Have been here numerous times & only had one bad experience, that was as part of a large party which can sometimes be an issue. The chicken wings are amazing, they are well known as having the best wings around. The salmon dish is also lovely. The staff are very friendly and you are never rushed. Nice place for a relaxing lunch or dinner

I've been here several times. The food is consistently good although a little on the expensive side. I don't eat chicken wings myself but my partner loves them and orders them every time. The restaurant itself is nice but the seating downstairs is a bit cramped.

We enjoyed a lovely meal at Avenue in Maynooth recently. The atmosphere may be casual dining but the quality of the food is certainly fine dining. Recommend this restaurant a lot

Went here with my hubby last week. The restaurant was quite busy for midweek and there was a good atmosphere. There were no deals on, which I was surprised by. We shared the tortilla chips to start, which were awful. The yellow melted thing poured on them was certainly no relation to cheese, the guacamole was awful too. Anyway, himself ate them because he was starving. We had the surf and turf, which was rib eye steak, we both had it and asked for it done medium. It was very rare, but still we ate it and it was delicious. This came with chunky chips which were not really nice, more like potatoes cut in half and deep fried, and a few rings of calamari and some prawns which were very tasty. Steak was delicious, but i would have liked some veg on the side. I had brownie for dessert and it wasn't nice, like something shop bought. Himself had creme brulee and there was a funny aftertaste off it. I would not be in a hurry to return even though friends had recommended this place.

We had a group booking of 20 people on a Saturday night in the Avenue and while the food was good, the service was not great. The table wasn't ready when we arrived and we were left standing waiting in the crowded hallway for over 20 minutes. The service was slow and half of the group were served first and had finished main courses before the other half of the table even received theirs. We were there for a birthday and the staff forgot to bring out the birthday cake after dessert and we had to eventually ask for them to bring it out. The food was good in general, with a good selection to choose from on the set menu. All starters and desserts were very good. The rib eye steaks had a good flavour but were a bit too grizzly. Prices were reasonable.

Four of us went without reservation - we were given a table upstairs - no problem. welcome by staff supberb, one had starter twice cooked pork with prawns beautifully presented and taste supberb Two had fish pie, one had shank of lamb and one had chicken. No fault here lamb beautifully presented fell off the bone and melted in the mouth. Girls said their fish pie was "To Die for" Chicken dish faultless also. The three girls shared a sticky toffee pudding which they throughly enjoyed - definetly a restaurant to recommend and visit again - well done to all concerned

I have visited this restaurant on numerous occasions (probably around 10-12 times) so thought that I'd submit a review. Firstly, book your table as this place is always busy and can be difficult to just walk in and expect a table. Myself and my friends like to meet here on a Tuesday evening and eat from the "Ladies Menu" It offers good value for money and you get a free glass of vino. The standard evening menu is also very nice so I sometimes order from that one even though it works out more expensive. My favourite starters have been the deep fried brie and the spinach salad. Both very tasty and generously sized. I've also had their risotto, lovely but very filling. Their fish pie is amazing, piping hot and very tasty, this is probably my favourite dish. I have also had their veggi burger, nice but slightly on the dry side I thought. Their merigune mess is to die for. Its just an Eton mess but is light and very tasty. In relation to the restaurant, I've sat both upstairs and downstairs. If you are going as a couple or a very small group downstairs in generally quieter and hence it's easier to talk. Upstairs can be noisy as its usually full of large groups. The decor is basic enough but warm and modern. Staff are attentive and friendly and I will definitely return.

Nice restaurant will excellent waiters. The restaurant was quite busy which is a good sign these times. Meals are nicely priced without being too expensive. Food ok however all the main courses (there were 4 of us) Duck in particular just lacked something and tasted bland. Food was very filling. Atmosphere was very good.

