went to the abbey inn on the date in question,as was amazed with the new bar, it was worth the wait . there were 4 of us and we took a seat and looked at the menu . straight away a pleasant waiter greeted us and took our drink order. when our drinks order arrived he took our order . there was 1 fish and chips /2 16oz t bones ,1burger . from start to finish the whole dining experince was excelent. the fish was cod &and came with a fresh and large salad . the t bones would melt in your mouth. the burger was topped with bocon &cheese.we were offer potato &veg if we didnt want chips &salad, one of our party did &received a dish of stir fry veg &creamy champ. all in all it was great . well worth the visit&will tell all my friends .

The Abbey was only recently refurbished and has become a beautifully decoarated new bar. I have eaten here twice, and I have to say that for a pub meal, I was disappointed both times. Service is good, the staff are mostly fairly friendly, if not a little surly! The menu is what you would expect in most modern pubcs. I had a burger the first time, which was not great, dry and thin...with limp garnish, the chips were nice. The side salad was non existent ( I love my salad!). The second time I had the chicken curry (one of the only things on the menu without chips, It was rubbish...some chicken, a few bits of onion and that horrible curry sauce you would get in most chippers. The rice was standard boiled rice, but there was only a couple of spoonfuls, so I was still starving when I finished. I can't rememebr the exact price, but I think the curry was around 15euro. I think for the prices they are charging, they should serve much much better quality food. I politely mentioned htis to the server, who looked at me like I had three heads. I wouldn't recommend the Abbey...better value elsewhere!

I've eaten here quite a bit. Food is always good- and not too expensive. The only thing I would say is the portion size when if comes to chips could be bigger. That said if you're looking for a quick bite eat, some place nice, I recommended the Abbey Inn.
