A group of 6 of us visited here on a Friday evening. Staff were very friendly and service was efficient however the atmosphere was lacking in the restaurant area, as was the food. Starters were hit and miss and salads had to be returned because of missing ingredients. Seabass for mains was way overcooked to the point of being inedible. Risotto was just ok, a bit tasteless. We got the cheeseboard to share, which was very nice, as were the Irish coffeys! We all felt the food was very overpriced, especially for what we were served. Unfortunately we wont be returning.

We arrived at 5pm and could choose from both the lunch menu and the dinner menu. Both were reasonably priced and the children's menu was very impressive. The staff were friendly and efficient and overall the service was very good. Excellent quality food and right sized portions. A good wine list to suit all tastes and pockets

This would be a frequent enough choice for us for Sunday dinner, and always enjoyed. On this visit, while the food was very tasty as always (we had chicken korma and braised pork belly), the service was pretty slow, although we may have just come at a bad time in the evening. Also the desserts were disappointing, I opted for Summer trifle which was little more than summer berries, with some stale sponge cake then covered with mascarpone cheese. They offer great value for money however as they are offering double savings on the vat reduction. I have no doubt we will be back here again.

Have eaten here a few times and while the venue is nice and the service warm and friendly, the food itself has in general been a bit hit and miss.

Have visited this place a few times but was disappointed on my last visit. I have always felt this place is very overpriced. The evening bar menu is quite limited and the daytime menu seemed much more appealing but as it was 6pm we could not order from that menu. I ordered the Fallons burger which was tasty and very large, it came with chips which were quite frankly awful, they were greasy and soggy. We had been waiting quite a while for our food so I hadn't got the patience to send them back. I paid 18 euro for the burger so definitely don't feel that was good value when there is so much competition out there.

On arrival we were seated in a little snug away from the main dining area. Service was prompt throughout the meal and we were given some brown bread while we waited for our starters to arrive. We both ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad. The dressing was very flavoursome with a strong anchovy taste, essential in my view! The lardons/pancetta/ bacon - whatever you want to call it - tasted like Fried Christmas Ham and was consequently delicious. The Baby Gem lettuce was crisp and the Parmesan was fresh and plentiful. Ev ordered the Chicken Breast with Orzo Pasta served in a creamy pesto-like sauce, garnished with some rocket/ spinach mix. She thoroughly enjoyed it: the chicken was tender, and the tomatoes in the dish had a sharp taste which livened up the creamy sauce. I ordered the Sirloin steak (€2 Supplement) and had it cooked medium-rare. It was served with Chunky Chips, A mushroom/ onion mix and some rich pepper sauce. I have to say that the Steak was cooked very well, it was tender and juicy and the sauce was just the right viscosity. The only issues that I had were that I wasn’t given a steak knife, which made the meal somewhat difficult and I think they could have made a better effort at crisping up the fat/gristle on the side. The bill came to €59.50, for two starters, two mains, (set dinner menu of 2 courses for €25 or 3 for €30) one house white wine (€6.50 a glass) and a dash of blackcurrant (€1) which I have to say is a bit expensive: Having said that we really enjoyed our meal and will be returning!

I went for Sunday lunch with the in laws and having visited for dinner at night was really looking forward to it. It was very busy and we were seated by the back door in the conservatory which is a lovely room but very cold and there were people in and out to smoke so we kept having to get up to close the door. The staff were run off their feet as there was a christening going on but they were not very au fait with the menu and our questions were shrugged off a bit. I went with the duck for starters which was nice if a bit bland and Chicken goan for main which I found to be very salty. For dessert the sticky toffee pudding was delicious as was my husbands berry and ice cream meringue. I didn't think the prices were too extravagant although it is a bit of a treat!

Came here on Bank Holiday Monday. Food is tasty and there is a lovely cosy atmosphere but it's very overpriced. Over €20 for chicken breast! Staff are normally efficicent but service was sloppy and a bottle of wine was left off our bill.

Visited Fallons with a large party. The restaurant/bar is welcoming and nicely decorated. Service was prompt and friendly. However, the food was relatively bland and extremely over priced. I would return again for a drink but not dining.