I have visited the Avenue for lunch before and found it satisfactory to dull and over priced and just gave up. But we went here for a meal of a weekend, I had fillet steak which I expected to be very special at just shy of €30, it unfortunately was not special at all, over cooked, too much sinew and generally a real battle to cut, very disappointing. My wife had the sea bass which was pleasant but unremarkable at €24.50. I think the operators of this place need to question themselves with prices like that, food of average quality, service 'casual' at best this is not a place that I would go back to again, too many chances given when there are other alternatives in the town with great fillets at €23. I don't mind paying for quality but the compass is well off here.

We were staying in Carton House for the weekend and decided to head out to Maynooth at the last minute. We were very lucky to get a table in the Avenue, it was literally packed to the rafters. We availed of the early bird and had a great meal. Service was good at the start but as it got busier it became more difficult to get attention of the waiting staff. The food was really good though but the portions are absolutely huge. I left half my main course as I literally couldn't finish it ( and I wanted to leave some room for dessert). If you are in the area you definitely should check out the Avenue.

I occasionally end up in Maynooth with work. I've eaten lunch a couple of times here over the summer. The lunch time special of soup, sandwich and beverage is value for money. Food is of a good quality, staff are on the ball and the overall atmosphere is pleasant. I have no hestitations about returning.

Avenue is an amazing place to go to, nice selection of beer and wine accompanied by an interesting and varied menu, I've never had a bad meal there, service is always excellent my last trip lived up to that, we just got burgers and chips but they were great. This place is top class food at realistic prices. An example of what we should get when paying for a meal out.

Great find, handy location, very nice atmosphere, very friendly and efficient staff, baby friendly. Great offers, we found the lunch special deal of €10 for soup, panini or wrap of your choice and tea or coffee an excellent deal. Sometimes with deals the size or quality is comprimised but not in this case, excellent size, quality and well presented. Service extremely fast, ate there outside under the terrace which was lovely and relaxing with my baby son and husband and baby was catered for well and good children's menu. Handy for a drop in after a lovely walk in Carton which is just across the way or for a more formal evening so suits all needs, although we were in our walking clothes we didnt feel out of place sitting outside and chilling in the sunshine and enjoying a good filling lunch.

have been here a few times and liked the atmosphere.staff are good but it seems some are much better than others. the chicken wings for starter are fantastic. i had seabass for main course which was lovely but lacked seasoning. after having two unimpressive desserts on previous visits i didnt order one this time. overall a pleasant experience but lacking the small touches. great value for burgers but not for finer dining

we went out to Avenue to avail of the early bird special. we have had it before and its great value. the staff are attentive without being intrusive and the food is as always delicious. Even on a Tuesday nite they fill up and that's a great testament to a great restaurant giving their customers value for money.

Went to the Avenue on a Monday evening at around 5.30pm, there was a few tables in the restaurant when we went in so a nice atmosphere was brewing. Had a look at the early bird menu but realised that the a la carte menu had alot more dishes on it that we liked. Service was good, if I was to be very picky we were never checked on when we were eating our main courses, my fish pie was lukewarm and would have liked it to be heated a bit more but i should have asked. The fish pie is HUGE and good value for money, alot of potato though, Overall the appearance of this restaurant is clean and modern and has a nice feel about it. Keep up the good work..

I hadnt been to the Avenue restaurant for a long time so decided to give it a try again last Friday evening and was very impressed. We went for the early bird menu, starter and main for 18 euro and talk about good value. I had the fish cakes to start and my partner had the caeser salad, for mains we had the shank of lamb and a burger, all of the dishes were gorgeous with very good portion sizes. Excellent value, great atmosphere and lovely staff, what more could you ask for, well done The Avenue, keep up the good work.

Lovely little restaurant in Maynooth. I went here for lunch on a Saturday and was very impressed with the quality of the food. The panini was absolutely delicious and they weren’t skimpy on the fillings. You could taste the freshness of all the ingredients used. It was really nice to finally see somewhere that puts an effort into their side salad- which was plentiful and came with a nice French dressing. I’d definitely like to return to see what their dinner menu is like.

