Quick, tasty and easy on the pocket - exactly what good pub food should be. Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. There were some good Irish tunes playing in the background but they weren't too loud so we could actually hear each other speak. We both ordered the chicken caeser wrap. We were considering sides but the wrap arrived with a lovely side salad and good chunky home made chips so there was plenty in it. We had a pint and a bottle of beer with lunch and we were very surprised at how cheap the bill was. Very friendly staff there too! Looks like a good traditional bar that would be fun to go out in at night. Will be visiting The Celt again very soon!

In town to see Obama but got an even bigger thrill when myself and three friends discovered this gem on Talbot St. Where have you been hiding all this time? We tried the beef in guiness and the pigs trotters - wow! The staff were just lovely, full of chat and very welcoming. We stayed for a few drinks and had a great evening. We will all, definitely be back!!

This place is terrific. Only a couple blocks off the main O'Connell Street run by the Liffey (near Clery's), I decided to walk around to find a place to eat. (I am an American student studying abroad in Dublin this semester.) I really like little pubs and off-the-beaten-path restaurants, so The Celt caught my eye when I walked by it. The atmosphere was great. I sat at the bar, and there are signs, posters, and pictures of just funny things and historic Irish Rebellion signs. It was a great place to go and relax, and quite a few "regulars" came in while I was there. (They knew the owner, at least.) Nice rustic wood gives the place a lot of character. The food is delicious! I ordered the beef & guinness stew and it was one of the tastiest meals I've had since I've been here! The meat was extremely tender, the mash was excellent and very flavorful, and the mixed vegetables came in a delicious buttery sauce. After devouring my food, the owner--a kind and funny old Irish guy--joked that I "must not have liked it" because there was no food left on my plate. They also have a good beer selection. I had to have a Guinness or two and the owner built them perfectly. I think that was my first Irish Guinness, and the proper Irish way of pouring it gives it a much better taste than I had in the U.S. The only downfall of The Celt was that it didn't accept credit cards. This didn't affect me because I brought cash, but there were a few times the owner had to tell people that they couldn't accept credit cards and to go to the ATM down the street. I have recommended this place to quite a few people and will try and get back soon!
