Not a good change in my opinion. We decided to stay because we did not want to move our entire group again.

The service we received was far from good, they were only talking to each other in the corner. We had to go up and ask for the desert menu ourselves!

Place used to be great, now I will not come back!

River Bank Restaurant @ The Court Yard Hotel 5.0 star review: Myself and a part of four others popped in on spec to this lovely restaurant on Friday for lunch. Although we missed the traditional time for carvery lunch (we didn't arrive until just after 2pm), we were able to partake of a wonderful lunch.
Plenty of beef was piled onto the plate and accompanied by lovely fresh vegetables (not overcooked) and cruncy roast potatoes with good wholesome gravy!
No shortage of food so if you're hungry (and at about €10 for great quality food), this the place to go.
The only negative was that is was a little lacking in atmosphere there were very few people about (but then, it was just after 2pm!).

River Bank Restaurant @ The Court Yard Hotel 4.5 star review: We ate in the Riverbank last night as part of a deal and I was expecting a more limited menu but was pleasantly surprised at the variety however there was no real fish main course just seafood (scallops) or a fish pie which I would order if I was only to have one course but would be way too much with two other courses. Service was great at the start but then they took ages to give us our bill and again our change although it was a busy night so that can be excused. Food was fine, nothing amazing but not to be faulted apart from my scallops were slightly boring. Side veg was lovely which was a surprise as most places it's not great! I had chicken caesar salad to start which was lovely, chicken slightly dry but tasty none the less, he has haddock to start which was tiny considering there was a supplement on the menu, he had steak as a main which he said was lovely and we both had rhubarb and apple crumble for dessert which was my favourite part, lovely topping and really tasty. Overall good just items on the menu were not to my taste I suppose. Would recommend to a friend although I wish they would have turned the lights down, it was very bright all over in the restaurant. Candles or low lighting would have made an already lovely dining room much more intimate for an evening meal.

River Bank Restaurant @ The Court Yard Hotel 4.0 star review: Went here with my partner we had the special menu 3 course for 2 for 50 euros.We have been here for a few times and It is a romantic place to sit in , but we were disappointed this time, they had no candles and the lights were very bright. Our starters were ok, very disappointed with our main courses. I had duck which was very dry and my wife had chicken , which was tasteless. no sauce and plate was filled with hard beans. We wont be returning.

A special mention to Christina on the front desk and Tracey in the restaurant. They are very customer oriented and friendly. Food (duck) was excellent. We will be back again.

River Bank Restaurant @ The Court Yard Hotel 5.0 star review: I went here last month and availed of the early bird special (25 per head + bottle of included).

I was impressed by everything about the place. The restuarant is nicely decorated and there are nice views of the riverbank on one side. The staff were very attentive and friendly, there was a good choice on the menu.

To start we had soup of the day, then I had the duck in plum sauce and my wife had the steak (5 eur supplement).

The food was absolutely delicious.
We got a side of veg and baby potatoes (included in price).

For the dessery we got the white & dark chocolate mousse.

That was delicious too.

I would definitely go back and would highly recommend this restaurant.

They genuinely deserve the 5/5 rating I gave them.

Slight mix up with the orders and slow service last week, must be due to the fact that it was very busy. Would definitely reccomment it and go back soon!

River Bank Restaurant @ The Court Yard Hotel 4.0 star review: Ate at the riverbank last sunday and was pleasently supprised, I had been recommended by my sister in law who goes to the thursday ladies night. I had the Sunday set lunch menu which was great value, I had the risotto which was very well presented and delicious, and my partner had the chump of Lamb which he informed me was also really tasty! Starters and deserts also fantastic, especially the toffee pudding! good staff, nice atmosphere, and great value, will be back for sure.

River Bank Restaurant @ The Court Yard Hotel 5.0 star review: dined here this evening. had the early bird menu.had chicken caeser salad for starter,and hake for the main course. both lovely and well presented.pavlova for desert was disappointing.to me it was a meringue with ice cream and cream,that is not pavlova!overall 2 three course meals with tea and coffee included and a bottle of wine for 50e is fantastic value and i would thoroughly recommend it.