We were in Maynooth for a function and decided to stop into Avenue for a bite to eat before it. Now I haven't always had the best experiences in Avenue but my partner loves their chicken wings and who am I to stand between a man and his wings? So we arrived on a very busy Friday evening without a booking and were accomodated with a lovely table upstairs. Staff were really friendly and attentive. We ordered from the early bird menu and to start we both had the deep fried brie with cranberry relish. The cheese was lovely but the relish didn't do a whole pile for me. Portion was gigantic though! For mains he had the fish and chips and I had bangers and mash. Again massive portions, I couldn't finish. Fish was done well, bangers could have done with a little more delicious jus as there was just so much food on the plate! All of this with a glass of house white and a beer came to €52 which I thought was decent enough value. I have to say that having only dined in Avenue for lunch in the past this dinner service was completely different. It seemed much more professional and we were very happy with our meal. I have been converted and will come for dinner again.

There is a bistro atmosphere and service is good. The food was good, though I was a little disappointed as I expect the food to be much better due to other reviews. Some of the items were a bit bland. Service was good. We sat downstairs and had I know there was an upstairs I would have preferred to sit upstairs. Overall a good choice for a restaurant in Maynooth.

I ate here with a group of 10+ recently. Eventhough we were booked for a time after the end of the early-bird menu time, the restaurant agreed to allow us chose our food from the early-bird menu sicne there was a large group of us. We found this nice of them. The early-bird menu offers a good selection of options and all for a reasonable price. I opted for starter (bruschetta) and mains (carbonarra) for €18. Both were very tasty, thought the carbonarra was very filling and the bacon strips were a bit too fatty for my liking. Several of te rest of my party selected the 6 horu braised lamb and said it was delicious..plenty of meat on it and so tender. I will definitely be ordered this next time! Overall, service was good, prompt and friendly. While I think the main evenign menu here is a bit expensive, I think the early-bird is a great option and will probably only return here for the early-bird menu! On a side note, we were sitting upstairs and we found this a little bit cramped plus it was very stuffy, maybe a slightly opened window or air conditioning could be used when the space is busy!

The avenue is one of Maynooth's little gems. I pulled in here one day I was feeling quite lazy, and just did not want to cook!! We got a table without a reservation, and went for the early bird menu. I went for a salmon main course, and it was delicious. I have since been back, and sampled their seafood chowder, which was served in a ceramic pot with a lid, and a lovely side of brown bread. The coffee here is also very nice. The service is excellent, and all the staff are very friendly, and pleasant. All in all a marvelof a restaurant. There is also a good sized upstairs, which looks ideal for a private get together. I will be back!!

I went for a meal here last night with a few friends. I never even heard of the place before. It was full on a Tuesday night and I am not surprised. We had a lovely meal. The service was excellent and our waiter was very friendly. Drink including a glass of wine is more expensive than most places but the bottle of wine is good value. I will definately be back.

I really enjoyed my last visit to this restaurant. I went on a Monday night with a couple of friends and was surprised at how busy it was (for a Monday night). The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. The food was delicious as always. We all shared a starter of chicken wings..there was plenty to go around. For my main course I enjoyed one of their burgers. Delicious food and reasonable prices.

Have been here a couple of times, always good atmosphere and is generally buzzing. Food always good quality, but I feel (for my tastes anyway), the menu is quite limited if you are not into burgers or red meat. In saying that. Service always excellent. Prices are not too bad, although agree with a previous post that a glass of wine is quite expensive.

On entering this place it immediately had a good atomosphere. We were quickly attended to and the service throughout the evening was efficeint and attentive. Started with the basket of chicken wings to share. Absolutley delish. Then I had Burger which was great too and the wife had the fish which was also super. Stuffed after all of this and a couple of glasses of the house wine the bill came to just over €50. Well worth it. Recommended.

