My parents asked for salad/chips inside of the rice being served with their seabass. The salad lacked imagination consisting on lettuce & 1 tomato, no dressing, no other veg. The chips were exactly like McDonald chips, I would have expected home made chunky chips. While I know my parents asked for chips separately, chips were on the menu, served with the steak sandwich. The desserts of Dutch apple tart was very tasty but would have been even nicer if served warm rather than cold. I wouldn;t rush back here.

I loved it. The sun was still shining when we arrived so we had a glass of Prosecco on the balcany at the front of the restaurant. The views are amazing. The owner was very friendly throughout and the food was gorgeous.

my partner and i rarely let three weeks pass without a visit to bassetts, either for a relaxing sunday lunch or an intimate saturday night dinner. We find that the food there, though out our visits has maintained an impeckable high standard (personnally i adore the sea bass dish), the atmosphere is warm and staff always pleasant. In addition it's location in the picturesque nore valley is simply breath taking.

I visited Bassetts with my boyfriend one Sunday afternoon and having never been there before i have to admit that i was more than pleasantly surprised. I found the staff to be friendly and approachable, more than willing to run for more water etc. The meal was fab, nicely presented and delicious. I would recommend the quail dish that was on the specials menu and my boyfriend can vouch for this as he was constantly taking food off my plate!! I have no trouble in saying that its one of the nicest places i've visited in a while, really nice staff, clean, and with delicious food! What more could you ask for?????

Went here with my girlfriend. wasnt overly impressed with the service. Apart from waiting for ages for our drinks, even though there was only 8 other people in the place who had alraedy been served, the place wasnt very clean. Only got half a cup of coffee for the price i paid. Not good, bad atmosphere amongst staff and chef.