I often come here for lunch on a Saturday to meet my friend. The atmophere is nice and cosy with a large open fire with traditional stonework. We had the open sandwich and the cup of soup option. There are only 3 open sandwichs on the menu with this option but the ones they have are lovely. I had the salmon and my friend had the chicken and stuffing. I was expecting the soup to be a small portion but it was just the right size and tasted wholesome. We shared a dessert of sticky toffee pudding and homemade vanilla icecream which was great and not too filling. We should have had one each! The service is always good and efficient. I think it was good value for lunch but some of the mains seemed pricey.Overall I would reccomend this to anyone passing Kilcullen.

This place is really nice I thin It's got a bit cheaper since I was here last. Starter Yummy wings. Main course Burger not so good trimmings etc nice but the burger meat was only ok I would suggest a meaty burger rather than the rubbery addititve stuffed one I got, simple would be good. Crab claws huge portion and to die for really classy dish. Service was OK nice but not super. Room was cold in our side close to the kitchen perhaps something to do wiith the fans and the door the entrabce side was much more comfortable. Great room great menu and throughly enjoyed it will be back to see if you get your burger right.

Hadn't been to Fallons in a while. We tried the tapas selection & they were delish. We particularly loved the prawns & the goats cheese. This is beautiful food at value for money. You should sell you're chilli jam, its yummy:-) As always the staff are excellent & they create a relaxed atmosphere. Compliments to the chef but one suggestion... put a little more salad on the tapas dishes.

we had a family birthday celebration in the stone room in fallons recently. they do a very good buffett menu for 20 euro. this room is great for a private party and you must try the strawberry meringue birthday cake. I will definitely choose fallons again, the service on the night was fab. You are doing a great job keep up the good work.

Popped in for a quick lbite to eat with my wife and had a terrific lunch. I opted for a pasta dish while my wife raved over her cod in beer batter with chunky fries. Great food, prompt friendly service, and a buzz in the restaurant..Will definitely be making a return visit,

As we live in the area it is great to have such a good restaurant close by. It has a quirky relaxed atmosphere and i adore the back room. The food is great and the choice from the menu is just right. I always bring my famil and friends to fallons when they are visiting.

having heard so much from family and friends about fallons in kilcullen we decided to pay a visit last friday. we were very pleased with the experience. we were seated in the back area which has a great piano that plays away in the corner, the kids just loved this. this room also leads to the smoking area which is great. The food did not dissapoint, dingle bay prawns and the fallons burger just great, definitely a reason to return. The fallons staff are very child friendly, the kiddies menu, great variety which inculdes healthy options, and with the kiddies pack you get a few minutes peace to enjoy you glass of wine. Well done to all we will definitely be back.

Had a lovely meal here on Saturday night with some girlfriends. We ordered our wine at the bar from a very helpful bar man who allowed us taste some of the wines to help us choose. We were seated in a lovely cosy room at the front of the bar which I didnt even realise existed. Food was excellent but unfortunately we had no room for desserts. Staff and service was very good so hope to go back and try their desserts soon.

I went to Fallons on the word of my friend. I was hit by the warmth and friendliness of the staff, well most of them. Overall they were very efficient, friendly and had a great knowledge of the menu. The one exception to this was one of the mangers. Not only did he give out to one of the bar staff in front of us, he walked around and patronised the rest of the staff. To me and my husband it looked as though he thought the job was beneath him and frequently got the younger staff to do jobs for him. The food was abosolutly amazing but the prices were a bit pricey. I'll definatly be going back and recommending this to friends! Whoever wrote that comment about 'everytime I go, I say I'm not going back' should either stop going or go and quit complaining. I thought it was absolutly excellent.

Dined in Fallons of Kilcullen for the first time last Friday night. I must say that it was an absolute pleasure. The warmth and cozy atmosphere when I walked though the door along with the friendly staff, was most appealing. The food was of a very high quality and was nicely presented and very tasty. Will be recommending to all my friends. Well done to all involved!!