We had no reservation on sat evening so we were lucky to get a table. The place was buzzing. The staff were very friendly but rushed off their feet. The food isn't cheap here, but they do do early bird deals which would bring the cost down considerably. The other half had the chicken wings which I'd recommended and he wasn't disappointed...they are pricey though at €12.95 for a basket. We also shared the warm breads with dips. Word of warning, the olive oil is v mild as it's not extra virgin, the balsamic is a thick syrupy glaze. The breads were served hot rather than warm which kinda took away from their flavour. Our mains though were fabulous. I had the fish stew, one word, amazing! He had the lamb shank which was perfectly cook & falling off the bone. It was amazing too. The wine is quite expensive. €7 for a small glass of Pinot Grigio - but it was a lovely wine. We will be back.....for an early bird.

We return to this restaurant time and time again and have never been disappointed. It's not the cheapest place to eat but you get what you pay for here in relation to the food and the service. We went here for Sunday lunch and had the nachos starter to share which was fantastic. I had the Calamari noodle salad for main, which I have had before and is lovely and my partner had the bacon and cheddar cheese burger which was also a hit. The burgers are good quality. Presentation of the food is always great and the service is second to none. We will definitely be returning very soon.

Had a lovely lunch here recently. We were seated + served quickly (which is what you need on a lunch break). Lunch specials are really good value - I had a yummy wrap with stir-fried veg in a sweet chilli sauce (gorgeous) and a good serving of tasty soup. My friend had an omelette with goat's cheese and said it was lovely. The coffee was on the bitter side, but lunch for a tenner was hard to beat. Great for lunch - will be back!

Had early bird menu and ate outside - lovely evening, lovely food and service excellent. It is hard to beat the avenue if you want a really nice, good quality meal in Maynooth. Highly recommend. I had bruschetta and pasta, my friends had fish cake, pasta and my husband had the special which was surf and turf. All delicious. As our table wasnt ready when we arrived they gave us a glass of pink champagne which was a lovely touch.

Having read the reviews on this restaurant I've been meaning to try it for a while. We arrived in time for the early bird and the restaurant was already busy with a few tables free.We were seated at a table for two between two other couples.Unfortunately the tables are so close together that it is not a place I would recommend for an intimate dinner. The early bird menu offers a good choice and my husband had bruschetta to start, which was very nice while I had the salmon fishcake with a minty raita. The fishcake was very bland and had very little flavour and I didn't think the cucumber ribbons were a good compliment. We both ordered a burger for our main and were disappointed with the lack of flavour despite the toppings of mozzarella and pesto. The dessert was probably the success of the evening with delicious sticky toffee pudding & chocolate profiteroles. While the service and the desserts were excellent it's not enough to make me return to this restaurant.

Really nice! Nice atmosphere, good food & service. Busy enough but well worth the trip. Brie Salad with pumpkin seeds is beautiful and the duck with noodles was lovely too. Really enjoyed it. Will be back!

Absolutly fantastic, I had been hearing from people that this place was worth the trip and I wasn't disappointed. We were a table of four, we shared some wings and nachos, and I followed them with hereford steak, cooked to perfection. Nice wine list and the sticky toffee pudding is simply amazing. I really enjoyed this place, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere is great.

I have had Lunch here on two occasions recently and have to say was I pleasantly surprised. There is a huge amount of choice on the a la carte menu & their lunch Menu gives you the option of a Starter & Main or a Main & Dessert for €20 incl Tea or Coffee. Like one on the other reviews mentioned their burger was not available on the Lunch Menu but as I didn't care for tea or coffee it worked out cheaper to go with the a la carte menu for my Starter & Main. The decor is lovely and most of the staff are very friendly so we will be back.

The menu is fairly limited and needs to be changed more often. Limited choice for non-meat eaters. Otherwise good atmosphere and staff are friendly. Very expensive for Maynooth though.

The early bird is terrific value but the late menu is still expensive. City centre prices in Maynooth. Fabulous bread basket to start. Portions are good size and I agree the gourmet burgers are lovely. Didn't manage desert but my partner's was the biz.

