Having been meaning to make a booking in Annamars following a recommendation by a foodie friend, I eventually got around to it last saturday. I was absolutely delighted to find there is a restaurant of this calibre in the Kildare town area. The atmosphere was lovely; relaxed and warm, the wine menu was unpretentious and suitably priced to the match the economic climate, and the food was simply divine. The range of choice was wide to suit the more adventurous and the more conservative diner. (Game, Fish, Steak, vegatarian) While my husband and I missed out the early bird menu on this occasion, which is remarkable value at 20 Euros pp. the four courses which we enjoyed for 32.95 was still very good value. Side orders were extra but the veg was crisp and perfectly cooked, and so the additioal cost was reasonable. I will definitely be returning to Annamars in the near future and recommend this restaurant to anyone who has an appreciation for quality french cuisine at a very reasonable price.

Hi myself and my husband where in Annamars Restaurant last sat night as we have been before and where delighted with the service and the food we decided to go again and where pleasantly surprised when the waitress showed us the early bird menu it had a very good choice of foods on it and was very resonable in price it was 20 euro each with extra for veg and let me tell you that this is fantastic value for what you are getting a beautiful french menu cooked fresh as you ordered with as i found out by an award winning chef the atmosphere in the restaurant was beautifully relaxed and you would think that you where in a liitle town in france i had a salmon fish cake for starters and my husband had mushroom soup for our mains i had venison sausauge on a bed of lentils and my husband had meatballs in a beautiful tomatoe sauce for desert i han the rhubarb pavalova and my husband had fruit plate we where both very happy with our choices and the way they where cooked and presented i would advise anybody who knows how expencive too eat out to defy this value it was beautiful and well worth the money we will be back thank you Annamars for a lovely evening

Visited Here on a Friday night with a birthday party was much looking forward to it as id heard alot about the quality of the food, as people who know fine french cuisine its more about quality rather than quantity, so i was expecting the smaller portions. we didnt opt for the set menu because there was only a 3 euro saving on a potential bill of 70 if opting for the set menu, since all the starters were the same price at 9euro, as were all the mains at 22euro. a certain few things annoyed me, it took 25 mins for our starter, and a further 30 mins for our main i ordered the venison and was not asked how i would like it cooked, it came out medium, i would have prefered rare, or at least been asked. this is very old school for 'the chef serves it how he thinks it should be cooked' we were asked would we like potatoes & veg but we werent told the were an additional extra on the bill. they were busy and the lone waitress was run off her feet. the co-owner was running around after her table of friends and not even looking to see were the waitress or custumers ok, since we waited so long and the waitress looked as if she was going to faint we were not ok, night off or not customers come first. we seen another table take ages. while the food was very good, very old school french, the price in this day and age was not, if your going to drop in make sure its for the early bird special, watch out for side charges. its not surprising theyre closed half the week, if they did better deals and modernised te menu they would be full all week as the food is so good.

Feel I was ripped off here. Set menu for dinner advertised as €32.95 as far as I recall. However, the main course does not come with any vegetables, so these cost an additional €6.50! I then ordered dessert, and found that this cost me €9 - as it wasn't one of the desserts on the set menu - I didn't know this - I was handed the menu and simply made my choice - this should have been pointed out to me. It also means that in effect I paid for 2 desserts, as one was included in the price. So dinner for 2 ended up costing €84 instead of the expected €66 (no drinks were purchased). It wasn't that busy - no surprise there. I won't be going back or recommending it to anyone. If you go here make sure you check the hidden charges.

Nice quaint place on the way to the Train Station in Kildare Town, food was of a very good standard, well presented. Service was ok, could be more attentive to the customers needs, and could also ask was everything okay, which wasnt when we were there. Would go here again but with all the restaurants doing value deals might be longer than one would imagine as other restaurants are offering better value for money at the moment. Still a very nice place to dine for a special occasion

My wife brought me there last night for my birthday. Had been mean to try it for ages as had heard about it from friends. Its a lovely small warmly decorated room. We were the only two in it midweek but it felt fine. The food was lovely. I had wood pidgeon starter and main was kilmore quay fish platter. Wifey had mussels and monkfish for main. Equally nice desserts were had and far too much Cote Du Rhone. Service was excellant and friendly from waitress and even Chef who not only cooked some wonderful food but help with our wine selection. We'll certainly be back.

i heard about this restaurant from a friend of a friend and myself and my partner decided to give it a try and to be totally honest i was dissappointed. i had goats cheese served on soggy lettuce and my husbands chicken was cold. i foun this restaurant was totally overrated altough the atmosphere and decor made it out to be a lovely little french bistro. i found that it was very expensive and to be honest i doubt very much that i will return to this restaurant again

I have heard a lot of good things about Annamars, ans so I was quite disappointed with the real thing. While the atmosphere was cosy and warm, and the service, while a bit slow was polite and efficient, the food was overpriced and slightly cold by the time it arrived. It was tasty, but I expect more than tasty for that price!! I may go again, but not in a hurry

When I entered this restaurant I was was impressed by the French style decor and cosy atmosphere even though it was quiet. There was a bit of a musty odour. The menu is very large with a selection of value options. I went for the Goats cheese for starters which was very well presented and my partner opted for the blackened chicken tenders. My starter was lacking in flavour and the bed of lettuce it sat on was a bit soggy. The chicken tenders were luke warm but were still enjoyable. For the main course I decided to go for the Sea Bass and my partner the Chicken Supreme. Both dishes were overwhelmed by the sauces especially the chicken which had half the plate covered in a cheese sauce. The vegetables were enjoyable. Desserts were definitely the highlight with the strawberry pavlova providing the icing on the cake. Overall, I was a bit dissapointed as I had heard so many good things about Annamars. I feel they have got so many things right but it was let down by the food especially for the amount you are paying. The waitress on the night was very friendly and helpful and I also really enjoyed the backround French music. I will give them another try on a busier night so hopefully they will change my mind.

We found Annamars to have very efficient service with nice food. I have to say and we do not mind paying for excellent cuisine, but I found overall the prices a little high for the standard. In other words for what we paid (over 100 euro for 2 people with one bottle of wine - 2 course) - I was a little disappointed. However, the atmosphere and staff were friendly.

Have eaten here many times and the food is consistently amazing. The chef is obviously passionate about food and happy to cater for specific dietary requirements which is great. Atmosphere is nice. Strawberry Pavlova is out of this world. This is a must while in Kildare

Have visited Annemars at the weekend,Wonderful restaurant service very friendly and pays attention to detail were very helpful when asked for extra mashed potatoes. Quick service we were ready to leave after fitting three courses into an hour and a half, however we did not feel as if we were rushed. I was unsure what to have for desert, I suggest you read the menu carefully i went for Pavlova in a strawberry mousse. It was divine. Our bill came t €103 for 3 courses each with a glass of house wine/coke and tea/coffee. Will return agin

I have been eating in Annamars restaurant since they opened for business first in the Milltown Inn. The food is fantastic, the staff are very friendly & the atmosphere in the restaurant is wonderful. From Starters, to Main Course & if you can manage it the Dessert is wonderful.....especially the "Bread & Butter Pudding". I just love that dessert. On the whole Annamars Restaurant is a wonderful place to have an enjoyable night.
