Great experience here. Booked Limetree about 2 Months in advance of our stay in Kenmare on a colleagues recommendation. Very happy we did, restaurant was very busy, Saturday night. We got a very warm welcome on arrival, wine list was good and good value, we had a nice Sauvingon Blanc. We both had fish and it was beautiful. Despite only mentioning the fact it was my Wife's birthday on the phone a few months pre-visit a carefully dressed desert arrived with candle at the end of the meal. Great attention to detail! Will be back and couldn't recommend more highly, faultless.

Had a very nice dinner here. We got a very nice basket of bread with butter and a fabulous tapenade. The starter of Brie & the seafood tian was absolutely lovely with beautifully dressed leaves. The roast fillet of Hake was very nice also but the skin was a bit flabby so not very appetising and also quite a lot of bones in one of the fillets. The vegetable and mashed potato accompaniments were very tasty...very nicely flavoured. Dessert of pear and almond tart was too hot and rather bland in flavour. Service was excellent and the staff was most pleasant. Tables too close together to have any sort of private conversation and the food was overpriced in my opinion.

The Lime Tree was recommended by a couple of people so we decided it must be worth a visit. Lovely setting and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The tables are a bit too close together so it is difficult to have conversation without hearing the next tables conversation also. Wine was expensive compared to other places we looked at. Food is very good, I loved the seafood chowder as it was piping hot not lukewarm as can be the case in some restaurants. We will be back in the future

A lovely dining experience. My family spent a glorious week in kenmare a couple of weeks ago, and my wife & I had one night out ( without kids! ), and chose the lime tree, which is a big decision in Kenmare considering the choice! My wife started with the bruschetta, which was simple & very tasty, a perfect bruschetta. I opted for the smoked salmon spring roll, which I felt didn't quite work. The combination of the hot filo pastry with warm smoked salmon wasn't great, although perfectly palateable. For mains, herself adored perfectly cooked cod, and my pork was sublime, paired with red cabbage & potato rosti. We shared some simple ice cream to cleanse the palate to finish, although the other desserts were very tempting. I also had a delicious glass of dessert wine. What did sour my evening a little was my pet gripe - charging for vegetables & potato. I hate it. In fairness, it was clearly marked on the menu, & it was a reasonable charge of €3.50 for a portion for 2, but it just drives me mad. We Irish need our spuds, and i walked out thinking four and a half stars, instead of five...

I came here with my partner on a romantic weekend away and I have to say that this restaurant did not live up to my expectations and was dull compared to some other places. My partner had the house salad that he enjoyed and I had the confit of duck. The duck was greasy and cold and quite honestly tasteless. Then we had pork for my partner and gnocci for me. Now my partners pork fillet was over cooked and the veg that came with it were cooked to much and tasted like water... my gnocci was like under cooked yorkshire pudding batter and had a gelatinous quality that was quite frankly horrid! I sent it back and they were very kind and took the main from the bill, I then ordered cheese board and my partner had cheescake that he said I made better but the cheese was great. Wine was reasonble price and the setting quite nice but to be honest after we complained I felt they became less interested in us and this made us want to leave. it is a pity as we were looking forward to the delights of kenmare and I have to say would not go back to the lime tree

While on holiday in Kenmare I visited this restaurant while passing it one day and I'm glad I stopped in for something to eat. This is a cosy little restaurant with great food & fabulous service - the waitress were extremely friendly and chatty (but not over bearing and interrupting your meal). I had Mussels to start which was fab and that was followed by a chicken dish which was equally tasty. Very quaint restaurant and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Kenmare - a great little treat