If you like gourmet burgers, you will like the Avenue - a nice bistro on the Main Street. Athmosphere is good and staff are very friendly, but service tends to be a bit slow (based on my three visits). Food is well cooked and presented and represents reasonable value

Ate here unexpectedly this evening for late lunch/dinner.There was 3 of us to start and we were later joined by a 4th person!while we were waiting for our 4th we ordered the selection of breads....my god they were gorgous, 9 slices of 3 types of bread,3 dips (aged balsamic, pesto & an excellent quality olive oil) perfect for the 3 of us! we then ordered chowder for myself, the chicken burger, veggie burger and the burger with red onion marmalade, also ordered a slide of coleslaw and some salad for the veggie burger. Food arrived and we all dug in, everything was delicious and quite obviously homemade, the waiter brought a salad bowl and we sent it back as we only wanted a small ammount of salad on the burger itself, he then told us we could keep it and that we wouldnt be charged as it was his mistake!!!All the burgers come with yummy home made fries too!!all our food was gorgoues, the chowder was amazing, heaps of really fresh fish and not too creamy! 3 of us shared dessert the meringue mess, which was also fab and we all got coffees, teas etc. the bill came to just over €81 which was excellent value considering the drinks alone were around €18 (also 2 soft drinks in there)food was replenished frequently and the waiter was never far away.Im really impressed with the place and i am planning a return visit as soon as i can manage! also worth noting the early bird menu which has alot of the a la carte menu items on it! well done guys and thanks again!

Really love this restaurant. Food is really lovely and the wine list too is really good. They always have a wine on special and the saff are really friendly. The wings are to die for...I would eat here quite alot and on one occasion I ordered the beef burger, it was a bit pink for my liking and when I said it to the waitress she advised that that is how it's served. Im no chef but i do think im correct in thinking that any type of mince should be fully cooked and not at all pink. I just wont order the dish again but it wouldnt stop me from eating there. i just love it..

Went for a meal to celebrate my birthday with my girlfriend. Had a very good night. Atmosphere was terrific and we really enjoyed the food althoug the soup was only average but chicken for the main was great. Service was ok although their attention was taken by big groups of people at other tables but was really good. All in all a very good restaurant and we will certainly be back.

Great value lunch menu, good service and nice atmosphere. Had an omelette there though, which, however decent, was not worth the 9 euro... it's never any harm to throw a bit of taste in to a dish every now and again.

I've been here lots of times for lunch and have found the place to be very pleasant. The lunch deal is very good value as you get a decent sized sandwich with the soup and sandwich combo. Atmosphere is lovely and the staff are very efficient. Have to check out the evening menu next

Went here for a relaxed mid week bite after work. Nice surroundings with a pleasant atmosphere. Service was fairly efficient and with a smile most of the time. I had a chicken sandwich and he had the chicken wings as a main. The portions are very generous and you certainly won't be leaving hungry! Everything was very tasty and nicely presented and overall, thoroughly enjoyed it. Arrived too late to avail of the early bird offer but would say it's very good value for money with the quality of food on offer. Will definitely be going back in the relatively near future!

A party of 4 went for the early bird option as we thought it was quite reasonable for 23 Euro. The food was very good and plenty to eat. The only thing i can fault was the service, We arrived for the early bird at 6.30 (orders are to be in before 6.45), but weren't given the early bird menu, we had to request it. Also at the end of our meal we felt that we were been rushed even tho there was plenty of free tables. Bill arriving at the table when we didnt ask for it, the waiter back to collect the bill but we still hadnt even looked at it etc. Overall a pleasant experience.

I absolutely love this place. I can be a bit of a fussy eater, but at Avenue they'll tailor their menu wherever possible, which has even lead to me being a little bit more adventurous with my food. I'd recommend it to anyone (Sticky Toffee Pudding is to die for). And Mon-Sat with the Early Bird is excellent value for money!

