Went as part of a group of five. Two of us had the early bird menu which is extremely good value and offers a nice variety of choices. Two had pizzas and one had the sirloin steak. Both enjoyed the pizzas, which are the perfect size, and the steak was tasty, but had just a little bit too much fat.Only complaint from anyone was that the cannelloni was a bit bland but otherwise the rest of the feedback was positive.I very much enjoyed my penne toscana and bruschetta.Even though it was very busy, the service was fast, friendly and efficient. We will be back.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend who was a fan but I won't be recommending it to anyone. Restaurant was crammed and noisy, our table was in a poky alcove with barely room for the two of us. Service was absolutely atrocious, they knew we were under pressure for time but still it took 75 minutes to bring two main courses (my companion had had a mushroom started which had been cleared at least 30 mins earlier). Barely had time to taste the main course but my duck breast was bland, and dry to one end. Had to ask for the bill three times. Safe to say we didn't leave a tip, and won't be returning!

Availed of the early bird menu whilst staying at a nearby hotel. I had the bruschetta to start which was very fresh and very tasty. I then had the lasagne of which the portion was big and very tasty. Staff friendly, good atmosphere, would comeback if visiting the area again :)

I was very disappointed with this restaurant after reading such great reviews. We had booked a table but when we arrived we were told there was no table available so we were placed in the cold smoking area at a tiny table which they expected us to eat at. This would not have been possible due to the size of the table which was nearly right in a doorway. We were eventually given a table after about 30mins. The food was cold and portions were very small. I did not consider it very good value for money. I also found the staff very rude. I do not even plan on visiting this restaurant again nor would I recommend it. Overall experience was very disappointing.

Recommend the 'Stuffed Mushrooms' and the 'Fillet Steak'. Nice setting with a courtyard in the centre for two smoking tables. Freindly service. Good food and good value.

I've been a regular at Bella Bia for about eight years now and have introduced dozens of people to this little family-run business and none have been disappointed. I've dined there with groups varying from just two people right up to twenty-five and the food has always been consistantly good and service friendly. Run by a husband and wife team and a handful of waitresses who have all worked there as far back as I can remember, the restaurant is cosy. It comprises of two long dining rooms split by an outdoor seated smoking area which is essentially a covered patio with heaters. The food is lovely. The portions are a decent size and always piping hot. The sides are very good and the wine, spirits and beers available are varied and reasonably priced. The desserts are fresh and usually quite large. The chocolate ice-cream, in particular, is amazing. The only downside to Bella Bia is that sometimes the service can be very, very slow. While this is certainly the exception rather than the norm, I have been delayed there several times. If you're thinking of dining here on a Friday or Saturday night, you'll most certainly be disappointed if you haven't made a reservation. Chances are, if you wander in on a rainy Tuesday, the place will still be very busy. For me, that speaks volumes about the popularity of Bella Bia.

This was my first time at the restaurant and I was very impressed. The staff were very welcoming and accomadating to my 14 month old daughter. We went for the early bird (which is great value) and the food was fabulous. We were waiting a little time for our main courses but when they came they were worth it as my husband had the Lasagne and it was made from scratch which accounts for the delay. This restaurant is ideal for any occassion.

I struggle to comprehend why people (not just on this website) rate this palce so highly. The restaurant itslef is well laid out and has a good atmosphere. That is about where it ends. There were three people at my table - we all tried something different and none of the dishes managed to get far above average. The bruschetta my companions had was tastless - very little basil, garlic and tomatoes had very little taste. The mozarrella cubes came with a very poor red pesto sauce - more like a paste. This is not difficult food. I had chicken wrapped in parma ham in marsala sauce and it was appalling. It was dripping in what i could best describe as 'tex mex bbq rib sauce' and all flavours were devoured by it. the pasta dishes ordered by my companions were average but nothing more. we avoided dessert. The main waitress was also quite short and rude. We walked in a few nights previous and tried to get a table but were abruptly and rudely told no. nothing offered about taking our number and coming back later or saying sorry maybe another time. Massively over rated.

Great place, great food, great service... What a little gem of a place. The atmosphere and setting is adoreable, the food was great and very reasonable priced and the service was perfect. We both had the stuffed mushrooms to start, floolwed by Chicken Saltimboca and a Pizza, for dessert Chocolate Cake plus a bottle of wine for €65. Highly recommended.

Such a fantastic restaurant! My favourite and anyone I ever bring there decides it's their favourite too! The food always tastes so fresh-really does Italian justice. Especially the bruschetta!! They have a great vegetarian selection and what I realy love is that they'll change any dish to suit what you want. The staff are amazing-so so friendly, never rush you, always happy to give good customers a drink on the house, free birthday cake, they even offer free extra sideorders when they see you running out! I just can't rate this place any higher-it's exactly the kind of atmosphere that so many places try to create but just do't get right! A must!!!

I eat here a lot and the food is always excellent. Prices are very good too especially for the early bird menu. The service is average and the waiting time is sometimes long though.

I've been here lots of times and it's good value but it is mainly pizza and pastas, with just a few other options. Food is always very good, but I have found the service only fair. The last time we went without a reservation, the girl who met us at the door was quite rude when we asked if she had a table, and left us standing there for 10 mins before we just decided to leave. Early bird menu is REALLY good value though.