My wife and I traveled the country, stopped for fuel and felt a bit peckish. Asked at the petrol station were to eat and were told that our best bet would be Fallon's on the Main Street. The premise was very cozy. We were seated at one of the comfy couches. We ordered a Fish n Chips and I opted for the Burger. Both arrived and the Fish was crispy and tasted fresh and my burger was perfectly cooked, moist and very tasty as well. The hand cut chips are to die for. However I felt that it was a bit pricey for what I call a light lunch, but the service made up for it. We definitely will be back should we decided to explore this part of the world again.

Met a few buds here last week end for pints, food and craic. Craic and pints good. Everything else poor Service very poor. Seems nobody interested in jobs. Staff very disorganised and not interested in customers. After a huge wait for table we were served begrudgingly! Food nothing to write home about. Food on a plate lacking any culinary skills, no taste whatsoever. Presentation non existent, almost thrown at us. Very expensive. Horrible experience. They can keep their bad attitude/bad food and over priced menu. They will have to improve their standards in the face of the recession or they will be another fatality. Nowadays we expect a lot better even in country pubs! Shape up lads! Sorry we wont be returning and we weren't the only one's to complain.

I've been here a few times and each time I say I'm not going back. The service is dismal if they are in any way busy. The atmosphere is not great. The staff appear miserable.I was once tutted at by a waitress because I asked for another drink! And there is never any chat between the staff and customers as you get in the other places in the area. No smiles, manner etc. If you are trying to catch their attention there are one or two waitresses who pretend not to see you. It's not unusual to wait over half an hour for your starter and I've never had food there that was worth waiting that long for! It's extremly expensive for what amounts to bar food.

Went to Derby on Sat and called into Fallons. Dismal looking pub on outside, but plesant athmosphere inside. Decor quite serene and comfortable. Was greeted by most handsome man ever seen! What an asset he is to a place like this. Unusual to meet someone who is so interested in their job, promotes the menu really well and has a fantastic knowledge of the wines, recommended our starters and main courses and complimented with a fabulous wine. Tempted us with deserts, but the portions are huge. Good selection on menu, but food is expensive for a pub. But we didnt mind too much he is worth paying the extra for!! Tunisia for the holidays! Will go back. Good function venue.

Heard about this place through friend. Tried it one evening. Food is OK, portions are big. Nice surroundings and athmosphere. Staff quite useless with the exception of the foreign manager who is very professional and curteous for a place like this. Nice menu, good deserts, like the remote control piano. Bit pricey for the location.

Myself and my husband ate there last Sunday evening, the place was very busy, but it was nice and cosy. The bar food we thought was very expensive, 18 euro for a burger is way too much and we also had to pay 3 euro for the water, even though we asked for tap water. The food was tasy and the quality was good, but just too expensive

I have eaten here on numerous occasions and have only ever been happy once. The only reason I return is as I am usually invited to a celebration or special occasion so I have no choice on where we go. I have never booked it for any event I have planned myself and would not do so as the service is usually very slow and food only average. It is very hit and miss. Hopefully some new competion in the small town of Kilcullen will make them pull up their socks because it's a great place for a relaxing drink.

I really like this restaurant with the exception of some of the staff. If the owners could just get the staff to look less hostile when you were looking for their attention the palace potentially could be right up there with the local competition. However the manager was helpful and polite and the food is very good.

Fallons came highly recommended to me for a recent Christmas night out that I was organising and I was not disappointed. The owners were extremely pleasant to deal with and did everything to accommodate us. The exterior of the restaurant does not do justice to the fabulous spacious interior. Food was lovely we had a 3 course dinner menu priced at a very reasonable 40 euros per head. The beef was perfectly cooked and the desserts were beautifully presented. V generous portion size. A definite recommendation

Restaurant has a very nice atmosphere - drinks can be had in the bar/sitting area at the front while looking over the menu and ordering; when appetizers are ready you are escorted into the lovely dining room - stone walls, nicely dressed and set tables with covered chairs - romantic for two or perfect for nice nights out with groups. Food was very good, however, deep fried brie starters were cold in the middle (or else not fully cooked). Wait staff could be more attentive and friendly; however the manager/maitre d' was extremely professional and friendly. Will definitely be returning for another night out this Christmas time.