We popped in for lunch when passing through Maynooth. We both opted for the lunch special any wrap/panini with soup and a coffee for a tenner. The leek and potato soup was very tasty and the wrap nice and fresh. It was a lot of food for the price and I couldn't finish the soup, The service was friendly and quick. The evening menu looked pricey but if the quality of the food we had a lunch was anything to go by it would be worth checking it out.

We had dinner at Avenue one Sunday evening. This is a very nice restaurant. The chicken wings were very good. The bangers in the bangers & mash were a little bland and seemed to have a low meat content. Burgers were good and substantial. Overall a pleasant dining experience.

I took my family to this trendy little cafe/restaraunt on Saturday. I have been a couple of times and always enjoyed my experience. I had the steamed mussels to start, which were very tasty followed by the pesto burger with fries. The burger was nice but i found it hard to eat because the bun just crumbled when i tried to pick it up. The fries were also good...thin cut and really crispy!! Everyone enjoyed their meal. I will just say one thing, the sausages could have had more meat and less bread in them!! Oh and if you are ordering the chicken wings which are good, one portion will do two people as a starter!!

Two other friends and I try to get to the Avenue as often as possible for lunch and it is better each time we go. The staff are attentive without imposing giving great service every time. They are friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic - the portions are large which is only a problem if you are like me and can't stop eating good food just because you're full. This is THE place to eat in Maynooth but having said that two out of the three of us travel to get there and there are never any complaints

I eat in avenue with a group of 25 last saturday night. Its always hard to please everyone when your out with a group, but these was perfect, everyone couldn't stop taking about the place for days. The food was sublime the services was impeccable and the price was reasanable. We need more restaurants like this around. A new and loyal customer!

I have eaten here a few times, both for lunch and dinner and every time it has been very enjoyable. The only fault I have is that the portions are a bit big and the food can be very rich. Also It would be nice to see a bit more of a varied menu with lighter options. The deserts are really lovely. Service is very friendly. They do an early bird too which is nice because not many restaurants in Maynooth are doing deals. Lunch is lovely and great value too! Definitely worth a visit!

We enjoyed a great meal in Avenue last weekend. We were staying in locally and we recommended Avenue for dinner as they were full. I would normally not write reviews but this was sooo good! We shared a basket of chicken wing to start - gorgeous! I have the fillet Steak which was the best steak I’ve had for a long time, my wife had the fish stew which was equally perfect. We both shared the sticky toffee for dessert. Great value, great meal, great staff and a lovely place to eat.

I went here for dinner on a Friday night and luckily was seated against the wall upstairs unlike alot of others who were seated far to close to the next table and I know I wouldn't have liked to be seated there. The portions of food are very large but the quality isn't great. I would say it's more like pub grub trying to be posh. If I was to visit again I'd just order a burger as it's simple and hard to make it tastless.

Have visited this place twice now and still unsure on what to make of it. The first time I went the service was incredibly slow, in fact we were waiting for 45 minutes for our burgers even though the place was empty. When they eventually arrived they were great, however the long wait had spoiled the experience somewhat. On our second visit we were seated right beside another group even though the rest of the place was empty. Food arrived a bit quicker this time, however the chicken main course was quite bland. It's a bit pricey to have this inconsistency with food. Not sure whether I will return or not.

We decided at short enough notice to try this place out. It was a Friday so we were happy to be able to get a table. The restaurant is very nice, spilt over 2 floors with an open kitchen for the downstairs diners to enjoy. They had special offers on some of their wines, which was nice. The food was good, our mains were lamb & the sirlion. The creme brulee was good for dessert but the lemon tart wasn't the best, but didn't take away too much.

after reading some of the reviews on menu pages for Avenue, I have to try it out. And god was I HAPPY I did. The chicken wing were to die for. The Burgers were hugh and the stick toffee was perfection on a plate. We like it so much that we went back on Sunday for more with friends and it was class. We'll be back again and again.

three of us ate here on a cold rainy saturday afternoon, we were all hungry,so our starters of homemade mushroom soup and chowder were very welcome, these starters were fantastic, with homemade warm brown bread. Our main courses were equally delicious, the pork belly was served with a hearty helping of champ and everything arrived hot to our table. while the fish and chips and sirloin steak both got the thumbs up. we couldn't' fault any of the food, service was good without being over friendly, finally the coffee was hot and tasty, so all in all it was a great gastronomic experience. will definetely be back for more

I have eaten here a few times in last few months and each time it has been enjoyable. The food is good (I especially enjoyed a lovely cranberry and nut salad starter) and the service is friendly. It can seem a bit dull without atmosphere on quieter nights but I guess most restaurants do. Overall I would recommend it.

Went here for a family dinner and can't say enough good things about the place. The restaurant itself is decorated simply yet stylishly, and there is a great atmosphere from the moment you walk in the door. There is something for everyone on the menu. We all shared a delicious basket of chicken wings to start, along with some nachos...there was nothing left on the plates by the end, and we were all hungry for more. For main, I had the polenta cakes...they were so tasty, and came with baked aubergine and peppers. Others at the table had lamb, steak and a duck stir fry.. all looked fabulous, and the portions were very generous. I can't really say a bad word about this place, and will definitely be back for more!!

My boyfriend and I ate here in Friday night. It was busy with a great atmosphere. We had the selection of bread and the goats cheese for starters, then the veggie burger and duck for mains. The food really lovely from start to finish. A few gripes with the service-although the staff were friendly, our waitress did not mention any specials to us, but the waiter serving the table next to us listed out several to his customers, I was given no options of sides to go with my burger (I would have liked salad but it came out with fries), they also charged €20 worth of drinks to our bill that we didn't have! Overall we had a good experience, would recommend the restaurant, and would return.

Ate here with a group late November and returned as a couple on Tuesday. Was really impressed on both occassions. Food was excellent, service very good as was value for money. With the group of 6 everyone was very happy with their food and all had something different. Great variety on the menu, the atmosphere is very cosmopolitian which is hard to find in the area. On Tuesday we had starters, mains, one dessert, 2 glasses of very nice wine and Americanos to finish. All for €70. Will be going back over Christmas and highly reccommend.

Had dinner here yesterday & really enjoyed it! Started with the mushrooms, followed by chicken & my partner had fish cakes followed by lamb shank & we shared a dessert - choc pot & carafe of wine. Total came to approx €80. Have to say everything was really tasty although the dessert was bit too heavy but otherwise lovely meal & will definately be back!

One of the best meals i have ever had. atmosphere and music was great. The chowder was filled with tender fish and mussells and seasoned to perfection. I thought the sirloin was overpriced but the quality of the beef soon changed my mind.Great selection of wines and the special malbec was unbelievable. The staff were so polite and couldn't do enough for you. I will definately be back.

I been going to Avenue for a year now and I enjoy every visit, but last week had to be the best yet. The wine list large and reasonable priced, The food it top notch. I have the Sirloin with the best peppered sauce I have ever had. Desserts are amazing. Try the sticky toffee. Its the best priced eatery around. Will keep going back again and again.

I have eaten in Avenue many times and when I leave I am always of the opinion it was just ok, but due to lack of restaurants in the Leixlip,Maynooth area I keep returning. As usual the chicken wings were devine. It outweighs the fact that I think they are slightly over priced. The guys here brought the elephant and castle to Maynooth. You can always rely on good chips here also. Service was very slow and the waiter was a little bit unpleasant..or maybe it was just the lack of english he did not want to make any reccommedations from the menu when I asked him was the soup of the day good he said I will ask chef, and this was pretty much how the conversation regarding my choice of dish went. The tomato and Basil soup that was on the lunch menu was very bland. The athmosphere in the restaurant is always quite nice. Over all I would say it is a nice place for lunch it is not somewhere that I would like to go for dinner. I will definetly be back but it is honestly the wings that I continue to back to Avenue for.

This place is a little gem of a restaurant in Maynooth. Read the good reviews on this website and decided to give it a try last Saturday and was not disappointed. The place is lovely, the food is delicious and the staff are very friendly, overall had a lovely night. Maynooth hasnt got great restaurants so it was a pleasure to find a nice spot, will be definitely be back.

I just had to update my review after a friend and i tried some new additions to the menu. For the mains, I tried the spanish omelette and my friend had the rissotto, both were great, the omelette was light and fluffy and full of flavour and the rissotto was devine. The service was great as usual though a little bit slow only because they were busy. After i had the apple and raison crumble which was heated to perfection and so tasty, perfect for winter! My friend had the tiramisu which isnt new but she loves it. At this stage i've had practically everything on the menu and iv never been disappointed. i still beleieve if ur eating out in maynooth, this is where you should be!

I decided to give this one more chance (can't say I haven't tried. And to be honest, the chicken wings again were good, even if they could be a bit meatier. Anyhow, everything else...Burger was horribly dry, served with a few leaves of lettuce under the bun, NO sauce whatsoever (and no hint of seasoning on the burger). Chips ok, but no other garnish on the plate. Unexciting, bland, and the meat just badly cooked. If you're going to do one, do it right, and ask how you want it done. Companion had salmon, which was also plain, unseasoned, and pretty tasteless. The vegetables with it were also not great. Atmosphere - screaming kids in the evening, and the worst chart drivel as canned music? There's no point in having art, stylish looking restaurant but then muck it up by playing music that would be more suitable for a McDonald's kids' party. My last visit I promise.

It was our first time to try this restaurant, although we had been meaning to for a while. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was superb. There was a special menu for Sunday evening. I had the risotto with Chicken which was lovely while my partner had Duck with noodles. The food was lovely is a little on the pricey side. However, we noticed that when customers came in the door, it took time for them to be noticed by the wait staff. As a result one party of three walked out. The place was not too busy at this time with only one wait staff tied up with another customer. Overall, a good experience and I will go back to sample their lunch menu.

This was probably the best meal I had in Maynooth. The decor is contemporary and very pleasant. The food was excellent - I had the chicken main course - very good. The place was empty and I wondered if it was a little expensive - 100 euro for meal for 2 only had 2 glasses of wine.

Was very disappointed after reading other reviews. On a good note the chicken wings were delish and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for. The main courses however were a major let down. The lettuce in the ceasar salad was warm and soggy and although mentioned to the wait staff I was duly ignored. My boyfriend had a burger which was only ok while the chips were def not home made!

This is the tastiest eatery in Maynooth by far!! the decor, ambience, service and pricing is always just right. But the food will leave you (very) satisfied with ample portions and the right blend of seasoning and choice of ingredients. The particular favourites of our group were the chicken wings and the mussels. The burgers were generous and acompanied by the best home fried chips we'd tasted. Fantastic!! A definate go-againer.

Just tried this Restaurant and was very impressed we had passed often but thought there were only a few seats downstairs but when i was making a booking was informed there was seating upstairs as well. we were seated up stairs in a quiet corner and read the specials by the manager. Our drinks were delivered punctually and order may have been taken a little fast. The atmosphere was electric as there was a party in and they were having a ball. Starters arrived chicken wings and mussels were fantastic but the portion was huge. Mussels were great, fresh and classically presented. Main courses arrived fast. Steak perfectly cooked rare, chicken with a wide combination of flavours. We skipped dessert and had two cappuccinos which were hot and frothy. This is a great restaurant and is well needed in the area. Will be back.

Its the best place to eat out in Maynooth, its lovely inside, the food is not only delicious but reasonably priced. I think their chicken wings are really great value and are some of the best I’ve ever had. I've eaten her quiet a few times with my boyfriend and friends and I’m always happy with the quality of the food. They used to do a black pudding salad which I loved but they still do a great salmon dish and there desserts are great. I brought my friend here for her birthday just for coffees and cake and it was mouth watering! You can't go wrong with there sticky toffee pudding.
